And here is a message to the folks who are not big train enthusiasts like me: It is probably best that if you are going somewhere and are concerned about being stopped at a rail crossing for hours to find an alternative route (just in case you may get stuck at a train for hours). It may take longer and be inconvenient, but it's probably better than being stuck at a crossing for hours.
