    It's nice to see Mr. Jerry really happy with the outcome of the car. Mr. Jerry, thank you for your service.
    I also think Mr. Jerry has quite a voice! I believe he could record commercials or some stuff like that.

    WOW I was so pleasantly surprised on how thankful Jerry was towards Eric. I'm so glad he got his car fixed and not someone like Jeff. Great series of videos with the SE-R Eric, you really outdid yourself. You're an awesome person and I'm proud to be Subscribed to you.

    I don't wanna judge people, but Jerry seemed a hundred times happier to see his car fixed than Barbara did back when she got her van back. With his reaction I would feel much better donating money to the fund than before.

    Eric, thank you so much for helping this man and myself out by making these videos and fixing that man's car. I own a Sentra myself as my first car and it's great to have videos with the exact same year. Idk if I could replace control arms myself, but I know how to check spark plugs for residual oil and I know not to get an aftermarket valve cover! My car burns oil at 115,000 and I think it is due to a bad o2 sensor and possibly a worn timing chain or a bad tensioner from what you were describing. It's good to know they can go the distance if they are maintained well.

    Hello Eric,
    Thank you for helping me with my Nissan!
    In the past I did a valve adjustement on my Acura MDX 2005 after watching your videos. It worked well. I did not expect that I will find help with the other car that I have: Nissan Primera 2002!
    I am in Moldova, a small country in Europe. The Acura is imported from the US, but the Nissan is manufactured in UK. The thing is that Sentra and Primera have similar engines: QR25DE, QR 20DE respectively. This video shows me exactly what I need in order to address the issues that come with running old cars, as I try to do the repairs by myself. Strange enough, parts are cheaper in the US, therefore seeing the similarities, gives me the confidence of ordering parts from the US also for my Nissan.
    I like your mechanical skills, the ways you explain, and the sense of humor.
    WOW, what a surprise to see Jerry wearing a sweater with Romanian text.
    Eric, anytime you decide to visit Romania (the Dracula castle) let me know, I will be your guide and driver.
    Don’t worry if the cars break. We will fix them on the side of the road!
    Wish you best,
    Cristian
    PS: For the Sentra I would have recommended to have a throttle body clean-up, as the gunk that accumulates make it sluggish over time, followed by an idle relearn. There is also a recall with the crankshaft sensors on this particular engine.

    This is awesome. I can't think of a more deserving candidate for this video then a Veteran. He served and put his life on the line for the rest of us. That's ultimate respect. Did more for him then what the Federal is doing for him after they promised him stuff and more then likely didn't keep their end of the deal.

    Hey Eric, I've loved this series. I have a 2002 SE-R that I got from under a pine tree. It sat for 18 months, lots of tree sap. Fired right up with a new battery and a small shot of starter fluid. It's an awesome car, only 75K miles. There is actually a cover that goes over that charcoal canister to keep the road grime out. Love the hub grappler for the wheel bearing.
    Love what you did for Jerry. Keep up the great work and thanks for all you do for all us DIYers.

    • @asquaredtheking
      @asquaredtheking 8 лет назад

      I hope you don't leave the stock pre-cat on it, get a header they break down over time and get sucked back up into the engine, which scores cylinder walls and causes it to burn oil

  • @zoidberg444
    @zoidberg444 8 лет назад +12

    Of the 3 fixing it forwards so far, i feel that this is one of the most worthwhile cars to put some investment into. The car looks in pretty good condition underneath. The wiring and hoses look pretty good. The suspension had some much needed attention, with the new chain in the engine i think that car could well do another 7-10 years/150,000 miles with reasonable maintenance and a few age related parts failures.
    There really isn't much better than 90's Nissans/Toyotas/Hondas. You know Nissans these days, especially whats sold in the UK. Nissan have tied up with Renault and they are just no where near as good as they used to be.

    Mr. Eric, the car guy, thankyou for providing this video and all the informations about this Nissan Sentra. As you said this Nissan Sentra is a wonderful car from my own experience because I own a 2002 Nissan Sentra GXE I bought new from the Nissan Dealership. Honestly I don't intend to give this car because of it's good service to us with NO any major repairs except oil changes, tyre changes, air filter, spark plugs etc. During the past 16 years with 160,000 miles with no body rusting etc. and most importantly it is with timing chain. I also own new Honda Pilot, civic and Toyota Corolla and of all these Japanese car I prefer Nissan because it is the only did not have any recalls from the manufacturers. I enjoyed from you saying repeatedly that you this Nissan Sentra and I believe it is based on your own experience from driving this car.

    260.000 miles ! Now way ! The hoses look dry and cracked airbox to throttle body and emission hose from vavle cover to air intake , but that proves older cars if looked after can save you money , by not buying a new one on credit , decent , honest mechanic technicians take pride in their work , quality used old cars can be repaired and drive as new . Great vids on this subject.
