If you preach the gospel it all on its own, tells you what you should do when it comes to politics. When we add our opinions, it’s conjecture and opinion, not gospel. Sadly, I believe politicians from today learned how to be overlords from the churches of the past. This should make all Christians like us, very weary of pastors, who believe They know the way. The way is true Christ and his teachings. That’s it. It’s not complicated, but we as humans tend to complicate everything. Half my family is Jewish, half my family is Catholic and then there are Jehovah’s Witnesses, Zion Lutherans, Mormons, Baptists, agnostic and atheists. What’s truly funny is my family is not very big, so to have that reach is interesting. I think Christians become confused when they hear different messages about the same topics from different pastures, priests, ministers, etc.. If you’re teaching the word of God, it automatically teaches you all you need to know about politics. So I understand your perspective, and in the past, supported it and did it myself, but as I get older I’ve come to recognize, for me at least, the teachings of Jesus Christ, our Lord and savior, are paramount. I’m weary of pastors and ministers who make millions off faith. I’m also wary of creatures who decide which rules are important and which rules can be relaxed. I listened to a little bit of Matt Chandler’s recent teachings on politics and just did not resonate with it. I found him trying to be altruistic at a time when it’s dangerous to be a Christian in the United States. There’s only one choice in this election. President Trump is the only candidate who is willing to die for us, and he’s proved it now on more than one occasion. In my personal opinion, I don’t believe he started out as a very spiritual man, but I do believe he’s become one, and I do fear what will happen to Christians if there isn’t a pause button press on how the Democratic Party is using our judicial system against pro-life Christians. I apologize for being long-winded, so I’ll try to brief in telling you having worked on most of the presidential campaigns in 2008 producing events and having worked in news media earlier in my career, I’ve witnessed how wicked and false they both are. In my personal opinion, President Trump doesn’t have to be running. Doesn’t have to be sacrificing time with his family at an older age, the attacks on his family, including his children and wife, losing wealth, being indicted on ridiculous charges, and even his life has been threatened just because of his ego. I believe President Trump believes, if we don’t stop the Democrat party from fundamentally changing our country from a Judeo Christian society to a secular one we will lose everything we built. There is a reason they allowed 10 million illegal immigrants into the country and then tried to create laws allowing them to vote. Have you seen the videos where these illegals proudly scream at Americans telling them this is our country now and we’re getting paid to live here for free? I’ve seen too many. Those who don’t believe there’s a movement constructed by of the majority of Congress to work with the banking industry and certain verticals that are well represented by lobbyists to divide us to the point where becoming a unified nation again is virtually impossible, are being naïve. People like to use the term conspiracy theorist when you by reason and logic to set of circumstances and begin to connect the dots. When you’ve had the opportunity to see how these industries work from the inside, you recognize the power they have. It’s scary. I could be wrong, but when I read my Bible and look at the examples given to us, I see more faith from President Trump than I do from vice President Harris, or the Democrats in general. Having worked with politicians has made me biased. I believe most politicians today are not seeking to serve the people. I believe most of them are seeking to serve themselves, which is why of the top 10 richest counties in the United States are now the ones that surround Washington DC. I believe if they were working for the people, they would institute turn limits so lobbyists couldn’t form long lasting relationships that give most of the control of the country over to the wealthy and powerful rather than the people as it was intended. I’ll end my rant here, but I did appreciate your video and will subscribe. God bless.
Ps… I do agree with the Outlook both you and Matt State about not participating with either political party, and just one small thing, we’re a constitutional republic not a democracy. A democracy is when states or provinces vote, and the majority wins. A constitutional republic is designed to give states or provinces of every size and opportunity to have a say in their elections. There’s a lot more to it that’s very simplified, but I keep hearing people say democracy on TV and it’s driving me nuts because we’re not a democracy, but I believe the Democrats want to make us a democracy. they want us to become a popularity vote country rather than an electoral college vote country and when you allow 10 million illegal immigrants into the country who haven’t been vetted so that we know they haven’t Deas ire to assimilate into our culture why would you allow that to happen? Anyways, thanks again, and God bless.
