Love your Bass Reviews, very honest and to-the point. I love your quote “We don’t all drive the same car, and we’re not all married to the same person” so true. I’m definitely a Sunburst type of guy myself as I own a few with that finish, well I’ll be looking out for more Videos. Thank you.
I’m getting one of these in that exact finish soon. It’ll be my first USA bass ever. You’re right about the pickup volumes not doing much past a certain point and that’s just one of Fender’s longtime quirks.
I appreciate your review.. please be specific and tell me which noiseless pickups that you would switch to on this bass. I’m considering purchasing one. Thanks Much!
@@BobBlackBassThank you, Bob! I own a Fender P that I purchased new in 1977.. it had been custom ordered with a Jazz neck and then never picked up.. many, many, many notes later, I’m now considering purchasing the very Jazz Bass you’ve featured here to have for a spare. Of the two choices you presented (DiMarzio/Aguilar), which would provide more of a ‘punch’ when desired. I’ve always felt the Fender Jazz needs a bit more punch. (BTW, don’t we all wish we could play like Jaco)?!? Thank You Sir!!!
@@BobBlackBass Thanks for taking the time to answer my question, Bob! I appreciate the information you provide on your channel and I am now subscribed!
Lovely video, bob! i recently got a Jazz Bass and im sooo in love with it, it goes perfect with with roundwound strings, listen to interpol for some great jazz bass use
Something about the sunburst on these looks so good! I got the American performer P-bass and its been excellent. It's every bit as high quality as my American professional J-bass. I really dont think the "vintage style" Bridge on these is any worse than the high mass bridge on the pro. Good review!
I only own a Jazz (American Professional in the Natural Ash finish) and it's heavy (4,7kg/10,36lbs) but I also own two American Performer instruments and so this was in my wishlist. But I can't justify another non '70s Jazz bass just based on its lighter weight.
Great job Bob. I grew up with sunburst basses and guitars in the 70's - love em! Especially with black pick guards. Classy look.
Thanks Bob!

Thanks! By the way, I have your byin yang symbol on my stingray pick guard!
Nice looking guitar..Good sound....
As always, an honest review. Keep up the good work. I look forward to your next one....
Thanks, will do!

Great, best of luck with the bass!
Got mine recently and I appreciate your review. I looked it up before my purchase. Greetings from Mumbai, India. Hope you're well, sir.
Hope you enjoy it!
I wonder if your playing a gig when youve got stuff turned up loud, whether the volume control issue is an issue anymore. If you know what i mean.
Hey Nigel, yes, I know what you mean and you are correct
Good Job Bob; Now, I may be interested in this it's 1st Class!
Thanks Gary !

Hey Matt, I agree. Maybe I'm old school but I love that Sunburst also.
Is this yours Bob? Great choice if so but 60 cycle is a deal killer for me, drives me nuts.
Not mine. The hum was on the light side but I would probably change to noiseless pups.
I always say that the Sunburst finish is the Levi jeans of bass finishes lol.....works with anything
Correct!

I can't live with anything 9 pounds or higher!
This fender model is chinnese or american?
American
You never mentioned the weight😅 You ALWAYS mention the weight😁 Great video as usual,Bob! Thank you🤙🏼
Hey William, I did. Just a little over 8 pounds.
Love you brother ❤️
Thanks Dale!
