The original Gameboy had a base-plate of prefabulated aluminite, surmounted by a malleable logarithmic casing in such a way that the two main spurving bearings were in a direct line with the pentametric fan. The latter consisted simply of six hydrocoptic marzlevanes, so fitted to the ambifacient lunar waneshaft that side fumbling was effectively prevented. The main winding was of the normal lotus-o-delta type placed in panendermic semi-bovoid slots in the stator, every seventh conductor being connected by a non-reversible tremie pipe to the differential girdlespring on the "up" end of the grammeters. But I think MIDI is the way to go.
For two sentences I was thinking: This person knows things! Then I read on and realised... they're making this up. The lotus-o-delta type was NEVER used and anyone who took even one class of flagronomics would know that, because it would obviously spiral out the Leman-Böhring values beyond the fractal baseline. Also, I don't think girdlespring is even a word, unless you just mispelled birflespin, which can be differential but you'd see that in very high-end glastiometers only.
I'm just glad they resolved all the retro-encabulation modial duractance issues when rolling out the slim model. Although some people think the old Fatboy model sounded better because of that.
I once did not appreciate full synth electronic music. After hearing you and you allowing me into your amazing creative world. I have seen the light! Thanks
That song you whipped up is actually a real banger, man. Stunningly capable device. I use MIDI for lighting and VJing (video mixing), in theory I could make the whole room a psychedelic whirlpool using just one of those
One of my favorite underground groups in my local area back in the 2000s was Sonic Death Rabbit, they used the Gameboy to make lots of stuff like beats and used it in live performances it was the dopest thing I ever seen musically, their performance.
With several Gameboy based projects I really want to see a collab with Chipzel. She's been my favorite gameboy based musician for years now (she does other stuff as well btw) ever since I heard the soundtrack to Super Hexagon
Thank you for reminding me that LSDJ is still a thing. My cart is ancient (23 years old!) and I haven't touched it in ages. Time to dig it out of the basement.
That's what I got my Nintendo DS for, although I haven't spent much time with it. Connects wirelessly via RTPmidi and just works as an ordinary MIDI keyboard/controller. From there, the only limit is the MIDI protocol itself. With the right DS homebrew and some practice it can be a really fun input device.
Starting at time stamp 6:50 sounds like eyeliner thickly painted wings or like Robert Smith's. Next is harmony, sounding a bit like lip gloss. Finally the next bit, sounding like glitter, powder, hairspray. Amazing.
I was introduced to LSDJ by bands like We Are Enfant Terrible (take a listen to I Can't Help Myself) and Seal of Quality (Switch is a masterpiece), at the time I didn't really get the urge to write music with this powerful program 😅 The first band used different solutions to use it on stage such as emulation via PC, then on Nintendo DS, but their had pitch issue if Iremember correctly... the last one used modified Gameboys on stage.
@LOOKMUMNOCOMPUTER I have a question about MIDI OUT for LSDJ. With the Trash80 schematic, latest arduinoboy code, and LSDJ 9.3.3 (for AB), MIDI OUT messages appear to be unintelligible. I see MIDI signals but it's not anything I would expect, and no NOTE ON messages. Is there a specific version of any of these I should be using or something I need to change in the circuit? I am using an arduino nano. Thanks
Have you ever heard of a guy called DJ Scotch Egg? Look up and read about his album 'KFC Core' Its a whole gabba techno album made using a Gameboy midi sequencer... performed live using said gameboy and sequencer. Some sort of colab in order maybe? 😊
Almost anything can be a sequencer if you're clever enough about it. The Gameboy is no exception. Now how well each works is another thing, but the Gameboy proves relatively reasonable as well.
you're so damn rad. thanks for this. Always wanted to do stuff with Arduino. A question; can this arduino app sync as slave for internal sound synced with other instruments? is there something else that does that? thank you!
Or-gan! Or-gan! Or-gan! Nice beats. The GB looks like it's a little more difficult to work with than a keyboard or a keyboard (you know what I mean) but it's stupidly portable.
Привет! А можно ли управлять usb геймпадом эффектами гитарной педали или синтезатором? Я мечтаю о таком, у меня всё это есть но я не знаю как это соединить, а ты кажется гений в этом смысле. Помоги пожалуйста.

The lack of side fumbling is the only reason I do not use this. A serious, and, frankly, unforgivable impediment.
Is the foremost osmium-rictured solenoid connected to a multiphased centrifugal coolant pump? The demispheric slots in the stator suggest otherwise.
Just what I was thinking.
So now I'm waiting for the Gameboy controlled church organ. 🙂 👍
Or playing a game on the church organ keyboard?
Make it so...
YESS
is it in LMNC patreon?/
Good news!
So sick! The demo song you did was an absolute banger!!
I once did not appreciate full synth electronic music. After hearing you and you allowing me into your amazing creative world. I have seen the light! Thanks
Gameboy controller organ didn't know I needed it but I do now. Can't wait for your next video!

