I also have a BMP6k but found the Cineluxe 21 a bit small when the cam is fully rigged up with rail , battery and matte box with arms. I bought the Cine luxe 24 which accommodates it nicely and now use the 21 for swallowing up all the sound recording gear.
Tenba is great. I have a bag that I still use from 30 years ago. This is basically an ENG style bag. Agreed this is great for documentary, ENG, run and gun style shoots.
I've been through so many different bags and cases, Tenba holds up. Sacthler has a great doctor style camera bag as well. They're so great when on location and having to move quick (assuming you don't need to trek much).
Update for everyone: I've been using this bag for over a month now and it's been an absolute game changer. The build quality is 10/10 and I can't recommend it enough. If you're on the fence about buying it, do it. You will not regret it.
Great, infomrative video! I got my eye on a Cinelux Roller 21. I've had a Tenba Shootout backpack for over a decade and I love it. It took me months to find all the hidden storage areas. And it hasn't dropped a stitch in a decade of travel and primary use. But I mostly need a roller.
If you mount the monitor at the front of the handle with that small rig adapter, it should fit in a regular 21 being just under 9 in and possibly more comfortable to carry. Some handles have the cold shoe part at the front which would be better than screws.
That looks really good! I picked up the WANDRD PRVKE 31 and it's great... for photography. As soon as you put a cage on the camera it can't come out of the side pocket and you're putting the bag face down on the ground (and I made the mistake of getting a light colored one) and building a kit. I love how easy it seems to have a fully built rig ready to go here.
It really is a great bag for filmmakers! I still intend to use my Wandrd bags though, especially for travel and smaller kits, as I love them! For me this Tenba one serves a different purpose and is a nice addition to my kit :)
I have been using both the normal and tall versions of this bag for over 3 years. It is extremely durable and has held up well. My only dislike is that end pockets are hard to access when the bag is fully closed. Other than that, it’s a great bag.
Nice. I love my camera bag from Shape but that’s a a hefty one. Definitely looking for something smaller to hold the essentials for travel. This may be it!
I thought about that bag for the same reasons. I ended up going with the Arco Video Dr. Bag 40 because when I went to purchase the Tenba last year it was out of stock and the Dr. Bag was on sale.
So glad you made this review, I have been telling my customers about these bags for ages and would love the 21 backpack. I went to get it but was out of stock and got the lpwepro instead
@@suzKawasaki @suzKawasaki I wouldn't get that much for my lowepro honestly and lowepro is absolutely fine and good bags well made, my second choice! How come they aren't pro? Nothing wrong with them imo. Bit vanilla though get the job done. While I am also not a pro. As for tenba I only like their cinelux range. So it comes to preference. Both are quality products though and I recommend them both to my customers.
Great video as always! I am quite torn between the 21 Hightop and the 24.. They seem very similar, I have a similar setup as yours, with a BMPCC 6K Pro, Tilta cage and some anamorphic GreatJoy lenses. Also V-Mount battery at the back of the camera could make me need to go with the 24 version. Let's see! Cheers
Thanks!! I was asking myself the same question and picked the 21L since I already had quite a few bags and I needed this one for a specific reason. Keep me posted :)
Thank you!! Very strong from what I can tell so far! Especially since the bottom is super padded and the top has metal 'bars' for rigidity. The sides might be the 'weakest' parts.
Very impressive and although I have too many bags, I'm interested in this and a few others on their website. Can you indicate how decent the protective padding is on the bottom and sides for the gear inside? I got the Alpaka Element Backpack with Camera Cube (recent Kickstarter) and the padding for the Cube when it's not inside the backpack is woeful.
Great video (as always). I've used the Lowepro ProTactic BP450 for a few years now and I'm always having to re-configure it, and I never seem to be able to get everything where I want it + there is all the rig assembly time. I've considered bags like this in the past but was concerned about protection for a built-rig. I think this video will push me over the edge to try one.
Thanks man!! Glad you found the video helpful, they are such useful bags. Perfect for what I need it for and very happy I decided to get one. I still love my backpacks and I will keep using them but the two types don't clash and have different use and purposes in my case :)
It's funny, I also use the Tenba Cineluxe as well as the Prvke 41L - so that's two bags we have in common 😆 I use the Cineluxe 21 to keep a built-out run&gun Komodo setup.. wish I had the high-top version but I wanted a version that would also work for carry-on :)
Those camera wraps are a great added extra. I love this bag, but I have the 21 hitop and I haven't seen to many reviews on it saying it's carry on acceptable . That is the only possible downside I see to it. This is a great review of the bag.
I have to take a look at the products of this brand. The ideal, for me, would be to find a bag where you can put both gear and clothes for a 2-3 day trip (perhaps with a false bottom). Obviously the equipment must be compact (travel tripod, camera no bigger than the BMPCC 6K etc.) and then I have to cross my fingers that they let me pass it all as hand luggage. Let's see.
I am sure you could get a bigger one and be able to find a way to make this work :). Maybe the Roller versions? Hand luggage is always tough and risky but I always try my best to stay under the limit just by fear of having to check it in haha!
hi there.I have a Sachtler Dr Bag 3 but I need something bigger. I know that getting a bigger bag becomes a "problem" because videgraphers tend to overload them and then they are too heavy to carry...but I have a Sony camcorder PXW-Z200 and a Sony FX30 and accessories and I would like them to be in the same bag for when they are needed. Did you consider the Shape Camera bag or the Tenba Cineluxe 24? I wonder how the Shape and the Tenba would compare in terms of functionality, how easy is to access gear, etc etc...thanks!
Well, they are out of stock until end of October in Europe. Used your code but the next day I received the news (and a refund). Any alternatives besides Sachtler?
Yes, Unfortunately I’ve seen a lot of the bags are not in stock 😕 And no, I actually haven’t used or tried any other brands that offer something similar so I can’t really recommend any alternatives.
Yes, I do. Aside from my product shots and talking head on YT which are shot with a mix of Aputure lights, I use artificial lights for a lot of my documentary interviews. I still shoot client work that I don’t share here on YT and more often than not I use lights ☺️
Not really the same style and use so quite hard to compare. The Tenba can fit more in a different way but the Wandrd is more comfortable and lightweight.
Hi, does IS of Canon 24-205 f4 IS L (Version 1) will work with Metabones 0.71 on latest Firmware of bmpcc. I found just old 3 year articles. They said that it doesnt work anymore after some firmware update of bmpcc. But i think it must be fixed?
Here is my review of the Tenba Cineluxe 21 Hightop shoulder bag.
I really wish I had discovered this sooner!
Cheers,
Flo

