There are so many serious comments and arguments about the game design of growing strange, and how it is not fun and it has to be changed, and then you just have this comment
Now, I can beat three of the 7 random levels. I can beat Hearts of Darkness, Fear of Flying, and Seas of Death. I can't even stall the 1st two scissoroos. They oneshot lvl 40 Manic Eraser.

Here's my input on this entire thing. Read if you want to, don't read it if you don't want to: (Edit: everything in parenthesis in the revisions are changes that have been recommended through the people that have replied to this comment) Personally, I think that fun stages in The Battle Cats and basically any game are ones that give you a chance of winning, but you actually have to try to win in order to beat them. By this I mean that you do not completely destroy the enemies and the enemies do not completely destroy you, so it's a fair fight. None of these levels have that feeling of a fair fight, as it's either the enemies pound your cat army, or your cat army sails through the enemies (However, in these levels, it's usually the enemies with the advantage). Here's how I would balance each level so they're still difficult, but still fair: Color of Blood: Decrease the amount of capys in the level and debuff the Professor A. Fear of Flying: Remove the face entirely (Change the face into a bun bun or a different boss), decrease the length of the brollow and lil bun bun spam portion of the level. Wrath of Heaven: Only put one Winged Pigge and one Chickful A. Galactic Threat: Debuff the sloth, decrease the amount of Scissoroos in the level. Hearts of Darkness: Remove the razorback, nuff said. (It may be better to keep the razorback due to the fact that bombercat is useful when beating the level) Clash of Steel: Make everything 100%, descrease the amount of metal doges that spawn throughout the level (Make separate waves for the metal enemies) Seas of death: Remove the coffin doges (Decrease the amount of coffin doges), make the start longer so that the player has an opportunity to actually build up cash. For clash of steel, they could make three boss waves that are triggered by base health, not by time. One for metal one horn, one for smh, and one for the metal sir seal. They could all be at 150% or 200%. If that isn’t challenging enough, they could add another boss wave with cyberface, and since you’d have octopus that cancels shock waves, you’re good to go. Note: The boss waves wouldn’t come out randomly, meaning you can time when to put our your octopus for cyber face
I think there should be a boss in Fear of Flying. If not the Face, then Bun Bun. Galactic Threat doesn't even spawn that many Scissoroos, unless you mean only having 1 at the start, in which case I'd agree with you. The Razorback is what makes Hearts of Darkness merciless, and Bombercat counters the stage fairly well anyway so no changes are really necessary (like, c'mon, it's not exactly much harder than Taste of Success). Maybe 1 coffin Zoge for Seas of Death? After all, these are merciless stages.
So to address some of the replies made on my comment: 1. I agree with everyone that the face should be replaced with something like bun bun, and not erased entirely 2. I really like the idea that Ahmed Plays Games made about making multiple boss waves of metal enemies. However, the issue with that is that metal enemies are weak on their own, but strong if they're supporting each other. I don't know how to, but I think it would be better to make each wave have multiple enemies in it. For example, make an SMH wave with two SMH's in it, to balance out the fight. 3. Removing enemies isn't necessarily a bad thing if there's an overwhelming amount of them. I can understand where the argument is coming from that removing enemies is bad, as it takes away from the level. However, removing enemies isn't the only solution. It's just as effective to debuff enemies rather than remove them from the level in order to make the level easier. I based the majority of these changes on Lucas's criticism and general issues that have spawned throughout the battle cats community, which has to do partially with why I made the changes so harsh. 4. I agree with the changes that Vegeta Pixel made to my changes (lol change ception). The reason why I thought removing the razorback would be a good idea is because it was complained about that Hearts of Darkness forces you to bring bombercat for that reason. However, bombercat caries through the level, so I can see why keeping the razorback would still be ok. Also, The Sissoroos in Galactic threat can still push really hard if there's even two of them on the battle field, which is why I said to decrease the spawn rate of them.
I genuinely love growing strange, I like getting thrown into a metal stage with my setup that has no crit units, and having to spend another 300 energy just to get into another stage that my setup isn't effective against, it's truly the best thing ponos has ever done in a while 😁😁😁

