bro's voice is so soothing wtf
keep doing videos man! I appreciate your work here. Well done!
Thank you, I appreciate that. I will do :)
ITX is my favarite form factor, this board is very cool! Thank you for video.
Glad you like it. My pleasure!
I was a little disappointed by X670 since Asus was the only company to release an ITX version of the chipset. Everyone else chose the B650 which was a little underwhelming cause they all cheaped out on the feature set while increasing prices when compared to what the ITX Intel boards offered. I like this board and as a diehard SFF fanboy, I want to see what AsRock, MSI and Gigabyte will present before I upgrade once the AMD 9k X3D cpus are available.
This is the only ITX board I've seen announced for X870. Asus' B650 was pretty good I think, especially when it had more to offer than other B650 ITX at a very similar price. It was a better feature to price board than their own X670 ITX.
@@jordanash I king of liked the Asrock B650 ITX board, it provided more rear IO than the Asus version. The one feature that was a seriously missed accessory was an external clear bios button. Most motherboard manufacturers hide the reset in the most hardest places to reach.
A small correction. There are two pins near the backside of the pcie slot and those serve as the power button header. The card with all of the sata ports does also have the front panel connectors, but it is not absolutely necessary to use it.
Yeah I and another person discussed that below, but at the time there was no documentation to say. I will speak about in the round up.
Great Channel & review info as always ...I will definitely check out the "Asus Rog Strix X870-I" MB for an upcoming build of mine.
Thank you 😊
Bros actually very nice to listen to voice is very satisfying lol
Thanks, man!
Glad to see that dongle life has come to motherboards...
Taking some inspiration from Apple haha
I bought it from scan on pre-order and waiting for it to arrive
Nice one ☺️
Looking forward for the X870E-E.
Next up ☺
Unfortunately for X870E-E, you have to choose either to run your GPU at x8 or to not have your second SSD connected directly to the CPU. You have to go for the X870E Hero to avoid this. Very unfortunate. Very ASUS.
That's very absurd for sure. Someone having a secondary SSD would definitely have a GPU to run the rig. Yeap, very ASUS.
Good job you mentioned that otherwise I might have missed it. I've checked the reviewer's guide and it says the bandwidth is reduced when slots 2 *&* 3 are populated, but if it's just one it might be okay 🤔
@@jordanash you could be right but the x870e hero board didn’t have the same language. Therefore I’m still skeptical. Looking forward to your testing.
good motherboard, Thank you for introducing it.
You're welcome!
Hi, I have a question and hope you can answer my question! ☺
With this motherboard, I just need to buy a M.2 gen 5 SSD without heatsink and i can use it normally, right? Or do I have to buy a M.2 gen 5 SSD with heatsink for SSD?? 🤔
Hello! Without is what you want (or one that can be removed).
excited to see their Z890-i for Arrowlake
Will see if I can get one :)
good video.
Thank you!
I'm really hoping there will be some good MATX boards available, particularly for Z890 on Intel. Though I could go with AMD, all depends on options available. My case I have set aside is the Asrock Dark Cube, an MATX case, and while I could use an ITX board I'd prefer MATX.
Personally I'm still waiting for Intel 15th Gen to launch and AMD X3D. See how the reviews stack up, and see what sorta boards are available at launch. I've been using Intel for over 20 years, so I certainly have my preferences, though I could swap, dunno yet. Not in a huge rush, and if possible I'd like a higher end X870 of Z890 board that will pair up well with an unlocked i9 or equivalent. CAMM2 support would be cool too, I wouldn't mind trying it out over traditional DIMMs.
Just waiting to see what we get..
I think we'll see MATX more with B850/B860 personally. In terms of processors I'm looking forward to seeing what Intel bring but AMD are certainly doing a very good job at the moment. I used Intel for 12 years before using an AMD rig I build and it's been excellent, I'd have no hesitations in swapping over and would suggest to think about it too once reviews are out for the CPUs.
You know what i think AMD needs it needs a ryzen 3 8200 and r3 8200g along with budget DDR5 16gb ram kits
With an affordable ITX, cause this isn't it 😅
@@jordanash Yeah of course obviously 🤣
Haha
Do you think this vrm can power a future 9800x3d with no performance lost? or do to its size and restrictions you wont be able to get full performance from your top end cpu?
I think you'd be fine for that, yeah. I wouldn't like to run a 9950X3D but the 9800 should be okay.
@@jordanash thanks for the responses man - I have one last question - the gen5 m.2 slot seems to only have a thermal pad for the top side of the ssd, what about 2 sided gen5 ssds like the t700? is the bottom of it just going to be floating in the air/ making limited contact with the chipset heatsink? Do you think you could put your own thermal pad on the bottom and press it into the chipset heatstink?
Anytime! It's got one too, you should be able to see it when I take the adapter/chunk off
@@jordanash Hmm - I only see a thermal pad that would hit the top side of the gen5 drive on the adapter you lifted off. I am concerned my 2 sided t700 (has some dram or controller on the bottom side) won't have proper cooling in this motherboard. But I could custom cut a thermal pad i buy separately to place on the bottom - tough to say.
Ah yeah I see, you could add one if you wanted. Does the drive come with a heatsink? If so, does it have a pad underneath?
sep 30th I wantt x870 itx board
Fair enough. Just an FYI, I've removed your other comments. First, you have no idea if this is junk, no one is even allowed to review it yet to come to that conclusion. Secondly, yes Asus had RMA issues, but we know, there's no need for a spammy comment.
I'm currently looking at a MSI MPG B760i Edge but would consider getting the one on your video if its cheaper (doubt it), kind of running out of options.
