The first thing I thought when I seen the euro rack setup was “I need to own this, finally a massive drone that can fit in my house. My second thought was “my wife is gonna kill me”
That's a familiar thought process. If you're anything like me, that's not even close to the first time you've had that thought. It's actually kind of funny. I used to joke about buying a pipe organ and cutting holes in the ceiling of our apartment to accommodate it. I wasn't serious but she'd be all "No! Don't you dare.". Even though she knew I was joking, she also knew that it wasn't something that was COMPLETELY out of the question for me. Lol. But dude actually does it. LMNC owns a pipe organ. It made my day when I saw that video.

Loved the "old guy nagging" bit.... The concert sounded amazing and really liked the fact that you each brought something unique to the performance...and wow...the mega drone was sweeet.....also, the filterererer grrrr is giving me GAS
Seeing you guys playing live, it reminds me of the German electronic bands of the early seventies, and in a strange way of my own live adventures. Power and speed to you all.
I enjoyed this entire video a lot! 60+ years ago, my brothers and I used to go into National Electronics or Radio Shack and buy nearly any electronic component that was made at the time. I miss those days. We made touch switches for lights, a radio, a metronome, an emergency power-out light, a party crasher (siren in a box), and some other gizmos. We never thought to try synth sounds.
gotta say: with all those build videos and crazy stuff going on here, I keep forgetting that we got a freakin capable musician here as well... lovely little bit from the concert.... can't wait to see it
Another great video , as always, and at about 4.40 the sound almost sounds like Gary numan - are friends electric, Thankyou for the great content and best of luck with the future of the channel, and this museum is not obsolete, take care dude 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Dang son! You know these components and their functions like you know how to breathe! The way you describe the sounds is like a language! You think and speak literally in those terms! It's incredible to watch a master at his craft. Forget Itzach Perlman! I wish I spoke it. Carry on, me droogie.
That was great actually. I was practicing my arpeggios while watching the video. There was enough harmonic crust going on that moving through the entire circle of fifths never resulted in anything too out.
I like how those 7-segments shimmer in sync. And I didn't notice the problem the camera focus, but funky focus like that has a name, it's "bokeh"! Or in this case, maybe more like "brokeh".
More sound candy into my headphones and straight on my brain! Yes you have too much time on your hands but I think of a better use when there's electronics and sound involved.
When you said arpeggiating filter ca 9:30, it reminded me of the only synth I've ever made, at a hackerspace in Bergen once. Can't remember the name of it, but it can certainly reproduce the arpeggiating sound you made here! If I ever find the paper again I will post the name, the circuit didn't have any markings :/ a 9v battery, a power switch, and four knobs, and if you positioned two of them right the third one made this type of effect (the fourth was volume I think).
11:19 I loved this. You often sound like you're rapping. I like it. One day, I might get off my arse and sample your words for a very niche, experimental tune.
Wow, again an impressive presentation of synth tech 😍 In case one wants to get into the DIY synth game, what project/synth do you suggest to build first and what are good sources of knowledge?
People pay a fortune to get a lens that causes "fuzzy" round the edges and background. 🤣🤣 great video 2x👍 Ant it time you got a reel job?? 😱 🤣🤣 some people 🤷♂
Just bagged the 1114 and the 1222. Really good friends with my Schlappi case (now known as the unstable funkycircuit case) Faaaaanks! p.s signed up as well. p.p.s the Organ videos have been inspirational. Even beats the Synth Bike (alot)
@@LOOKMUMNOCOMPUTER Were they silicon or germanium diodes? to my ears at least (and some of the scope-plots I've looked at) germanium has a slightly softer edge, and putting them in parallel with silicon makes them even softer. My favourite homebrew fuzz is like that, and It's called the brown-trouser fuzz, which givves some idea of how lovely it is.
The weird thing with this is I sampled the 100 oscillators playing the C note and then looped etc Inserted into a sampler plugin. Sounded pretty good. But then I opened my GForce SEM module and the first preset sounded exactly the same! (with just 3 oscillators!!!) Except way better tonally and with much more depth. Just goes to show it takes 100 of these oscillators to sound about the same as 3 Oberheim oscillators.
What's with the random set of bike cranks on the desk? are you building some sort of pedal powered synth to challenge drum and base on a bike? I'd travel to see that.
this also makes a great analogue computer... don't panic, not gonna tell your mum.

If you have seen sam's laptop with the broken screen... I think the fuzzy vignette is here to stay. It's kinda a cool look anyways.

Introducing the Look Mum, No Drinking Game. One shot of whiskey every time Sam says "funky" in the video. Caution: Some videos may result in death...
2 shots if he says lovely jubbly!
The way the three of your individual weirdnesses meld together is really nice.
It's not "broken lens," it's "artistic license!" 😁 Looking forward to the appearance of that performance on Patreon. 👍
gravitational lens?
The Oszillators sounded like I'd imagine the Mechanicus praying to the Omnissiah.
Ridicule the know-it-alls.
YES!
Thank you.

I can't wait to hear 100 VCA's all at once 🤪👋
That live show was absolutely amazing from what I saw on the tubez, .the lighting was on point and your performances even more so!
Got goosebumps on that performance. Fantastic!