This stage is seriously a pain. I have to stack like 5 aphrodite to even have a chance of beating the red stage, and if I want to beat the metal stage I'd have to put in Poseidon, which will make every other level a bit harder since I have to replace a unit. These are definitely the most uber reliant stages in the game
10 months later just got to it, got cat fruit 3rd try Lolol. Unlocked the stage 4 days ago, already got 2 cat fruits, have true form. I have Lufalan so metal stage dead. Mitama fucking carry me to heaven. Got dumb lucky and got her on a platinum tickets not knowing she is god damn broken as hell, ( with a few slow combos 1 Perma slows and normally only need two to perma slow). I hate the black stage.
I was thinking more of an approach where after An Elder Secret, you will always get, say, Fear of Flying, but when you beat that, you get put into another stage, say, Hearts of Darkness. This continues until the last stage, where you continue into No Return Flights. LOL Ignoring the last past, I think this would be a nice idea. You create an incentive for making a generalist deck, but those without generalist ctas could still get by with their 1-2 seeds every playthrough.
Hello lucas! I have to say that growing strange might be broken, in my friend’s account with +80 basic cats and hypermaxed rares and super rares he had to use continues to finish fear of flying. Though kasa jizo at 47 carries through the black level. But great video! Resumed my thoughts about it

They should decrease energy cost from 300 to 200. Also, creating a line-up that can handle all 7 stages is ridiculous. Aphrodite and Mitama or lose most of these stages basically. If there was a way to pick which stage you could tackle instead of RNG then this wouldn't be a problem. Even if say the 2nd stage took you to 3 possible stages instead of 7 it would be more than plausible to build line-ups for that. Sadly, Ponos will most likely keep this how it is and leave us players suffering.
Iroh Ozaii I do too, but it's still very tedious to play these stages dozens of times just to true form legend cats. Not everyone will have Mitama or Aphrodite or boosted Rares/Super Rares.
While I am nowhere near getting to Growing Strange, I can definitely see the problems with it, especially the insanely strict RNG that it requires. Maybe they could give a 30% chance for a seed in the first stage, and 30% chance for a fruit in the other 7 stages. It'll still take a long time to farm Elder Fruits, but the RNG will be a little more forgiving, allowing players to farm even if they can't beat the 7 type-specific stages.

The ubers i used were definitely not generalist, with Pai Pai DX and bazibastra. I can actually consistently do all the stages except clash of steel (because just no) and seas of death (ponos why)

