Cool to see some badlands in Canada. We saw some in South Dakota. Truly spectacular! Love the rich red color and the unique shapes! Also great tips about planning a visit!
Wow, such incredible formations! Thanks for taking us along with your hike. Even though it was rainy it still looked pretty nice. Now we know another cool place to visit in Ontario!
It’s definitely worth a return visit so you can hike the trail. That would be quite scary to walk along the roadway. But there’s nothing you can do to control the weather. Looks like a great place to visit.
Badlands is something new to me. Even during a overcast weather, it looks amazing with green in the background. It would be interesting to hike through that trail.
Shame about the overcast weather, but still cool to see the landscape of the formations. The greenery is quite stark against the reddish soil. Is it a very popular place? I didn't expect the 90 minute limit until you mentioned it.
Wow! The landscape is so unusual. Definitely, it is worth it to come back here for a hike. Thanks for the information on what badlands are! I was just wondering about it.
We were just at Badlands National Park in South Dakota! These are pretty with the iron oxide in them. And the surrounding green makes them pop! Did we miss why the trails were closed? Do dogs have to be on leashes, we are guessing? April always appreciates when there is a place to pee! 😂
Oh wow! Looks amazing 😍. It’s a pity, you haven’t got a chance to hike and explore the trail due to the weather, but the viewpoint is great and it definitely worth stopping by 👍
The Badlands look beautiful! Love the dark red and white colors of the earth. Bummer about the weather and that the path was closed, but that's just an excuse for you guys to go back! If you haven't been to the Badlands in South Dakota yet, you absolutely should. They're super cool
The landscape is mesmerizing! The greenery surrounding is beautiful. I thought it's far from the city center but they don't allow drones there? Or is that the rule of the town? Is this a popular place to visit as I don't see many people in your video. It's great to know this is a UNESCO biosphere reserve.
Hey guys it is a bummer that the weather didn't cooperate to hike, the trail did look quite muddy. I am glad you were able to at least view the badlands...even though the walk along the road wasn't ideal 😆 The area was still cool to see and your video sure will be helpful to those planning a visit 😊
It was so quiet when you were there. The badlands looks pretty bad-ass. Never knew what it was either, so thanks for teaching me. The reservation part was this always the case or is this now because of Covid?
What a unique place! I have never seen anything like these formations on any of my travels. Thank you so much for all the informative tips about visiting this location. Also, is it just me, or is Ontario a super rainy place?
It was pretty interesting to see in person. Ontario has been fairly rainy this summer... but I wouldn't say it's a rainy place overall... not like England or BC even.
Hate it when the weather cancels hiking plans but the Badlands looks really cool, I had no idea they were a thing despite being married to a Geologist😂
Yeah we were pretty bummed that we couldn't go hiking, they didn't even tell you in advance. So we will hopefully find a nice day to go back and do the hiking trails. Who is the geologist?? (I don't want to assume!)
Damn, I visited there many times growing up and even took my kids there about 5 years ago. We ised to park on the road and walk up/down the badlands... Kinda sucks now, cant get up and personal and you have to pay? Cash Grab.

Blimey what an incredible landscape. It almost looks like something from another planet!!!
It did kind of look like what I think Mars might look like!
Thanks for going over its history (and previous use) for those of us not familiar with the badlands.
Happy to share! Thanks for watching.
Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads. -thanks for sharing my friend!!!!
Happy to share!
Such an unusual place. That would be a great place for hiking in nice weather. I enjoyed this spot and your talking.
Wow, I was only aware of South Dakota and New Mexico badlands. Had no idea about one in Toronto. Thanks for showing us around!
Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to your next trip walking the trails.
Thanks! Yes I'm looking forward to it too.
Love hiking through the Badlands!
I'm so sad we didn't get to hike on our visit. I'm going to go back on a nicer day so we can get the full experience.
Cool to see some badlands in Canada. We saw some in South Dakota. Truly spectacular! Love the rich red color and the unique shapes! Also great tips about planning a visit!