HELP !!! I need some advice . I love the church I attend and my wonderful church family. They are very nice and supportive. The problem is my preacher cant read very well and mispronounces most of the scripture he reads. He says " ...God gave his only forgotten Son" and "... Peter denied Jesus twice ...(should be thrice)." In addition, he seems to preach the same sermon every Sunday. He always preaches how to get saved but never what to do after that. I never feel "spiritually fed." I dont want to leave the church or hurt anyone's feelings. Do you have any suggestions ? I need help and don't know what to do. Thank you so much and God bless you. 😊
I think maybe it’s time for a new preacher! Do you have a suggestion box? Maybe you should slip in a note suggesting how using the phrase forgotten instead of begotten could really be misleading
Matt Chandler has made statements I find to be hypocritical and ridiculous when it comes to politics. Today’s politicians learned the tricks of the trade from the churches in the world. I’m Christian. I believe a pastor who’s preaching the gospel directly as intended, doesn’t need to preach about politics because the teachings of the gospel are all you need. the Pope May shy away from making proper statements based on the gospel, but God was never shy about His instructions. Matt Chandler recently attempted to get all altruistic about how he doesn’t trust either side, but we have to make a choice and there is only one choice that is pro Christian. Democrats hate us. Kamala Harris didn’t even show up to the Catholic charity, Al Smith dinner. Instead, she sent one of the most bizarre and insulting videos I’ve seen in connection to a political race. It was lacking in humor, substance and I’m grateful for it. Kamala Harris will do nothing but continue the attacks on Christianity and Matt Chandler, who is popular, should know better than to try and make this election about trust. Only an idiot would trust Congress, the Democratic Party and most of the Republican Party. There’s only one choice for Christians and that is President Trump. When someone is willing to move forward, even though they’ve been shot at times, had their family attached, including their children and wife, have lost financially and time he could be spending with his grandchildren in his later years to run for office because he truly believes we need a better choice than the Democrats. I’m going to trust him more than Kamala Harris. For Matt to make it sound like there’s even a discussion for Christians is ridiculous. It’s narcissistic, egoistic and prideful in my personal opinion, and hopefully I’m judging righteously because I try not to judge anymore. I’m not a kid anymore and I’ve grown up a bit and I understand the ramifications of judging someone openly and publicly, but having been a member of the Catholic Church and other churches in my journey to find truth, the only one I did find is that Jesus is the Christ, he died for our sins and that he gave us instructions on how we should treat our neighbors, including the ones we don’t like. He died for our sins. He led by example. He died for what he believed, and knew to be true, and so just ask yourself which candidate has proven, they are willing to die for you and me? I’m always open to discussions and of course, these are my personal opinions. Unlike many today, I don’t believe I’m always right so I’m open to hearing the thoughts of others. If you’ve read my long-winded rant, I am grateful. If you respond and want to discuss it, I will. Americans need to do more of it. We need to talk to each other more often than we have been in recent days. God bless. Edit: Matt Chandler‘s comment on the left, wanting the kingdom and not the king in the right wanting the king and not the kingdom is so wrong. Those of us who’ve worked in media and with politicians specifically senators, running for president have seen things from a position that opened our eyes. most of my friends didn’t believe me when I said in 10 years, the countries gonna be completely divided. I told him that in 2008. 2018 the country was well and the reason why I saw it was in the rhetoric. I listened to on a weekly basis during the 2007 to 2008 presidential candidates coming through my city and the company I was with at the time put me in charge of producing the Events for them. It’s interesting what people will say if they don’t think you’re important. It’s interesting what they will reveal if they don’t think you’re important. the funny thing is most of my friends didn’t believe me. I also told them that those of us who are Christian find ourselves in a very precarious situation in the not too distant future and we’ve seen that come to pass as well. It’s not because I am some sere or filled with revelation, it’s simply because I listened to what they were saying, not on stage, many times they were saying on the sidelines and like I said, if you are an insignificant person, they will reveal themselves to you or in front of you and it’s really scary. And sad I love my country and I hate to see people dividedwhen there’s no need for it.
saying "the right wants the king without the kingdom" is a highly charged political statement itself. A somewhat silly one at that, because very few people on the right will say they don't care about the poor. If you were poor, would you rather be poor in a Republican run American, or a communist run North Korea? Please don't lecture me on politics. You are bad at it.
Yes they should get political. This is my first time voting in my life. So I am not political. If you are a Christian then you only have one side besides a few local good Democrats but not as a party. When the party is going against the churches values then the church needs to speak about loudly. Yes I would say the same thing if it was the other way around.
Absolutely NOT. And the minute I hear a politically slanted sermon, that’s the last time I attend that church. (And I’ve only found one church in all my visits so far that I will say is completely politics-Free) Your ultimate job, as pastors, is to LEAD PEOPLE TO GOD. To save souls. You have zero right to judge anyone, zero right to tell someone that God absolutely approves or doesn’t (besides obvious sins), and zero right to steer someone on how to vote, or love another human. Pastors, when you preach on politics or sexuality, you succeed at steering zero people TO god, but you risk steering many souls AWAY from God. If you think He will pat you on the back for that, you’re wrong.
So there are no implications of following Jesus that would intersect with someone’s politics or sexuality? Is there no place for discipleship in your theology? Have you ever read the sermon on the mount? No one is advocating for preaching partisan politics but following King Jesus has implications on EVERY area of life.

Exactly!
Enjoyed this, Brandon. I don’t consider myself to be among the fringe, but I have definitely spent too much time on Twitter this week. 😬
I would LOVE to hear your response to Pastor Garys "Election Sermon" at Cornerstone CHapel in Leesburg VA. Lots of people in and around DC attend it.
