Oct. 7th Day 36 - Still feeling light-headed, the elixir
didn’t wear off as quickly tonight. There is dried blood
under my fingernails.
Oct. 11th Day 40 - Awoke in a panic feeling like I’ve
forgotten something important. Inspector Newcomen
is watching me. I think he knows something is amiss.
Can’t find Bradshaw. Where has he gone off to?

It’s getting harder to control... rage is ever present.
Knocking at the door to my last shred of sanity.
Judgement Day -
I can barely remember my former life before I began this
journey. Feeling born again, renewed, stronger.
He still tries to surface from time to time...but, I can
safely say, Dr. Jekyll is no more.

Ok... I know this is a two-year old video. But, I have to say; you are NEVER too dark, in my opinion. This tome is superb and if I had the funds, I would commission something like this from you to-day. WOW... This is just so inspirational!

I saw Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde when I was a kid. I was always into the dark and creepy horror movies. I think you did a very good voice over describing his descent into madness. And the ephemera matches perfectly. Would make a nice prop for a creepy Halloween party. Good job!!!
Nic, this has to be my favourite journal EVER! I am a HUGE fan of the classics and this is one of the best! The images, pages, digi prints, blah blah, I could go on! This is a journal of pure genius and I LOVE IT xx Thank you for sharing and it was not too long, you did not 'ramble' at all.

This is the perfect book to have on an antique bookshelf full of mystery! Absolutely wonderful craftsmanship with the health book cover! I tend to shy away from morbid stories but I must say yours definitely had me intrigued ;) my favorite part is the amount of effort, love, and skill you showcased...truly unique!
Nik...your storytelling is the best. I totally get lost in your storytelling and love how each component of the book has its own story and a purpose? I am a huge classic movie fanatic and my most favorite version of Dr. Heckle and Mr. Hyde is with Spenser Tracey. I can't even find the right words to express how amazing this really is. The details and the old pages and and and! Then you pulled out that prescription ephemera with that blood splotch. WOW! LOVE the way you packaged it, and the progression of the story with all the ephemera bits. REALLY CLEVER! :-)

This is absolute GENIUS Nik! I love it!! Being a physician...and a psychiatrist at that...the medical aspect of this book drew me in, and since I am not too much a fan of the romantic and the frilly...the dark tones were just simply intriguing and alluring!! I wish I could own this beauty...but alas your successful auction is far beyond my reach! So PLEASE don't think it's too dark or stop making pieces like these...I hope to own one with a similar one like this some day!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE everything about this journal!!!!! I love how you illustrated his "transition," and the vintage pieces are amazing as always. The idea for the camouflage cover is genius. No its not too dark!!! And Baudelaire is one of my favorite poets. His work is perfect for this story. 😍😍😍😍😍

You done an amazing job on this journal Nik. I love how you turned the original book as the case. I pick up 2 very old vintage medical books one 1875 the other 1935 about 10 mths ago and find it very hard to pull it apart. The 1875 one is about the reproductive system in humans and animals, but mostly on humans, the book plates are just amazing to see. Sometimes I wish I don't pick up books such as these as I can't bare to pull them apart when they are in fantastic condition, like you only when they are falling apart....beautiful work yet again Nik - Kirstie

Wow!!! This is so freaking awesome!! I so love your take on Dr Jekyll and Hyde. I love this kind of stuff! I would love to make something like this. I'm finishing up my first ever junk journal that I made for my husband. It's so cool and completely tailored to him. Lots of sci fy bits and other things he's into. Next I'm making a dark journal for my sister. These take quite a lot of time, I didn't realize. You have been such an inspiration to me and I hope to be as good at making these as you someday. I'd like to start selling them but I'll guess we'll see. Ok thanks for sharing this. Hugs 😘

Every book journal I watch gets more interesting. You did a fantastic job presententing Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. I agree with your thoughts about the evil in Dr Jekyll and his wanting the ability to be able to release it. What's a better way to release the evil ☠than to become someone else? The restrictions in that day and age to always act proper must have been a burden on Dr Jekyll. I'm glad that you took the time 🕑 to go through the entire journal and tell us what is happening, I hope the person who gets the book appreciates it greatly. I loved the story you told but the book isn't one I would enjoy having around. ♥️

Hi Nik, you've created a really stunning unique journal. No, this isn't too dark (in my mind) as I love anything spooky, mysterious, dark and sinister! And Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde is darkish, so it fits. Very cool, I haven't seen one of those boxes they slide into for a long time. No didn't go too dark. I do special fx and fake blood is my specialty, love horror movies, so this is right in that genre. I'm going to have to watch the movies again, been a long time. Definitely inspired to do a themed. Have a couple of large books, I'm still trying to figure out how I'd to the pages to fit for the size. LOVE that you used period paper for the writing, nice touch.
