I booked the Hyatt across the street in Aug, as just a placeholder. Figured I'd cancel once the others opened up. Glad I did, looks like that's my hotel now. Crazy you have to book a year in advance.
Just checking back in on this situation Even if your hotel is 5-10 minutes away for example, #1. Knowing this is a huge event, seems like the hotel would offer a shuttle service to the convention center, so what’s the big deal with that ??? #2. Uber or Lyft can’t be that expensive for that short of a ride ?? #3. Stay downtown and take the L train directly to the convention center ?? Sooo, plenty of options available, I just hope this helps out who’s concerned about accommodations, good luck !!..Ohh !..and Thanks Mike for this video clip!..good information !!
Does anyone know what hotels in Rosemont Offer shuttle rides to the convention center This is important to know before booking ! Please let me know and thanks !!
Thanks for the heads up. We were holding out for an Air B&B, but we decided to go ahead and book a hotel now. This will be our first National, so we're not sure what to expect, what to do, anything like that. Going in blindly. But at least we have a hotel booked for a couple of nights. Now on to booking flights. Thanks again for the heads up.
I booked at the Embassy Suites across the street from the convention center back in September. It shows on Expedia and the nationals hotel booking site that it’s not available but if you go directly to the Embassy’s website they still have rooms available. Just a tip if anyone is looking still and wants to be close to the convention center.
Mike, this is crazy timing. I literally had this issue yesterday. I emailed the National and commented privately on their Facebook page. To their credit, someone did call me back and basically said, "It's more popular than it's ever been. Dealers, corporate sponsors, signers all got priority." On Facebook they told me their was an announcement and email, which there was only for ticket sales. I was lucky enough to get a room at the Hyatt on Thursday night and will just look for one for Friday now between now and then. Very frustrating, though.
Not really sure the issue??..but I checked several hotels around the area within a few miles, lots of availability, Sonesta, Westin, I know those 2 have availability, like Mike was saying it’s probably got a lot to do with the days you choose ??..Just ANOTHER GREAT reason to have the convention downtown at the LARGEST CONVENTION FACILITY in the US !!! McCormick PLACE!!!..No shortage of hotels down there !!!..Plus close to lots and lots of sightseeing, shopping, and dining !!!
The main draw of Chicago is the close proximity of the hotels to the convention center. If you have to stay more than walking distance away, then it is just kind of a pain in the butt.
Excitement is building! The upstairs section has usually been the site of the Chicago Sports Spectacular. So it's now the size of the 2023 National + The Chicago Sports Spectacular. In 2023 they ran the GA tickets thru the 2nd level, will be interesting how they handle it this time.
Honestly Mike this isn't a new situation. I haven't been able to stay at any of the hotels in Chicago since 2021. I was kind of dumbfounded how people even got rooms in 2023 when they were sold out a full year in advance. The hotels for this upcoming year were also well sold out a year in advance. The demand only keeps rising and will continue to do so. This is apart of my retore to people who were complaining about Cleveland. Cleveland is a lot bigger than Chicago and if the National continues this level of steady growth these next three years in Chicago are going to be difficult for all of us. You think the parking lots in Cleveland were bad? Good Lord get ready for the nightmare that is the parking garage in Chicago. Put money aside now for Uber and Lyft, that's always apart of my Chicago National budget.
Mike, I’ll let you use my sofa for a small fee of that 51 Mantle you have…I’ll even drive and pay for parking. This sounds like it will be nuts. Looking forward to it.
Ready for crazy? It’s going to be busy and packed. I found a room about a half a mile from convention center but I booked about 3 months ago. Looking forward to the show no matter how busy it is.
I live on the North Side of Chicago right by Wrigley Field. Booked the Rose Hotel for Wed and Thurs night which is a little bit less a mile walk so walkable. Used Hilton points or it would have been $460 a night. Didn’t want to deal with traffic and parking at the convention center. Last time in Chicago I took Ubers but much better to wake up and be right there.
Just to add to my last comment , I just DONT understand why several guys could get together as a group, stay downtown, and Call Uber, Lyft, get a huge SUV, maybe a limo Bus !!??
Ahh ... the National. Travel cost, hotel cost, over priced cards, the RUclips sausage-fest get together. I can't believe I've never been to one of these.
@@AbelinVegas Nice! So the first one was in 1980. There was a time or two where it was in Baltimore, but this was a long time ago. I was a student. Would love to go to a National one day.

I will never go to the national.. to many other big shows easy to get to and not in the heat of the summer..
They didn’t even offer any of the 6 closest hotels because all of those rooms went to vendors and athletes due to both levels of convention center being used this year. They did tell me to follow up 6-7 weeks before National to see if some of the vendors release some of their reserved rooms.
@@lambeaujackson9562I just commented on the video about this but I know embassy suits right across the street from the convention center has rooms available if you go directly to their website. Hope that helps.

Loews Ohare has plenty of availability in case your looking !..as of 12:58 on 12/18 !!

Mike, looks like you can get the Hyatt for Tuesday and Thursday on the National Hotel website.
Fair enough. I am needing Tuesday through Saturday, so it seems like less availability for that long of a stay.
@@BaseballCollector I just meant you could take those for now and try to find the other nights later.

In a city as large as Chicago, what other big events are going on that all the rooms are reserved?
It is not in Chicago it is in Rosemont.
The White Sox are playing at home..............
They sold out 2 years ago on day 1. We booked an air bnb that year. Booked our air bnb in September for 2025
Mike, I booked my hotel over a month ago, I just happened to check and they were taking reservations.
I looked it up I booked it on Oct 22nd,24
Time to have the National at your ranch!!!
No doubt although it would have to be outside and it is crazy hot in July in Texas. LOL

Looks like it’s Strongsville for me again in 2025 instead of the National!
That may be the choice for many vintage collectors.
Nice hotel stayed there before has a nice restaurant in the hotel just thr fsct they charge you a security fee per night
Thanks for sharing

That’s a bummer. Folks should look along the train lines. CHI has a great rail system. Can jump on a train and in a few minutes be downtown.
Great point.
Im staying 20 minutes away with my daughter and son in law!

How many years?