growing strange is just a bit too hard... first the starting stage is just a extreamly hard catfriut jublelie, and without anti wave its pretty much impossible since the beserk kory is at 150% alone side a calmari to surport makes it really annoying to deal with and there are also a billion other things to deal with. the floating stage is have brolow(buff) and pigeon (buff) at start. which makes it hard to stall since brollow can deal with Eraser no problem and pigeon can take care the long range units(jizo, sarukani) and after hitting the base, a massive army of enemy come out, now there are lil bun bun(almost as much hp as the bun bun in eoc chapter 3 and much more dps and damge) and the face who is also extreamly buff, from what i see the face tanks so that all wave of enemy come out.and this stage u 100% need octupus if u are low level. the red stage is in my opnien one of the hardest or the hardest. a extreamly buff shy boy at start, and after hitting the base, capy begain to spawn and profesor A and a hackey, the hard part of this is, no every part in this level is hard... u need long range unit to deal with professor A but hackey will snipe them, also to make it worse they have a lot of capy in front to deal with the spam unit, and mostlikly u gonna bring raman and 2 Eraser, but raman have a slow recharge compare to the other spam unit, and Another annoying thing is that if hackey snipe a part of u spam(or it is 100% going to hit them) u will have a part will no unit to protect u ubers. and aphrodite really do not work well since she will get snipe, if u have the anti red eva it will be much easier though. the black stage is also have some otter(black) and tackey at start. and when u hit base they become to spam a army of black. a couple seconds later a razor back gonna come out, u need bomber here other wise its losing battle, u might Think if razor back is stoped its all easy, but black enemy have extream push Power, so u also need a crowed controler like jizo. and there are also tackey sniping u cats. the Alien stage might looks easy, but its really not... all enemy are extreamly buff, and if u do not have aphrodite or extreamly boooosted cats, u pretty much lose, trust me the level was extreamly hard for me since i do not have aphrodite, and at start be carefull of the Alien kangru. they can be extreamly dangoures. and the boss wave have extreamly push Power, if am not wrong the ursa major have the same stat as the once in mystours order..........and a elder sloth which have a long range with over 1mil hp. The angel u need raman or its a lose, since 2 wiged pigge have extreamly high push Power. and other annoying enemy(chickful A and calamaria) to help, this stage is probrobley most easy one not alot to talk about. The zombie stage is impossible with out zombie kill, coffin doge and zammel who can not be killed with out being zk and also other zombie to surport attack ur base(zomboe, zacky peng and zang ru). the metal one................yeah maby one of the hardest metal stages is already hard and this stage have all enemy at 300%... why is metal stage hard? its beacuse rng, also u can not restart the level which makes. the sir metal seal have a bit less hp than metal cyclone and alot less dmg, but what makes its hard is that his speed, much faster than the metal cyclone and 300% supermetal hippoe is not any joke.
In a sense, I think we all know what PONOS is trying to drive at, it’s time to need Ubers like *need* them and not somehow be able to beat it with NO GACHA or cheese method. Notice that a lot of these new recent Ubers are more flexible against a wider range of enemies? Seas of death is the WORST stage: even if you bring zombie killers it still is extremely difficult because of Zamelle and Zang Roos. And I agree that growing strange is very frustrating and my suggestion would also be to increase the drop rate of a catfruit to 10-20%
I don’t feel like PONOS would listen to us that much but I feel that they have gotten in touch with the community before, they have made the concept of a “game” questionable with statements such as “not fun”. This is a game, not meant to be a challenge to people’s feelings.

