7:19 - THANK YOU!!!! This is something most do not show, and in my opinion that's a real shame. When a beginner (such as I, lol) comes to RUclips to watch a tutorial type of painting video, it's with high hope that the artist will show the entire process of their painting. That's how one can learn. So again, thank you very much. That said, this turned out being an absolutely beautiful painting, and it was an honor and privilege watching it being brought to life. Thank you, Dale, for sharing - and for showing the great tips and tricks as you went. Very helpful information! Cheers,

Thank you so much! I try to show everything I do even if it takes some extra time. I’ve seen so many questions about the beginning prep work that nobody shows.
Thanks again for your kind words and for watching! I hope it was a help for you. 😁

I love old cabin like Bob used to do but I have not been able to do a decent one. How about a nice Cabin near a garden etc

I did It Started somewhere. However to late I realized the white section was where the bottom of the hills etc rested, but I’m going to watch you again and try again. I si glad you are doing your show.

I’m so glad you’re painting along with me! I’m hoping to do another paint along video soon. Let me know if there’s something in particular (landscape/seascape) you’d like to see! 😁

Do you do. Beginner tutorials for water mixable?

I sure do. In fact, I go over everything I could think of with water mixable oils in this video: ruclips.net/video/X4rIqw8zp6w/видео.html
I believe all but one tutorial/paint along after this video are all with water mixables. I can post links to those tutorials here if you’d like 😁

Did you always have an painting interest

Actually, I avoided art at all costs through school. I always wished I could do “something” artistic like painting, but was convinced I had no artistic ability.
I loved watching the local PBS station on Saturdays back in the 80s. That’s where I “met” Bob Ross. He made me believe that maybe….just maybe I could do this. It took a lot of years, but on February 2, 2019 I finally tried. I took a class from a Bob Ross certified instructor and I was hooked! 😂

I use Dawn soap and water to really clean brushes.where do you get your brushes.

I get my brushes from Hobby Lobby, Michael’s and my last set was a gift someone got me from Temu.
I use Chelsea olive oil and lavender brush soap to deep clean with. I just use water and sometimes a bit of water mixable linseed oil for just a quick clean while painting. 😁

Ops ment to ask do you use thirds in positing scenes

I very loosely use thirds in most paintings. Some though, I split the canvas in 2 unequal dimensions so I’m not splitting it directly in half