Nice combo! That's why I got the Hightop version of the 21 but yes the 24 is much bigger :)
Tenba is great. I have a bag that I still use from 30 years ago. This is basically an ENG style bag. Agreed this is great for documentary, ENG, run and gun style shoots.
Thanks for watching!! The bags are super sturdy and I am not surprised you still have one after all these years! Glad I got one :)
I've been through so many different bags and cases, Tenba holds up. Sacthler has a great doctor style camera bag as well. They're so great when on location and having to move quick (assuming you don't need to trek much).
100%, so quick to get shooting and very sturdy!

Thanks for sharing your feedback :) !!

Thank you!! I haven't tried the Rollers but I am pretty sure they are as good as the backpacks and shoulder bags. They sure make sturdy bags!
J'ai le même depuis quelques mois et c'est le meilleur "accessoire" que j'ai pu prendre avec la BMPCC👍
Ils sont vraiment au top!!
I love my Tenba bags, all 6 six of them haha - I'm glad you like them too. Im
Looking to be the roadie doctor bag next
Haha, you can never have too many camera bags!!
Thanks for watching mate!
literally bought this after watching this. this bag is so useful.
Thanks for watching!! Such a great/useful bag :)
Awesome review, thanks! Im debating whether to get this or just use a storage container with and ICU I already have 😂.
Watched several times your bag movie and bought it for my Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 4K camera😊 Thank you for making this great content 💪👍
Congrats!! Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it ☺️
Such a convenient case, to be able to securely transport the kit without repeatedly breaking and building it is a dream.
100%, can't believe it took this long for me to get one haha!!

That is exactly what I was looking for. THANK YOU!
Glad you liked it!!

Such great bags!! And yes, I agree about the end pockets. I actually don’t use them or always forget about them. I prefer to use the longer side one.
Nice. I love my camera bag from Shape but that’s a a hefty one. Definitely looking for something smaller to hold the essentials for travel. This may be it!
Thanks!! I highly recommend these, super useful and well made :)
I thought about that bag for the same reasons. I ended up going with the Arco Video Dr. Bag 40 because when I went to purchase the Tenba last year it was out of stock and the Dr. Bag was on sale.

Thanks for watching mate! And yes, I saw a few of them were not in stock, hopefully they will be back soon.
You should return the Lowepro or sell it and then buy the Tenba. Tenba is pro-gear and lowepro is for general consumers.
@@suzKawasaki @suzKawasaki I wouldn't get that much for my lowepro honestly and lowepro is absolutely fine and good bags well made, my second choice! How come they aren't pro? Nice video! Do you shoot everything with npf batteries?
Thanks! I did, yes.
Excellent review! How strong, impact resistant is this bag?
Thank you!! Very strong from what I can tell so far! Especially since the bottom is super padded and the top has metal 'bars' for rigidity. The sides might be the 'weakest' parts.

You should get the shimoda version. It has wheels

Haha, nice! They make for a pretty good combo with both their strengths and use. How do you like your Komodo?
Those camera wraps are a great added extra. I love this bag, but I have the 21 hitop and I haven't seen to many reviews on it saying it's carry on acceptable . That is the only possible downside I see to it. This is a great review of the bag.
According to B and H, it's not carry on acceptable.

Damn, seems I'm going to have 5th camera bag :D (apart of my 2 peli cases).
Haha sorry! Hard to resist this one :)
Do you shoot anything with artificial lights? e.g LED lights. Or do you just shoot with natural night period!
Yes, I do. Aside from my product shots and talking head on YT which are shot with a mix of Aputure lights, I use artificial lights for a lot of my documentary interviews. I still shoot client work that I don’t share here on YT and more often than not I use lights ☺️
My 24 hightop lid won’t stay open which kinda defeat the propose of doctor style bag. Have you got any experience like this?
Not yet, sorry to hear this has happened to you!
How is this compared to the Wandrd 41l?
Not really the same style and use so quite hard to compare. The Tenba can fit more in a different way but the Wandrd is more comfortable and lightweight.
Hi, the bag looks big, is this allowed to put on airline cabin?
Hi, as I mention in the video the 16 and 21 regular are carry on size. You can double check on the website ☺️

Is the 21 Hightop carry on?
I don't think so, the regular one yes but not the hightop.
We left out the tripod!
Great, purchased the same.😎
Nice! Thanks for watching :)
can you take the 21 High Top on a Plane? thank you
I don’t think it’s carry on size. The regular 21 is if I remember correctly :).