Honestly what were they thinking when they designed this. I get why theres stuff like hackey and shit, they wanted to use the main(?) enemies from each type in these stages, but my god are these the most boosted stages ive seen to date. Its physically impossible to make a lineup for all 7 stages, even with ubers. If you don't have aphro, mitama or jizo, your basically fucked in that regard. The only people who are actually defending growing strange are those people with several nekolugas, gao, mitama, or pretty much any uber who is good for general use. try doing the stages without them. without having +70 super rares or rares. see how many stages you can get by without using any ubers. sure some stages can be done but generalizing 7 different stages without ubers or +70 gacha is simply impossible. The hardest part about it is finding that balance that can complete everything it cant be too focused on metal or red because then you cant beat other stages. its gotta be some of all like 1/7 red 1/7 alien 1/7 metal 1/7 black 1/7 zombies 1/7 angels 1/7 floating But the thing is you cant really make something for all of them normally so you need to have cats with abilities against multiple types while still being good enough to deal with the certain type of enemies. example would be kasa jizo is good against angels and blacks but isnt good against winged piggie. The only cats that actually have decent stats against multiple enemies are ubers and legends. but the thing is legends really arent strong enough to make that big of a difference until you get their TFs but you cant get their TFs until you beat the stage youve been working on at most 25 times. or maybe slightly less by getting lucky.
I'd defend Growing Strange against your 1st statement. I got 2 elder seed (out of more than 10 times clearing the 1st stage), my R/SR is definitely below +70, and my Uber base does not contain many well-rounded Units against most enemies (after more than 2 years playing the game) PONOS cannot always pleasing players. Growing Strange is hella hard without good Ubers, but I'd not blame them for that and ask for a debuff. It's supposed to be really late game and players encountering this stage must have a ton of experience in the game. And making this stage this intense proves that this game is not a P2W game. You'd need to be good enough to beat certain things, and that will further develop the game as well as the community of this game. If you don't feel like you could do it, just ignore the stage and play others. There're tons of stages that you can do instead of this.
I like Growing Strange. It's a farming stage with variety and just the right level of challenge for high level players with a good number of ubers. The 1% drop rate for fruits means you'll probably have to farm it quite a bit to get what you want (which is pretty typical for Battle Cats) and it's somewhat predictable how much farming you need, but they offer the satisfaction of getting really lucky and skipping five farming stages at once. That would be less satisfying if it were 20%, instead being a frustration when you don't get it, and I don't mind playing it five times for one fruit anyway; that isn't even enough to go through all the colors if you don't fail multiple times. It gives players something to work towards instead of just getting their TFs as soon as the update is released and dropping the game until next update. It's indicative of the new direction they're trying to take the game with Uncanny Legends and fits quite well. Energy cost is fine since it's more advanced than the other catfruit farming stages. And I like being able to consistently challenge two catfruit stages at once for the weekly challenges. I'll concede the metal and maybe zombie stages could be a problem if you don't have relevant ubers and are a bit too luck-based even if you do, so those are less defensible. Also Cosmo's TF fruit requirement is dumb.
"just the right level for high level players" High level players are the only ones actually complaining. once you get this far and beat relic bun bun, you are a high level player. the only reason people are liking this is because of the stupidly amount of good ubers they have. that what this entire thing depends on. RNG and good ubers. if you dont have ubers good for this then its just oh well. the fact that you have to farm this thing atleast 25(30 if you want to get drama TF). and there isnt frustration with 20% chance. why even have a fruit chance if its 1%? it literally has something great that you will never get. THAT is what is frustrating the energy should DEFINATELY be lowered. you can only play it about 2 or 3 times before the event ends abd there isnt even a guarantee you will get the stage you can beat. its impossible to beat all 7 stages AND the starting stage without having good ubers for this. That is where they went wrong. every other stage can be beaten without ubers. but this is impossible without ubers or stupidly overpowered super/rares that are +70
At this point in the game, anybody who spends their catfood wisely will have plenty of ubers. It's still somewhat RNG-based which ones you have, but it's still easy to have at least one from each set and highly unlikely that all the ubers you have will be useless for these stages. Never get? I got it on my third or fourth play. Really lucky I know, but that's the point. Yes, you're intended to play it 25+ times, but there's that small chance you'll get lucky like I did. People like playing the lottery. And 25+ times really isn't that many by Battle Cats standards. How many times did you play the SoL, EoC, and CotC stages farming treasures? How many times have you played ticket and XP farming stages (with the good XP farming stages costing even more energy than Growing Strange)? People are only complaining about farming Growing Strange now because they dislike the stage. I said people would be frustrated if it was 20% and they didn't get it after, say, 10 plays for the same reason people complain about not getting treasures or other unlikely stage drops. Again, 300 isn't that much. It's less than XP stages, and it comes around daily. Even if you only play it twice per day you can get all the fruits you need in a few weeks. Which, again, isn't that much farming, really. The regular gacha TFs they add with each update just feel like, "Oh, I already have most of what I need so I'll just play that stage a couple times before I go to sleep then finish the new SoL chapter and I'm done with all the content they added this update." This way it keeps you coming back for a while and the farming is less tedious because of the variety and uncertainty. Ultimately, I think people are just frustrated at the difficulty of this stage so they're finding various things to complain about.
i have plenty of ubers, that doesnt guarantee the ubers i get will be the specific ones that will help, thats why i said specific and not just ubers in general.
There is a difference, playing an easy stage 25 times is nothing, playing a stage that you can barely scrape by on rarely 25 times AND beating it is nightmarish. i got my second seed today, only my second. by getting fear of flying. and guess what after i beat it? it didnt even give me the option to move on to another stage.

