Fantastic analysis. Lots to think about that I hadn't thought about before and very well presented and argued.

So stranger things season 4 felt…bad. It just felt rushed. The dialogue between the characters, not only these two, but all of them, just felt like trailer lines. My mom and myself actually traded off writing duties a lot as we could blatantly tell what was going to be said, word for word. “This could mean the end of the world” etc etc etc
Max, there was a previous character where we knew her backstory and we had something to grab on to that we knew. Mainly this is the character Sadie Sink plays (watch The Whale, if you haven’t already) so we understood her.
Eddie was the new lovable character, so they basically had to shoehorn him into it. In retrospect, it felt like he was a scapegoat/side quest character that was put in place to take up screen time for the other characters, while they focused on Max. If his scenes were taken out, nothing would really be changed, as again, the focus was Max.
You could cut it in half and have the same story, while also being tighter.
Overall your analysis is spot on with good examples to back it up, and don’t be afraid of long form media.
You can make a 5 hour long review. As long as you explain yourself like you do here, you really shouldn’t have any issue. Mauler uploads multi hour reviews, not even including EFAP.
    Great job!

I think running away for Eddie is important to have unclear results because it's a natural reaction. Fight or flight, neither are really bad choices; and you could argue, if Eddie was captured by the police he would've instead gotten an alibi when the next 3 or 4 other kids get murderlated giving the kids another layer of protection with the police from the Jock Mob instead of just avoiding both.

I heard an interesting theory that Eddie would return as a version of Kas the betrayer in the next season, but that was just a head cannon I'm sure.
