There are several audience recordings of them live at Disney World's Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, going back to when Tony Wakim was still with them to 2019 with J. None, doing about a 15-minute set. One year Eli wanted "tickets to The Last Jedi." Geoff still wanted the Tinkerbell dress and did the hair-poof gesture instead of an arabesque. And yes, Layne did the sleigh bell sounds, live. They have fun and don't mind looking dumb (Geoff's words) while doing so. It's obvious they work hard AND have fun. They recorded another with DeeJay while he was in town with Hamilton but we don't know when it will be out.
Deejay also joined them in "Bang", "You're My Best Friend", "Man in the Mirror" and "Butter". All of them great (Bang and Man in the Mirror are some of my personal VP favourites)!
DeeJay has done several songs with VoicePlay - my favorite is Man In The Mirror, You're My Best Friend, Bang, Butter, mini or short - Mr Sandman. All good. This one is beautifully set and so much fun. Go Tinkerbell!
Geoff certainly does embrace his inner Disney princess with a smile, hilarious! I don't know if I'm just too old or it wasn't really known in the UK but I'd never heard this before, loved their rendition tho'. Amazing vocals all round and so much fun! Geoff will be releasing his Christmas video soon. Probably a few days or so. Pattycake Productions also just filmed a Christmas video and that also will be released soon. Pattycake Productions is owned by Layne and former member Tony Wakim. That's where Voiceplay and Geoff's videos are filmed along with other artists. They also do all original videos. Tony and Layne write, produce, arrange, direct and edit. Tony makes all the costumes. They've had the company since 2016.
Before Voiceplay did this, the song made me cringe, every time. Now - I love it because every member of Voiceplay is a freaking musical genius. And Deejay's voice is unbelievable. Go back to a couple of older pieces by Voiceplay, Bang! and Butter. Both of those showcase that incredibly high riffing.
I didn't know the song previously, too old for chipmunks and being British too, just never knew it but I have seen a video of them doing it live in one of their Christmas shows. Anyway this was a lot of fun.
The song was first released and became a hit in 1958-the movie came later. My older brother had the record and I hoped it was still around, since I have a bunch of old 45’s, but nope.

The tempo of the original song was 3/4 and after Voiceplay’s nod to the original at the very beginning with just three of them, they switched to 4/4. Oh, and “A tweet from Musk would make me grin,” was not in the original ether, ha! Yes, Deejay is in one of the touring companies of Hamilton, playing Burr/Hamilton. The company was in Orlando when they did this.