I honestly don't find growing strange to be that bad. it's kinda fun to go into the level and see what rng gives you for the continuation level, like how easy the zombie and black stages are, at least for me. it's a very unique idea to catfruit farming, and while it isn't as easy as getting normal catfruit, it adds a fun challenge and rng.
I've already evolved my 5 legends, delinquent cat and drama cats. I even have 2 fruits and one seed saved in the storage waiting to get catman and cat clan heroes and I didn't know that there was a 1% chance of getting a fruit. Thank you for that big chance ponos

I don't have Mitama, I don't have Aphrodite, I don't have Paladin. I can literally only defeat Hearts of Darkness and Fear of Flying.
Shockwave Demon I have Aphrodite and i can still only beat those two stages, even then i lose to hearts of darkness 4 out of 5 times
Now, I can beat three of the 7 random levels. I can beat Hearts of Darkness, Fear of Flying, and Seas of Death. I can't even stall the 1st two scissoroos. They oneshot lvl 40 Manic Eraser.

Here's my input on this entire thing. Read if you want to, don't read it if you don't want to:
(Edit: everything in parenthesis in the revisions are changes that have been recommended through the people that have replied to this comment)
Personally, I think that fun stages in The Battle Cats and basically any game are ones that give you a chance of winning, but you actually have to try to win in order to beat them. By this I mean that you do not completely destroy the enemies and the enemies do not completely destroy you, so it's a fair fight. None of these levels have that feeling of a fair fight, as it's either the enemies pound your cat army, or your cat army sails through the enemies (However, in these levels, it's usually the enemies with the advantage). Here's how I would balance each level so they're still difficult, but still fair:
Color of Blood: Decrease the amount of capys in the level and debuff the Professor A.
Fear of Flying: Remove the face entirely (Change the face into a bun bun or a different boss), decrease the length of the brollow and lil bun bun spam portion of the level.
Wrath of Heaven: Only put one Winged Pigge and one Chickful A.
Galactic Threat: Debuff the sloth, decrease the amount of Scissoroos in the level.
Hearts of Darkness: Remove the razorback, nuff said. (It may be better to keep the razorback due to the fact that bombercat is useful when beating the level)
Clash of Steel: Make everything 100%, descrease the amount of metal doges that spawn throughout the level (Make separate waves for the metal enemies)
Seas of death: Remove the coffin doges (Decrease the amount of coffin doges), make the start longer so that the player has an opportunity to actually build up cash.

For clash of steel, they could make three boss waves that are triggered by base health, not by time. One for metal one horn, one for smh, and one for the metal sir seal. They could all be at 150% or 200%. If that isn’t challenging enough, they could add another boss wave with cyberface, and since you’d have octopus that cancels shock waves, you’re good to go. Note: The boss waves wouldn’t come out randomly, meaning you can time when to put our your octopus for cyber face

I think there should be a boss in Fear of Flying. If not the Face, then Bun Bun.
Galactic Threat doesn't even spawn that many Scissoroos, unless you mean only having 1 at the start, in which case I'd agree with you.
The Razorback is what makes Hearts of Darkness merciless, and Bombercat counters the stage fairly well anyway so no changes are really necessary (like, c'mon, it's not exactly much harder than Taste of Success).
Maybe 1 coffin Zoge for Seas of Death? After all, these are merciless stages.
So to address some of the replies made on my comment:
1. I agree with everyone that the face should be replaced with something like bun bun, and not erased entirely
2. I really like the idea that Ahmed Plays Games made about making multiple boss waves of metal enemies. However, the issue with that is that metal enemies are weak on their own, but strong if they're supporting each other. I don't know how to, but I think it would be better to make each wave have multiple enemies in it. For example, make an SMH wave with two SMH's in it, to balance out the fight.
3. Removing enemies isn't necessarily a bad thing if there's an overwhelming amount of them. I can understand where the argument is coming from that removing enemies is bad, as it takes away from the level. However, removing enemies isn't the only solution. It's just as effective to debuff enemies rather than remove them from the level in order to make the level easier. I based the majority of these changes on Lucas's criticism and general issues that have spawned throughout the battle cats community, which has to do partially with why I made the changes so harsh.
4. I agree with the changes that Vegeta Pixel made to my changes (lol change ception). The reason why I thought removing the razorback would be a good idea is because it was complained about that Hearts of Darkness forces you to bring bombercat for that reason. However, bombercat caries through the level, so I can see why keeping the razorback would still be ok. Also, The Sissoroos in Galactic threat can still push really hard if there's even two of them on the battle field, which is why I said to decrease the spawn rate of them.
I genuinely love growing strange, I like getting thrown into a metal stage with my setup that has no crit units, and having to spend another 300 energy just to get into another stage that my setup isn't effective against, it's truly the best thing ponos has ever done in a while 😁😁😁

