The first couple of notes made me cry. I used to sing this in solitary confinement and every time I was on the side of some road somewhere. I was so lost, but now I'm found.
Me and my wife grow organic produce and would love to help people around the country who need food, just need help with networking and distribution ! Let's do this for our children, humanity and earth.
I'm 68 years old and i'm just weeping. A beautiful song presented in the most poignant way. It is so hard to get past the idea that some of us are so heartless and self-absorbed. There's enough if we will just come together and care for each other. Thank you for putting this out for us.
I wept when Molly first released this. It inspired me to give to Why Hunger. That, and local food shelves and soup kitchens now nearly all my giving. It has gotten worse, not better, since 2020. And I still weep. I have a few years on you; it is good us old folks can feel empathy and appreciate Molly's efforts and talents.
Chills CHILLS! What a fantastic version y’all have made of this timeless classic! God bless you all and may your days be filled with endless blessings!
@@mattpeer8537 I don't know if you read the second comment, but I find that Molly and Billy strings among others are pulling me into a greater awareness of the world of bluegrass and how freaking amazing it can be because as wide a knowledge as I have of musical genres I was just being oblivious to the genre and to the players prior to them. Amazing young musicians make me happy and excited for the future of music again!
Whoever thought the little girl playing in the family band we knew and loved as Molly Tuttle would become Molly Tuttle, the incarnation of Woody Guthrie. A giant on this earth, both of them. Bravo.
A masterful reinterpretation of Neil Young's tune. Molly and Old Crow make the facts plain: it is unconscionable that there is hunger in the land of plenty.
I work for the government ( I know what you are thinking but wait). We keep water flowing, sewers draining, and rainwater emptying. No one notices, no one cares about our families. They just expect water. First responders are hero’s but only save one. Think about the thousands if we weren’t there every day. Not done for credit, all done because it’s needed. Beautiful song. Thanks.
Damn, Molly you hit the nail on the head. beautiful song done beautifully. PLUS a meaningful video. Neil must be delighted with this cover. Thanks for your music. Especially right now.
Nice Molly! I'm a retired guitar player (that is I don't get paid to play anymore and no one listens to me but me but I still play), anyway takes me back to my teens. I was 19 when CSNY recorded this.
Hear in Ontario we got it good. Covid 19 has gave us time to reflect and realize what's important, and honestly Molly you are as beautiful of a person as any small town in North Ontario.. amazing cover!! Neil Young would be proud!
Thank you, Molly. I saw you play when you were maybe 15 years old. You have developed into a fantastic guitar player...continue to use your gift for social activism
That is just brilliant Molly! You are a superb musician and a wonderful human being to create this at this time of so much pain and suffering for so many people. In such a rich country to have men women and children going hungry is criminal.
Thank you Molly!!!!!! ..... this cover of Neil Young’s song Helpless is absolutely beautiful and it’s awesome that you can use it to point out some of the discrepancies surrounding this Lockdown All the Governments of the world have failed us Bigtime! .... but that’s ok.... as long as all of our Billionaires are happy.....😿!
Thank you Molly, loved Neil Young's original and love this too and particularly the sentiment behind the video and messages, more people like you , Neil Young and OCMS are needed in this world. Fantastic version. Fantastic insight, awareness and kindness....
Man, I didn't think anyone could do a cover of this that I'd care to listen to, and I'd have expected Molly to be shredding, but she absolutely does justice (no pun intended) to the song.
You rock Molly. I know that's not why you put this up, but it's still true. Thank you. That "tractor dust bowl" shot references Neil's Farm Aid efforts perfectly. "Long May You Run". :)
Musician, songwriter, re-arranger, and humanitarian extraordinaire! Great film making, and editing too! What a beautiful person and troubadour you are!
Yup. 😢 🧡 Some songs along with some of the messages that the artists convey can and do cover me in tears. Molly's singing voice and guitar playing are simply a joy to be immersed in.
Molly, I only discovered you on a RUclips video two weeks ago. I have always loved an Appalachian voice and yours is perfect. I also appreciate your music choice. I find myself happy and fascinated at your music and I'm glad I found you.
This is really relevant today. We all thought it was crazy bad 2 years ago. Today everyone should be terrified. Learn to make your own food as much as you can. Instead of gorilla gardening for weed in the old days now we need to plant veggies in the bush. Love your sound Molly.
Good music good cause. Healthy food is a basic human right. Too many poor Americans live in food deserts. No kid should go to bed hungry. Keep up the the great work Molly
What a beautiful song for these trying times and your heartfelt message on the impact of those most at risk is much needed. I had the opportunity to see you at the Winnipeg Folk Festival in 2019 across the multiple stages and workshops. Would love to see you back again once we are through this current challenge. Be safe & stay healthy.
The first couple of notes made me cry. I used to sing this in solitary confinement and every time I was on the side of some road somewhere. I was so lost, but now I'm found.
Protect the land, grow food, feed the people, sing songs, and love one another. Thanks Molly

This is delightful ❤

Yes Tim. The vibration of love is real. Somehow if those who know it stay in their truth, this world can heal.
69, and still love this song.
I was a junior in college in 69'. Had this Album on vinyl. Im 72 and still in love with it.

Neil Young wrote this song for you to find it. Love your phrasing and execution. Just excellent!
Miss Molly, I grew up on Neil Young and this rendition of Helpless is simply beautiful. Thank you!
oh yes!
I wish I could double like this song.
You tell them Molly!
This young lady is a MAJOR talent, and has a heart as big as the outdoors.
Chills CHILLS! What a fantastic version y’all have made of this timeless classic! God bless you all and may your days be filled with endless blessings!
Above your talent, hard earned skills, and great examples, you wrote one word on the "blackboard" that summed up this mess, "flawed".
Thank you Molly.
Christmas morn 2023 Gratitude & sharing & magic of music. Many thanks Molly
We are fortunate to have such a great talent as Molly Tuttle
Molly Tuttle I think you are fabulous!
Thank you.
Incredible interpretation by Molly of a classic Neil Young song. Data provided in the video also enhances this video.
I could listen to her all day. In fact, that's what I'm doing today.
God Molly, if it wasn't for Neil Young and Bob Dylan I never would have learned to play guitar and harmonica nearly 50 years ago. This is wonderful.
And if it wasn't for you and Billy Strings, I wouldn't be excited about music again! Thanks!
@@dvinemisfortune Same here!

A mighty talented miss who does Neil proud. Actually you do us all, proud.
Molly Tuttle's covers of Helpless are the first covers of that song I've liked. Amazing job!
A masterful reinterpretation of Neil Young's tune. Molly and Old Crow make the facts plain: it is unconscionable that there is hunger in the land of plenty.