That looks like so much fun. Sounds great!

The horror that poor Gameboy has been through over the years. Bless.
Game Boy controlled church organ, here we go! 🤘🤘

Built in arduinoboy is hardcore.
Sam, awesome as ever! Thanks for making Barking Mad Content! 🙂🙂
Mate, you videos never cease to amaze, your blessed 🎉
Next - playing a game on the church organ keyboard!
Please make more Gameboy videos. They are so entertaining and great seeing these bad boys perform.
Agreed!

Good recommendations 👍
Great... awesome track by the way. This is by far the craziest channel I've ever seen and I'm freaking love the content :D
So I guess there will be a "Gameboy playing organs"-video soon enough, lol.

Another amazing video!
Another MIDI controlled machine: The church organ
i really enjoy the way your music makes me feel somtimes
Oh no, I just found out Catskull Electronics have shut down, guess there won't be a restock of Arduinoboy Pro's I've been waiting for for ages :(
When you were sitting programming I was reminded of (then) Walter Carlos in the promo photos for Switched On Bach.
gameboy megamachine vs organ battle?
The Return!
Think big man. Gameboy+Arduino drives mini cooper😂
Have you ever heard of a guy called DJ Scotch Egg?
Look up and read about his album 'KFC Core'

¡Gracias!
The maddest of lads goes ham once again 🏆🏆🏆🏆
would love to here a full song done by you and the gameboy lsdj
4:44 Anyone else start going "badger badger badger" along to this? Just me?
Im beginning to think he buys these arduinos in bulk
Gameboychestral Manouevres in the not quite so Dark.

Yes
GameBoy controling the GameBoy MegaMashine !
Gameboy + organ = very extreme :)
Two videos in a week? Nice.
Thank video. Good work
Control the organ!!
I like how you know why the Arduino died but didn't fix the cause and simply repaired the affect
I did fix the cause?
song is suitable for a halloween theme
a gameboy controlling a bunch of gameboys!
... and a Furby choir singing hymns.
Or-gan! Or-gan! Or-gan!
Nice beats. The GB looks like it's a little more difficult to work with than a keyboard or a keyboard (you know what I mean) but it's stupidly portable.
How about a preprogrammed lead solo controller for the game boy mega machine!
Spooky sound for spooky season
Hope the next machine is the Game boy Mega Machine! 👀💥
In The Pipe Organ.
Because the POs are too mainstream hahaha.
I love it!!
It must be the organ!
Ahh this takes me back to those chiptunes days with mGB, nanoloop and lots of time xD
somewhere up there, joan will be going "oh, that damn kid- now what's he doing?" & laughing.
What happens when you out a ordinary game in it, like tetris? What would that sound like?
This is exactly what I use my Polyend Tracker for 😅
Might have to mod a Gameboy for this :).
KODAK batteries!!!
7:27 Song starts
This might be a daft question but Sam, are you aware of the M8 tracker from the creator of the arduinoboy?
Yes :)
It's cool! But I never bought one.
Midi controlled vehicle throttle/engine rev? 😝
I think the misterious machine might be tge organ or the GameBoy megamachine...but..we'll see hahah
Ok Sam .. a gameboy controlled TARDIS ... 😉
Can a game boy control the sega mega drive thing or is that blasphemy?
I guess The Organ ;)
Naaa
Joke btw
it is the organ. but shhhhhhhh
I hope for the organ...
You could midi-control your Mini
Is the flame throwing organ midi? Does it even exist anymore?
I like your background musics 3:32 😂 3:37
Huh?
KEWL!
I've been wanting to make a Raspberry Pi module that runs LSDJ lately. Mostly cause I want a module that runs Doom lol
Love MIDI but I'm surprised its still in use and relevant.
Great use for a Gameboy.
Fantastic update 2x👍
If it isn't broke no need to fix it.
The fact that there's workarounds for most issues doesn't mean it's not broken. :)

good stuff 👍😎👍
This is like having a 16-year-old student driver behind the wheel of a Formula-1 race car... Sounds good until the crash, right?

You've turned a GameBoy into a GameMan (be carefulw how you say that)

Ah, yes. Furbies.

Now make it wireless :)
But wires are nice

You should make a tutorial for school electronics class, or a box set comp.
M8 headless can do this.
Indeed! It isn't a gameboy tho. Hence a video on a gameboy and not an m8 headless :D
Dirty wave developed by same side who did arduiboboy
Look how he massacred my 'boy.
