Exactly Illugi,, myself has been a line Advicer and product manager on Norwegian boats as well on tooth fish 3-month tours in South atlantic. But working on boats in Norway was like going 20 years back...just crazy..
Working in Iceland is normal 15-30 tons per day 14 persons, longline.

Many sunsets &sunrises r Biblical, nice tho. I fished over 35yrs. every fisheries but crabbingWe had 86,000lbs black cod in 3days, caught 56,000lbs dressed in 2 with 6,100lbs. halibut.& biggest halibut trps 61,000 in 1day 48,000 with almost 10,000lbs, round black cod. Saw the whole food chain on hook no bigger than ur index figure.. Used herring 4 bait, witch caught about 2lb. snapper ,witch caught about 11teen lb. lingcod, witch caught 280lb. halibut all on 1 hook :\ I've caught giant squid ,the bottom half was 17&a hail ft. 4 I measured it. The top half over 7inches per side, it floated away it was so heavy, like to say it was over 25ft. long, more like 30ft. Once I even caught a human bone, the coiler asked what, what is it? I said a pair of rainpants, asI held up leg bone ,with the leg bone still in it,& yes we did turn into police! Anyway this man is 4 TRUMP, the white house needs someone that won't be influenced by foreign mone, America needs a man not a puppet!!!,

Once you spend time on a fishing vessel it's hard to return to a regular 9-5 job

As a 10 year longline veteran from Iceland, man you guys need to optimize your work. On the "splitter" holding the knife is a waste of time and ridiculously inefficient and how slow the you where pulling it in (guessing 28-35 hooks pre minute), the way you cut the fish when it is coming in is just old fashioned and slow, imagine having 20-30 tons per day and trying to keep up with that technique (and yes, we can). Shooting the line was just painfully slow to watch.
But on the positive notes, that mustache was a killer, he must be a Master-"beiter" :) , and there is a much better way to do this work :)

+Illugi Jónsson than i wonder what boat you have been at, By holding the knife only gets the work faster, they have no problem keeping up with 20 tons a day. how many hooks we pull inn per minute depends of different grounds you are at, what fishery and weather, you should know that. watch this video at 10:00 ruclips.net/video/F1_Ht9uPAJU/видео.html
