I’m so glad I got the chance to walk on the badlands before they shut it down. Used to se wedding photos taken there all the time! What a beautiful plce
Such a cool place! I love your drone shots. I learned about it many years ago when I first started working in TV. A co-worker of mine lived in the Caledon area and told me about them (and hardly anyone knew about it back then! Long before my blogging days!). Things have changed over the years, but I am glad that they closed it off to protect it from people walking all over them. I've been back multiple times and it never fails to impress (especially in the fall!).
Thanks Lauren! I’m happy they were able to find a way for us all to enjoy it going forward. The landscape is so cool and we wouldn’t want to see it harmed from human forces.
this isn't the grand canyon or even close to the size of the national parks in the usa, it's a small outdoor area that you can't walk on, but it does have a very pretty autumn view great for a photograph, the hike through the forest definitely worth it, dislike the time limit, informative brief video
Thanks for watching and for your comment! I agree that a fall visit is likely the best time as the colours really add to the landscape. A short visit yes. Part of a day trip to the area I’d say.
Glad I was able to walk there before they closed it off. Don't worry when I was there it was respectful but I actually was able to climb on the hills and check it out in person rather than from a distance.
I've been meaning to visit this site for a while, and it seems like just something for a 'pit stop' while passing through, so I'll get to see it sometime, on some mission, somewhere. On one of your videos you did about Elora (which was great!), I'm surprised you missed out on their "Monster Month" which is held in October, and there is a lot of things they put on. I just learnt about this myself a week ago; during the whole month of October the town also gets decorated in really weird or spooky installations that get lit up at night. It's not a big town but worth checking out if anyone lives around the area! If anyone has more places worth going to visit during the fall (hopefully spooky), I would like to know!
Yes I’d say it’s something to tack on to a day with other activities planned in the area. You get 1.5hrs on site as per their new registration system and it’s definitely more than enough time. I didn’t know about Monster Month is Elora! I did see all the decorations when I was there but now I’ll have to go back to really experience it 😊
@@seeusoontravel Very small town but they really bring spirit into the lesser celebrated holiday season. I appreciate it and I love Halloween. Let us have Thanksgiving off, and Halloween forever!

Calling Bull$hit on the European settlers "destroying the topsoil". What is the proof of that statement? These kinds of badlands can be found in various places in North America (large areas in Alberta and Arizona) and are natural landscapes from long-gone ancient rivers eroding their banks, NOT from white man destroying the topsoil. Honestly!
We are in Ontario too. We actually have reservations for the Badlands this weekend so your timing was perfect! I’m going to watch some of your other videos too. It’s always hard coming up with outdoor things to do. By the way, how did you get so many subscribers???
That’s what was written on the information plaque. Best to take it up with Credit Valley Conservation (who oversee the area) if you have differing information Tebbie.
It's hilarious that people are exclaiming over this "natural phenomenon" and "scenic wonder"....It was caused by poor farming and overgrazing. It used to be a wooded hill. So after ruining the area you put in a parking lot and boardwalk and charge people to see it!!! If you enjoy this view you really should put Chernobyl and Three Mile Island on your must see list.
"The Cheltenham Badlands is one of Ontario’s geological treasures, formed at the base of an ancient sea about 450 million years ago." From the Ontario Heritage Trust website who oversees the area...Just a little more than 6,000 years old ;)

Nope it's not a movie set, this Mars-like location actually exists in Ontario!
I’m so glad I got the chance to walk on the badlands before they shut it down.

Visited the place several years ago prior to its having the walkways installed and access restricted. Got lots of great photos.
WOW it’s so beautiful! It’s crazy that this is just a short drive from Toronto 🤯 Fantastic video Arienne! It immediately made us want to visit.
Thanks so much! Definitely worth checking out 🙌🏻
I love fall and miss the colors. This place is a must on see and on my bucket list.
This was on my Ontario bucket list for SO long! Thrilled to have finally made the trip to see the Badlands in person.

Fantastic!! just subscribed :)
Thanks so much! 😊
Nice video. On point. Thanks for mentioning reservations are required.
Thanks Rick, appreciate the comments!
Beautiful!!! Did you fly around for the filming? That's always a thrill!!!
My drone flew around for me 😆
Aren't the Cheltenham Badlands amazing?! I'm so glad you got out to see them and I'm sure this video will inspire others to do the same!
SO amazing!! Now I’m interested in seeing the Alberta Badlands!
Tried to go today after just finding out but no time slots available. Cannot believe I have never heard of it it before.
You’ll have better luck during the week if you can swing it
Glad I was able to walk there before they closed it off. Don't worry when I was there it was respectful but I actually was able to climb on the hills and check it out in person rather than from a distance.
Thanks Troy, sadly not all visitors were as respectful like yourself but I’m happy we can still visit.
すごい!ここ行ってみたい😭💓
Would it be possible to park the car on the side for a quick viewing in case you forget to make reservations?
Sadly no, the roads around the Cheltenham Badlands are a no parking zone and the police patrol frequently.
I've been meaning to visit this site for a while, and it seems like just something for a 'pit stop' while passing through, so I'll get to see it sometime, on some mission, somewhere.

Haha love it!
Admission fee include parking. If no, how much?
Yes admission fee doubles as the parking fee (all lumped together). $11.30 Mon - Thurs and $22.60 Fri - Sun and holidays. Fees are per car/booking.
@@seeusoontravel thanks
I guess the last time I was there was before 2015. Since there was no boardwalk and no cost I think. Is the cost only due to COVID?
I think there has been a cost for parking for a while now but the reservation system and limited numbers is because of COVID.

Oh perfect! The reservations booked up quick for this weekend. I’ve been working hard on videos for many years. You gotta just keep working at it 😉
It’s the lumpy, bumpy, hilly part of town outside of town.
Badlands is not that bad at all... it's a beauty mixed with a backdrop of the color of fall :-) stay safe :-)
Nope not at all! I wonder why they’re known as ‘badlands’... I guess cause you can’t grow anything on them?
450 million years???....... Ooh please Arienne

The earth is NOT over 400 million years old. ... Sorry to burst your bubble. It is only about 6000 years old.