You know that's Intel? Just checking. But that's a great board, this will be $400 upwards.
@@jordanash I was gonna go for Intel or AMD depending on which one would be more affordable and better performance but both are similar
The B650-I is great, I have a video on that too.
Which case would be good for this motherboard ?
I'm using it in a MCPRUE Apollo 3.0, but something like the Hyte Revolt, Fractal Terra, something like that
cool, my style
Great ☺
sigh... is no one ever going to release an itx motherboard with 10Gbe networking :(
I'd gladly trade all this wifi for good old fashion 10G LAN.
I doubt it unfortunately ☹️ So would I! I much prefer hardwired and always tell people to use poweline adapters if they *need* wireless.
Love Your voice and presentation. Will Subs your channel also please do ITX and MAtk.
Thank you. Will do any I can get my hands on, but there are no mATX for this launch yet, I expect that'll be B850.
Very nice! Thank you! I have a feeling there might be a 2 pin power-on header near the gpu slot (for the front I/o) if you can double check please. Cheers.
No worries. I didn't notice anything for it, but I'll check Monday.
@@jordanash Thank you! Yeah, they are quite hidden in plain sight. They look more like temp sensors. I just remembered the x670e-i had the same layout and in the manual it shows the "power_btn" designation. No manual for the x870i yet 😅 Thanks again.
Yeah I looked for the manual too, there isn't one included now and the QR code hasn't been set yet either.
@@jordanash Ah wow. I presume after the embargo.
Probably, yeah.
when x870 -f ?
I haven't got one unfortunately, I've got an X870E-E, that's tomorrow.
Live now - ruclips.net/video/cOZbdjCQJUg/видео.html
When it comes out?
Have a Google and you'll find a date, unfortunately I can't say.
The Hive is a deal breaker and is a shame. . . Also no 2x Gen 5 PCI for the m.2 .
It would need to be X870E for two Gen 5 unfortunately
How about the noise of chipset fan ? As you know, the chipset fan of X670E ITX ASUS induced so much annoying noise. Someone tells the chipset fan could be turned off in bios. So, I was trying to do it, and it caused the high temperature (above 101 celsius) of chipset and system freezing, that is why it must be turned on. I strongly hope that it will be improved in X870 ITX generation.
Will use this in a build and see if they are any settings/talk about it then, but I'm not allowed to talk about performance until the official release.
@@jordanash You mean that is under embargo, right? Ok, I hope you will talk about that later.
Yup! I will do, I've got a couple of things to cover on this board.
@@jordanash I find that embargo was eliminated yesterday. So, you can talk about how the noise of chipset fan is at now.
Will be using it in a build soon to try it :)
Is there no audio out on the hub?
It's a headphone mic combo jack.
@@jordanash thanks for the quick answer, but how the hell do you make that work with a normal headset with 2 seperate jacks for audio and mic.
You can get splitters :) Shame they didn't include one though.
@@jordanash alright Thank you, yes that seems like a bit of an oversight for such an expensive board tbh!
Indeed!
มีอะไรที่แตกต่างไปจาก X670E-i บ้าง?
สิ่งสำคัญคือ Wi-Fi 7 และ USB 4
Do you know if any manufacturers are making any X870 Micro ATX boards? I can't find any info anywhere.
Haven't seen any announcements yet, I expect that'll come with B850.
I bought a Corsair 2500x computer case. I couldn't see the BTF motherboard in x870. Will it come out or not? Why don't you give information about this?
I didn't give info because there isn't any. No BTF boards have been announced for X870.
@@jordanash Thank you. We are living in 2024. BTF systems definitely need to become widespread. I have been collecting systems for years. I hate seeing cables on the front, now I am definitely waiting for the b870 micro atx btf motherboards to come out. I bought a Corsair 2500x btf case. I do not want to buy an Msi b650 project zero motherboard, the reason is the new micro atx motherboards. I'm waiting with respect.
I think it'll be a little while for X870 BTF, Asus announced a BTF board for Intel 15th Gen but it's not confirmed that it'll even be available at launch.
It's pretty much an Strix x670-i with a new name...
😬
When will this be available?
Google X870 launch 😉
October 24 release date
Not quite
Which country is this board built?
Taiwan, how come?
@@jordanash Thank you, trying to avoid west Taiwan stuff. :D and how much does it weight? you said it was beefy, how beefy are we talking about? 1kg?
Why? Slightly over maybe
I wish it had a error code display.
Yeah, the number readouts are very handy.
The hive has 4 lights that indicate the stage of the post with green lighting up if the board passed it 's test and prepares to boot the operating system.
I'm sure they mean a number readout display, like you get on the higher end boards, especially as I covered the Hive and the Q-LEDs in the video.
No audio output (line out) (mic) ???
The 3.5mm on the Hive is a combo jack.
I have x670e for future upgrade i have 4 pcie 5.0, and now 870e why ? They becoming like intel, why i pay 1 year ago 550 euros for motherboard that they released already new. Reason ? My motherboard support 9000 series so what is the difference ??? To spend another 550 euros to gain 0 fps.
They just add things, but the good thing about AM5 is you don't have to upgrade, and you can keep the same platform for a number of years.
@@jordanash True... but it is to early to release new motherboard...
There might be people that need USB 4 with that throughput.
you don't have to buy it
Yep, and there will be people that will. To each their own :)
that board is ugly af
Fair enough, different strokes for different folks.
@@jordanash good point. I really liked the much cleaner design of the b650e-i board. Looking forward to the rog strix b850-i from asus
Yeah that's a nice board. I will try and get one of those.
This motherboard is ass, it doesn’t even have a optical port
Yeah good point, surprised they didn't include that.