This stage is seriously a pain. I have to stack like 5 aphrodite to even have a chance of beating the red stage, and if I want to beat the metal stage I'd have to put in Poseidon, which will make every other level a bit harder since I have to replace a unit.
These are definitely the most uber reliant stages in the game

10 months later just got to it, got cat fruit 3rd try Lolol. Unlocked the stage 4 days ago, already got 2 cat fruits, have true form. I have Lufalan so metal stage dead. Mitama fucking carry me to heaven. Got dumb lucky and got her on a platinum tickets not knowing she is god damn broken as hell, ( with a few slow combos 1 Perma slows and normally only need two to perma slow). I hate the black stage.
Personally i think it would be a lot easier to separate the 7 stages in each day of the week for example monday red, tuesday floating, etc

I was thinking more of an approach where after An Elder Secret, you will always get, say, Fear of Flying, but when you beat that, you get put into another stage, say, Hearts of Darkness. This continues until the last stage, where you continue into No Return Flights. LOL
Ignoring the last past, I think this would be a nice idea. You create an incentive for making a generalist deck, but those without generalist ctas could still get by with their 1-2 seeds every playthrough.

They should decrease energy cost from 300 to 200. Also, creating a line-up that can handle all 7 stages is ridiculous. Aphrodite and Mitama or lose most of these stages basically. If there was a way to pick which stage you could tackle instead of RNG then this wouldn't be a problem. Even if say the 2nd stage took you to 3 possible stages instead of 7 it would be more than plausible to build line-ups for that. Sadly, Ponos will most likely keep this how it is and leave us players suffering.

While I am nowhere near getting to Growing Strange, I can definitely see the problems with it, especially the insanely strict RNG that it requires. Maybe they could give a 30% chance for a seed in the first stage, and 30% chance for a fruit in the other 7 stages. It'll still take a long time to farm Elder Fruits, but the RNG will be a little more forgiving, allowing players to farm even if they can't beat the 7 type-specific stages.

growing strange is just a bit too hard... first the starting stage is just a extreamly hard catfriut jublelie, and without anti wave its pretty much impossible since the beserk kory is at 150% alone side a calmari to surport makes it really annoying to deal with and there are also a billion other things to deal with. the floating stage is have brolow(buff) and pigeon (buff) at start. which makes it hard to stall since brollow can deal with Eraser no problem and pigeon can take care the long range units(jizo, sarukani) and after hitting the base, a massive army of enemy come out, now there are lil bun bun(almost as much hp as the bun bun in eoc chapter 3 and much more dps and damge) and the face who is also extreamly buff, from what i see the face tanks so that all wave of enemy come out.and this stage u 100% need octupus if u are low level. the red stage is in my opnien one of the hardest or the hardest. a extreamly buff shy boy at start, and after hitting the base, capy begain to spawn and profesor A and a hackey, the hard part of this is, no every part in this level is hard... u need long range unit to deal with professor A but hackey will snipe them, also to make it worse they have a lot of capy in front to deal with the spam unit, and mostlikly u gonna bring raman and 2 Eraser, but raman have a slow recharge compare to the other spam unit, and Another annoying thing is that if hackey snipe a part of u spam(or it is 100% going to hit them) u will have a part will no unit to protect u ubers. and aphrodite really do not work well since she will get snipe, if u have the anti red eva it will be much easier though. the black stage is also have some otter(black) and tackey at start. and when u hit base they become to spam a army of black. a couple seconds later a razor back gonna come out, u need bomber here other wise its losing battle, u might Think if razor back is stoped its all easy, but black enemy have extream push Power, so u also need a crowed controler like jizo. and there are also tackey sniping u cats. the Alien stage might looks easy, but its really not... all enemy are extreamly buff, and if u do not have aphrodite or extreamly boooosted cats, u pretty much lose, trust me the level was extreamly hard for me since i do not have aphrodite, and at start be carefull of the Alien kangru. they can be extreamly dangoures. and the boss wave have extreamly push Power, if am not wrong the ursa major have the same stat as the once in mystours order..........and a elder sloth which have a long range with over 1mil hp. The angel u need raman or its a lose, since 2 wiged pigge have extreamly high push Power. and other annoying enemy(chickful A and calamaria) to help, this stage is probrobley most easy one not alot to talk about. The zombie stage is impossible with out zombie kill, coffin doge and zammel who can not be killed with out being zk and also other zombie to surport attack ur base(zomboe, zacky peng and zang ru). the metal one................yeah maby one of the hardest metal stages is already hard and this stage have all enemy at 300%... why is metal stage hard? its beacuse rng, also u can not restart the level which makes. the sir metal seal have a bit less hp than metal cyclone and alot less dmg, but what makes its hard is that his speed, much faster than the metal cyclone and 300% supermetal hippoe is not any joke.