Cheltenham Park

😆
I think the goodlands are tropical beaches. 😂

Like number 12 I was in Toronto 😊👍nice place have a nicer weekend 😀😎😊
Thanks so much!
Thank you for all of these tips because I planned to go there this week
Enjoy!! I hope you have nicer weather for your visit.
It’s definitely worth a return visit so you can hike the trail. That would be quite scary to walk along the roadway. But there’s nothing you can do to control the weather. Looks like a great place to visit.
It was pretty nice even with the bad weather. I'm sure a sunny day would be a much better time to visit.
Interesantes formaciones en el suelo!! Bonito paisaje mezclado entre color verde y color arcilla.
I never knew what badlands where, thanks for a great video with amazing info.
Thank you! Yes pretty interesting to see what nature creates.
Badlands is something new to me. Even during a overcast weather, it looks amazing with green in the background. It would be interesting to hike through that trail.
It was pretty cool to see in person. I'd love to go back for the trails.
Too bad you didn't get on the trails, but those views are pretty great anyway! Another cool spot I didn't know existed!
Yeah it was pretty cool - definitely going back one day for the trails.

It was an interesting day - I had no idea these formations even existed in this area until recently.

The Badlands also extends up to Canada at Drumheller, Saskatchewan.
Shame the weather wasn’t on your side. Derek works in Cheltenham England. Great video keep safe and keep filming 🙏👍
I think England is where Canada steals all of our town names from 😂
Oh wow! Looks amazing 😍. It’s a pity, you haven’t got a chance to hike and explore the trail due to the weather, but the viewpoint is great and it definitely worth stopping by 👍
Yeah I hope to get back one day soon to do the trails.

Oh I've never even heard of the Badlands in South Dakota! As soon as we can cross the I have a huge list of places to see.
It really looks like a nice place to hike! Too bad the weather wasn't right! 😏 Have a good day!
Yeah weather has been all over the place this summer here.
What a bummer that it is closed.? Never even heard of this place. Learning a lot from your channel around the toronto area
Yeah I wish they told you in advance, but it was still worth seeing.
Enjoyed the video too bad the trails were closed oh well next time and you do a great job making the videos
Yeah next time I hope to see the trails, thanks for watching! :)
We did this trip two weeks ago. Completely different experience.
The landscape is mesmerizing! The greenery surrounding is beautiful. I thought it's far from the city center but they don't allow drones there? Or is that the rule of the town? Is this a popular place to visit as I don't see many people in your video. It's great to know this is a UNESCO biosphere reserve.
It was sadly rainy when we visited so there weren't many people... that was a positive. No drones are allowed as per the sites rules

It was an interesting find - but yes, the weather was definitely not cooperating for us!
@@TheAverageTourist that happens, you made the most of it at least :)
looks very beautiful place. want to go there..
Thanks! It's a great spot to visit.
Those formations are cool. I ve seen a very similar ones in one of the NPs in Thailand :D
They were very interesting! Nature is pretty cool.
What an interesting landscape...sad that it’s a no drone zone 😭
But you still managed to capture it nicely, even though it was a rainy day.
I know, Ontario has so many no drone zones... what a bummer!
One of my fav places around. Next time you are there visit Spirit Tree near by.
That's the cidery right? I'll definitely add it to my itinerary when we return to do the hike 👌
@@TheAverageTourist it’s worth the visit for sure.

It was very interesting to see, nature makes some very cool stuff. It was due to Covid for the reservation requirement.
It's interesting how different and yet somewhat similar Canada's badlands are compared the US badlands in South Dakota
What a unique place! I have never seen anything like these formations on any of my travels. Thank you so much for all the informative tips about visiting this location. Also, is it just me, or is Ontario a super rainy place?

Great vlog ❤️❤️❤️
thanks!
I went in 2010. We walked all over it, there was no viewing deck or tickets. It must be getting too busy with visitors so they had to protect it.
Oh that's very interesting! Nope, no walking on it anymore so that they can protect the fragile formations.
Hate it when the weather cancels hiking plans but the Badlands looks really cool, I had no idea they were a thing despite being married to a Geologist😂

Hi. Nice place 👍👍🙂🖐
thanks!
How long is the hike?
It's not very long - maybe around an hour. We didn't get to do the full hike because of the weather.
Damn, I visited there many times growing up and even took my kids there about 5 years ago. We ised to park on the road and walk up/down the badlands...
Kinda sucks now, cant get up and personal and you have to pay? Cash Grab.
💕💕💕💕💕💕guy
You used to be able to walk on them. Until our lovely elected people made us pay for it..
