- This is a brief look at the American Subculture of people living in their vehicles; nomads, if you will. I attended an annual get-together called the Rubber Tramp Rendezvous in Quartzite, AZ in January, 2024. I lived the culture for two weeks meeting many interesting, talented, and resourceful people. Here are some of their stories. Watch with an open mind.
As always, everything you see, and hear happened during my filming. No stock footage, or production sound was used. I filmed everything on my Samsung S21 ultra phone.

You can get outside and enjoy the outdoors without living in a car! It’s still an illusion of freedom, there are many cost to living in a vehicle and being nomadic even if it’s not monetary, been there done that for a few years with plenty of money and I took my ass back to a house. Enjoy it while you can because it won’t last, most of you won’t be able to afford gas In The coming years 😉

Single solo women beware,,somebody is attacking women in Quartzsite at night,,don't park there ,,it could be your last time,
As she said in the video, the RTR caters to people who are in financial distress. It didn't used to be that way, in the begining they were much more about a (non-financial or only partially financial) choice to live in the great outdoors, traveling with the seasons. That's where I got my start with the RTR, most of us don't attend anymore for that reason.

it is what it is!
I attended the 2024 RTR and I think these people are so brave and bold to be LIVING their lives. I can't go full time, so I still have a sticks and bricks that I stay at most of the year.
