- I decided to hit the road with the Nikon D850 and head out west from my capital city in Queensland, Australia. I LOVE road trips and especially with the D850 packed with all my gear. This is the first of a series of videos I created before the lockdown doing landscape, wildlife and astro photography from this remote location. You sir are an inspiration, best video Ive seen this year. We just purchased our horse farm next to a national forrest that abuts to the Gulf of Mexico, its pitch black here at night with the stars in abundance. I did not realize Nikon made a cooled D850 for astro.

Ah, do envy you your dark skies out there mate! Hopefully I'll be out and doing some soon when we get our campervan but I doubt we will find skies as dark as that mate. Cracking shot, at least you waited long enough to get dressed before that sprint up the hill😂👍

That first Milky Way photo is incredible. Just incredible. I can never get a decent photo of the sky. I have tried maybe a dozen times and have never been successful. I would have been happy with the second photo just to be honest.

Amazing Adrian!!! Too much light pollution where I life😩 but we will try to catch the Perseiden shower tomorrow night if it is not raining. This summer was crazy. Instead of 35-40 degrees we had 20-25 and almost all day rain. Greetings from Switzerland Claudia

Adrian, for me, that was your best video that I have watched to date! Firstly, I loved seeing you able to travel a bit again. I have been waiting for one of you guys to venture a bit more westward in your state and I loved every minute of it. Gorgeous little accommodation and came complete with a fantastic little furry friend. What more could you ask? Oh wait, stunning astrophotography! A couple of stunners there but that one at 6:07...wow! So good! I can't wait to see the following videos from this location! Hope you are doing well and keeping safe through various lockdowns. Florida has become the epicenter on the planet once again so will not being going out into public anytime soon I'm afraid. Have a great weekend!
So kind of you to say Paul and I really appreciate the support mate. I had such a good time out west. There was no internet or TV where I was and I LOVED it. It was great to get back to reality and just have nature to enjoy instead. I think the whole world could do with a little of that right now. Haha, that little dog followed me everywhere and it was just so awesome. She stars in one of the vlogs coming up. There is one vlog from here that was easily the best landscape photography session I've had since coming back from Iceland and Scotland. I've had to make it a 2 parter. Many thanks Rob for watching. It was just AMAZING out here under the stars. So dark which made it perfect for astro. Yes, a hot drink when I got back to the cottage, then back to the warm bed. The following night it was clouded over again, so this was the only opportunity I had in the end, very lucky. It gets pretty cold in the south here near Stanthorpe in winter. Hi Adrian, oh wow - that astro shot at 06:14 is just amazing. I love this subtle light in the foreground, building this fantastic sense of depth to the tree and the milky way back there - you really nailed it!

Such good luck the cloud cleared and you were able to get to where you needed to be in time to capture some astro photography. Image at 6:10 is fantastic! Can't believe the cloud rolled in afterwards again, it seems like you were supposed to grab these images!