In a sense, I think we all know what PONOS is trying to drive at, it’s time to need Ubers like *need* them and not somehow be able to beat it with NO GACHA or cheese method. Notice that a lot of these new recent Ubers are more flexible against a wider range of enemies? In my opinion this is what 7.0 will be steering towards, and if u don’t like it then quit

Seas of death is the WORST stage: even if you bring zombie killers it still is extremely difficult because of Zamelle and Zang Roos. And I agree that growing strange is very frustrating and my suggestion would also be to increase the drop rate of a catfruit to 10-20%

Now that I can finally access it, I realized that this stage isn't even that bad...
Honestly what were they thinking when they designed this.
I get why theres stuff like hackey and shit, they wanted to use the main(?) enemies from each type in these stages, but my god are these the most boosted stages ive seen to date. Its physically impossible to make a lineup for all 7 stages, even with ubers. If you don't have aphro, mitama or jizo, your basically fucked in that regard.
This is dumb and it needs to change

The only people who are actually defending growing strange are those people with several nekolugas, gao, mitama, or pretty much any uber who is good for general use. try doing the stages without them. without having +70 super rares or rares. see how many stages you can get by without using any ubers. sure some stages can be done but generalizing 7 different stages without ubers or +70 gacha is simply impossible.
The hardest part about it is finding that balance that can complete everything
it cant be too focused on metal or red because then you cant beat other stages. its gotta be some of all

1/7 alien
1/7 metal
1/7 black
1/7 zombies
1/7 angels
1/7 floating
But the thing is you cant really make something for all of them normally so you need to have cats with abilities against multiple types while still being good enough to deal with the certain type of enemies. example would be kasa jizo is good against angels and blacks but isnt good against winged piggie.
The only cats that actually have decent stats against multiple enemies are ubers and legends. but the thing is legends really arent strong enough to make that big of a difference until you get their TFs but you cant get their TFs until you beat the stage youve been working on at most 25 times. or maybe slightly less by getting lucky.

I'd defend Growing Strange against your 1st statement. I got 2 elder seed (out of more than 10 times clearing the 1st stage), my R/SR is definitely below +70, and my Uber base does not contain many well-rounded Units against most enemies (after more than 2 years playing the game)
PONOS cannot always pleasing players. Growing Strange is hella hard without good Ubers, but I'd not blame them for that and ask for a debuff. It's supposed to be really late game and players encountering this stage must have a ton of experience in the game.
And making this stage this intense proves that this game is not a P2W game. You'd need to be good enough to beat certain things, and that will further develop the game as well as the community of this game.
If you don't feel like you could do it, just ignore the stage and play others. There're tons of stages that you can do instead of this.