For me more like i feel love by Donna summer
8:18 almost sounds like the Excitebike game, when you use your turbo to take off faster after crashing.
oh man that sneak peak was amazing

Wow, the sensibilities of three very different artists come together to form a sum that's bigger than its individual parts :). Beautiful
4:46 when you added the delay/reverb, that was when I knew. This is Peak Synth.
I would probably listen to 2 or 3 hours of that 100 oscillator setup playing a single chord.
Only recorded about 30 minutes. Perhaps I’ll post the full unedited takes for interest.
Yes Christian! Do it definitely

YES!!!
Drones 4 life
They sound amazing together!! 100 note polyphony next?? LOL That filter is the best thing though. That was brilliant!
thanks to christian for all that work setting this up!
Thanks for showing me things I never thought about. And keep wasting time. It's quite productive.
Most things you are talking about I do not understand at all. But the noise and the blinken lights are funny. Great stuff, much enjoyed.
Damn, I love those dudes too. Stoked to hear what you guys did, I had no idea you were collaborating.
So cool you are working with Christian Bloch. One of my favorite producers
Aww, thank you!
I like how those 7-segments shimmer in sync.

DAMN! Love ❤️ ❤️❤️ your work! so much fun! Thank you xx
boy is video gave my 5.1 sound system a workout and it sounded great
I could watch an entire video with your grumpy critic voice, Sam. It never fails to crack me up.
Awesome as ever Sam, please don't ever change!
Sick! Really like it nice work
More sound candy into my headphones and straight on my brain! Yes you have too much time on your hands but I think of a better use when there's electronics and sound involved.
Are you sure you're not an alien?
Wow the things you do are from beyond this planet sir ;)
Dude you should make a song with the sounds at 11:55 in the video! It would sound sick!!
Stranger Things…
@@dmccallie It Sounds sick if he added a kick drum!

@@LOOKMUMNOCOMPUTER that's the one! :D not as sweet as the ones in the vid though!

You are making some godly powerful modules these days
This video has been brought to you by the patch cable industrial complex.
Beautiful demo! 🙌
19:12 Gary Numan liked this :D
Also that nice crisp show lighting is awesome. ERSes and some Hazers, maybe some light strobing for effect. Elegance in simplicity.
Glad I'm not the only one who was looking at the lighting and admiring the result.
oh man, I know cuckoo. He's made some nice presets for the microkorg. Good to see him again!
Memories of King of Snake in that sequence.
"That's just not how it's done! Blurbelderblurb", is basically what the community is all about. :)
this is pushing the limits of no computer, i bet you could calculate pi on this thing
Somebody sample that "its not how its done" into something awesome
Good on ya Christian, stripping your synth and plugging in 100 oscillators is a huge undertaking!
Yeah he’s the dude!
Would have been less work if I didn’t have to build and calibrate them all first 🤣

you have the partience of steel
Wow! Decompressed is phenomenal. I hope you do a little more!
Can't wait to see what you guys came up with!
You're one cool cat with a big organ (not featured here). Nice gear and mighty fine band!
Keep expecting this to break into "Also Sprach Zarathustra"
Oh man, please bring that spring reverb to eurorack!
No One Bother Buying a new Lens! i like the natural haze effect
Oh man, can’t wait to see the full performance.
your videos never fail to entertain me. I just don't think I'll ever have the time to see then all. keep it up.
Taking unison mode to an entirely new level!!!
I did 64 VCOs in VCV Rack once, after the fiest 10 or so it doesn't really add anything. Hardware looks a lot cooler though!
Finally, a new level of drone has been reached.
love what the other guys have and are doing
All in all it can sound normal to pretty funky, 11:50. But can it sound like The Ultrafunkular ha ha ha.
11:19 I loved this. You often sound like you're rapping. I like it. One day, I might get off my arse and sample your words for a very niche, experimental tune.
That sounded beautifully evil.
Little bit of a Robert Fripp feel in parts - can’t wait to hear the full performance 👍🏻
That filter is just…. I have no words so I’ll make one: it’s, um… flurpy

13:04 and 19:20 . . . Like old school Tangerine Dream!
This channel is dangerously close to making me buy a synth. >.
goodness, is anyone else hearing sounds that remind them of Daft Punk's Tron: Legacy soundtrack?? fan-bloody-tastic.
You’re quite an electronic genius
You guys are sooooo cool. If you need a guitarist, hmu. I've been watching ZOIA videos for a week, that's definitely next.
Amazing
I watch your videos through a cracked phone screen, so I didn't even notice the blurriness. 😂😂
The #1114 sounds fantastic, so Kraftwerk, so C-64😀😀😀👍
Noticing your MS10 doesn't have the momentary switch!!! Just being nerdy!! Lovely filter btw
I like your funny words, magic man
I like the new lens, don't change it!
How 'bout a mechanical noise generator now?
"Clipping circuit that isn’t Diode Clipping… It literally works by just turning everything up too much." :)
yep hahaha
did try it with diode clipping, it didnt have the desired effect on the circuit
BTW I have one of the 1222 VCO's and I love it. Looking forward to getting a grrrererer filter.
