You missed out on advising what type of oil to use for the frying? Also, I have come to love Akara seasoned with ginger. A ghanaian woman introduced it to me.
Not "karaka" though 😄😄😄 kids are the cutest. Before my son could speak properly, he used to call shawarma "shayaman". His first milkshake was homemade and some days later, he was asking for banana juice 😄😄. We had no idea because we had never bought nor given him banana juice till I was sitting around one day and it suddenly occurred to me, "oh my God, there was banana puree in the milkshake that's why he called it banana juice".
I went to meet My Yoruba Nigerian Girlfriend yesterday and had fried a bowl of beans Akara for Me that she gave me at the parking lot. I gave her a hug that almost squeezed the life out of her 😄 Sissie Yemmisie only 6 made it home. I can eat bean Akara everyday I love it so much!!!!! Anything bean for Me!. You make it look so simple to do. I never get is right. It's hit and numerous misses for Me🙈🙈 Thanks again for sharing this simple but very tasty bites. More Blessings. The bowls are beautiful! Mom and daughter bonding time. Nice.
I am learning more about my Yoruba roots that go back to Nigeria. We make a dish similar to this. I can see how the traditions are even in what I know. Amazing. I can't wait to make these!
Thank you so much! Made akara for the first time and it came out perfect. I have always hated trying it cause of all the work involved with peeling the beans but your style worked perfectly.
Only tatashe peppers,no habaneros? It would be very helpful if you told us how many minutes to blend for and fry,the temperature of the oil,the size of the spoon(is that a big serving spoon or just an ordinary tablespoon)?
Sis Yemisi.U are blessed. Tried out my akara this weekend, it came out great for the first time. Thank you for the tip about putting enough oil in the pan. 😘😘
This remind me of Nigeria... Please can you share kitchen haul you bought recently? Because am loving those set of turquoise pots and others things am seeing in your recent videos
📝📝 Thanks Sisi Yemmie, I have jotted things down.😊 I love the idea of meal planning, asides preparations, you won't take too much time deciding or even staying in the kitchen, that's really amazing 👏 Also, Sisi Yemmie, I forgot to ask from your last video where you made pasta, could you kindly add to your next cook video where you bought those pots? I really love them as it seems they are non-stick, thank you. Nice video and tips! I love akara too, will sure try this out.❤️🌹
Thank you for all you do ,I am enjoying your video. when ever I try making Akara, it comes out flat, odd shapes , and burnt, each time I put a new scoop of beans into the frying pan the new scoop floats and attach to the other ones in the frying pan. what a mess! . do you have to press out the oil , I use peanut oil

In Brazil, we call it acarajé. I love it!!!!
In Brasil this is called Acarajé.
The Afro Brasilians clearly brought this to Brasil through some of their ancestors that were Nigerian.
I tried this method today and I was surprised the akara was so soft and fluffy very nice thanks ma
Thanks a lot teaching me, I can now go and start frying it now. God bless you. I have longed for this for years now.
Meal planner, good..but better still is to make them in bulk and freeze. Airfryer will bring them back to life!
