The Norwegian’s take so much pride in their work and their fishing technology is so far advanced when they fish for sardines they come out of the net in little aluminum containers.

Hei Allan. Takker for tilbakemeldingen, må innrømme her er forbedringspotensiale når det gjelder lyd og musikk redigering, so vi får sjå om ej får gjort jobben bedre på en evt. ny film.
I have always admired the Norwegians fishing techniques. I like the way they go through everything before they commit themselves. Congratulations to all the people involved into making this big machine to catch fish to feed people. If i compare my 30 foot canoe to this huge fishing ship, i coud fit 1000 canoes of my size, but it helps to look at how man can go to this extremes to maximise his catch. I have to get me a bigger boat to fish too but it won't be that huge maybe move from 50 hp to 100 hp and get a boat where you can sleep and spend more time at sea.
@Jimthebrick TheYou have no clue what you're talking about - it is simply nonsens. Norway has for decades had a strict control and quota system in place that ensures no overfishing. So please before you throw out such random accusations have an idea of what you are talking about....OK....

I liked the soundtrack and stayed viewing because of it. Amazing capabilities but how many fish will we have in another 5 years? China I believe fishes a third of our fish supplies with 2600+ big trawlers.
I know that it is not feasible to provide commentary in every language but I'd rather listen to comments in Norwegian than that music! Also the cut and discard function is the best edit tool for improving videos.
Extraordinario vídeo, un gran barco, con una gran maniobra , muy bien el uso del anillero , una red con las proporciones adecuadas y un gran equipamiento en cubierta.
God job My job is my profession I am a professional in this type of fishing this boat has good technology and good material to work in fishing I want to deliver my resume to them but I don't know how can you help me please?
Cool view on seeing how this ship works, but I'm wondering, really, how long can the oceans produce fish in this abundance when ships like this take so much fish in one swipe? I would imagine that sooner or later there won't be any more fish if huge ships like this empty the oceans of fish at this rate...Scary though the oceans with no fish...
The Traveler Luckily more and more countries are putting strict quotas in place to reduce overfishing. There are still a couple of countries like China that tend to ignore these quotas. It is getting much better than it was in the past. Continued conservatism will help protect our natural resources.
Norway has for decades had a strict quota system that avoids overfishing. There are control systems in place and there are a continious research regime that monitor the fish stock. In this way next years quota will be set in order to maintain a sustainable takeout. There is nothing random about it. This is respected by the fishers, because a good management system is in their own interests. The research is done by Havforskningsinstituttet (the Norwegian Marin research institute) in Bergen. It is also the largest marine institute in Europe. That Norway has modern and effective fishing vessels isn't synonymous with overfishing - straight the opposite. It speaks about good economy due to good management of the fishstock.

hi. We use a large fishpump to pump the fish from the sea and aboard the boat. You can see when we lift the fishpump into the sea in the movie at 22.30.
Espen Vike I figured it was something like that. and the pump line is the black one that connect to the white steel 180° then makes its way in between the two big spools and goes into what I'm guessing is the pump right near the stairs at the bottom of the frame at 23:30 .
Would it be possible to use drones that look like predator fish to create a bait ball with the fish that your after? You could coral the fish up to the side of the boat and then vacuum them up from the water
Great Job on Video. Enjoyed the music background. It is my understanding Norway does a good job their fisheries. Many other countries do not and if we keep fishing the oceans like we are doing now there will be nothing left for future generations

To all the haters: This is the only way to catch fish today in a way that makes it both profitable for the fishermen (Yes, they are! They mend the nets and all other equipment, they handle the job in gale as well as the calmest day of the decade (this day), they also can do it the old fashioned way if that is necessary, they are seamen of highest class.) and at the same time makes the price of the product possible to buy for ordinary people.