I like Growing Strange. It's a farming stage with variety and just the right level of challenge for high level players with a good number of ubers. The 1% drop rate for fruits means you'll probably have to farm it quite a bit to get what you want (which is pretty typical for Battle Cats) and it's somewhat predictable how much farming you need, but they offer the satisfaction of getting really lucky and skipping five farming stages at once. That would be less satisfying if it were 20%, instead being a frustration when you don't get it, and I don't mind playing it five times for one fruit anyway; that isn't even enough to go through all the colors if you don't fail multiple times. It gives players something to work towards instead of just getting their TFs as soon as the update is released and dropping the game until next update. It's indicative of the new direction they're trying to take the game with Uncanny Legends and fits quite well. Energy cost is fine since it's more advanced than the other catfruit farming stages. And I like being able to consistently challenge two catfruit stages at once for the weekly challenges. I'll concede the metal and maybe zombie stages could be a problem if you don't have relevant ubers and are a bit too luck-based even if you do, so those are less defensible. Also Cosmo's TF fruit requirement is dumb.

High level players are the only ones actually complaining. once you get this far and beat relic bun bun, you are a high level player. the only reason people are liking this is because of the stupidly amount of good ubers they have. that what this entire thing depends on. RNG and good ubers. if you dont have ubers good for this then its just oh well. the fact that you have to farm this thing atleast 25(30 if you want to get drama TF).
and there isnt frustration with 20% chance. why even have a fruit chance if its 1%? it literally has something great that you will never get. THAT is what is frustrating
the energy should DEFINATELY be lowered. you can only play it about 2 or 3 times before the event ends abd there isnt even a guarantee you will get the stage you can beat. its impossible to beat all 7 stages AND the starting stage without having good ubers for this. That is where they went wrong. every other stage can be beaten without ubers. but this is impossible without ubers or stupidly overpowered super/rares that are +70
At this point in the game, anybody who spends their catfood wisely will have plenty of ubers. It's still somewhat RNG-based which ones you have, but it's still easy to have at least one from each set and highly unlikely that all the ubers you have will be useless for these stages.
Never get? I got it on my third or fourth play. Really lucky I know, but that's the point. Yes, you're intended to play it 25+ times, but there's that small chance you'll get lucky like I did. People like playing the lottery. And 25+ times really isn't that many by Battle Cats standards. How many times did you play the SoL, EoC, and CotC stages farming treasures? How many times have you played ticket and XP farming stages (with the good XP farming stages costing even more energy than Growing Strange)? People are only complaining about farming Growing Strange now because they dislike the stage. I said people would be frustrated if it was 20% and they didn't get it after, say, 10 plays for the same reason people complain about not getting treasures or other unlikely stage drops.
Again, 300 isn't that much. It's less than XP stages, and it comes around daily. Even if you only play it twice per day you can get all the fruits you need in a few weeks. Which, again, isn't that much farming, really. The regular gacha TFs they add with each update just feel like, "Oh, I already have most of what I need so I'll just play that stage a couple times before I go to sleep then finish the new SoL chapter and I'm done with all the content they added this update." This way it keeps you coming back for a while and the farming is less tedious because of the variety and uncertainty. Ultimately, I think people are just frustrated at the difficulty of this stage so they're finding various things to complain about.
i have plenty of ubers, that doesnt guarantee the ubers i get will be the specific ones that will help, thats why i said specific and not just ubers in general.
There is a difference, playing an easy stage 25 times is nothing, playing a stage that you can barely scrape by on rarely 25 times AND beating it is nightmarish. i got my second seed today, only my second. by getting fear of flying. and guess what after i beat it? it didnt even give me the option to move on to another stage.

I honestly don't find growing strange to be that bad. it's kinda fun to go into the level and see what rng gives you for the continuation level, like how easy the zombie and black stages are, at least for me. it's a very unique idea to catfruit farming, and while it isn't as easy as getting normal catfruit, it adds a fun challenge and rng.

I've already evolved my 5 legends, delinquent cat and drama cats. I even have 2 fruits and one seed saved in the storage waiting to get catman and cat clan heroes and I didn't know that there was a 1% chance of getting a fruit. Thank you for that big chance ponos
