    Thank you, Justin. Yeah, I have two of these. You can sure stuff a lot in these bags, and with the 5 inch width you get the stuff out again easily.

    These 12x5 bags are great, aren't they? Instead of the iso-butane canister, I fit a Solo Stove in mine at the top (unlimited fuel). Plus, with the 12x5 bag you don't have to fight trying to get your cups and bottles out like the folks who have a smaller diameter bag. Thanks for the video.

      I know this is a old post (and video for that matter), but I hope you can answer some questions:
      You are referring to the Solo Stove Lite, correct?
      How has it held up?
      Do you nest the Pot 900 with it?
      If so how well does it work? (Hard to remove from bag, gets the pot excessively dirty, anything you wish was different, etc.)
      Have you found a better or alternative kit for this bag since?

      @@DracDrakens My Maxpedition Water Bottle 12 x 5 is a brute and easily handles the Solo Stove Lite. Btw, I don't believe the 900 pot would fit. The only downside (other than the price) is that the bag, itself, is kind of heavy, even before you put anything in it. You might want to check out Center Line Systems. They are an American Company based up in Minnesota and this guy makes heirloom quality stuff. He has something called the Scout Bottle Carrier. The Solo Solo Stove Lite would fit in it nicely, even nesting in the 900 pot. I just checked the site and they are going for $95. Yeah, I know, kind of pricey, but top-notch gear. He's the guy who makes the "Mother Canteen Carrier" which is my favorite bag.

      @@MrWmburr7 Thanks For the reply.
      I apologize that I didn't make it more clear, I have purchased 2 of the Maxpedition 12 x 5 bags. I agree the bags are heavy, but they are also very heavy duty. At current I am trying to find a good set up for them.
      I originally planed on using one for the 64oz Pathfinder Nesting set, and the other was free from the BOGO sale, but have decided that I would like to carry a wood burning cooking stove (been lots of fires lately and my county is under contained fires only at least part of every year) in the other bag.
      Your original post brought to my attention the Solo Stove, I tend to have bad luck with the folding wood stoves. So I thought I would ask about it, since you have experience with the system.
      Also I am having reservations about buying the Pathfinder set, seems there are some QC problems, and the price is higher than I would like.

      @@DracDrakens I'm a Vietnam veteran and that means I'm really old! :-) In the past few years my knees have given out, so my days of going out in the woods are over. But I like making different kits, bags, and bottle holders for my grand-kids to inherit when I pass on. I've purchased auxiliary side pouches for my Maxpedition 5 x 7's (I also have two). These pouches are about 8 inches tall and you can find a plethora of them on Amazon by just typing "pouches". For wood stoves, I purchased an actual, made in America, Bush Buddy Stove. It's a lot lighter than the Solo Stove, but almost exactly the same size. If you ever want to try another "box" stove, may I recommend the Bushcraft Essentials Bushbox LF? It can be used with bio-mass, Esbit, or spirit burners, and comes in a super-light titanium version. Hey, good luck, my friend.

    Will a yeti rambler 64 oz bottle fit in this maxpedition?

  • @pspvita99
    @pspvita99 7 лет назад +1

    I'm looking for something kinda like this, but bigger, my water bottle is 64ounces, it has a handle, and it is big and round, I baisicly want a Mollie attached body water hulster basicly.

    • @guns4funcajanajustin
      @guns4funcajanajustin  7 лет назад

      Anything bigger then this is going to be heavy real heavy! I would just get you a Sawyer water filter and get water as you go on a hike if it is avalible

    • @pspvita99
      @pspvita99 7 лет назад

      guns4funcajanajustin Thanks for the reply. I just ended up getting another water bottle. Its 64ounces, and it has a ring on the top of the bottle, which I can attach to a D-Ring on my back packs shoulder strap. This works out really well, because now its really close to me, for easy access. I am getting the Katadyn Vario Water Filter as well, which seems like a perfect combination. I shouldn't be running out of water lol. I don't mind a little weight. I prefer to somewhat be prepared rather than be comftorble all the time, but to be honest my back pack completely loaded down with the gear I need isn't to heavy for me. I wouldn't recommend a smaller person Carrie what I do, but for me its comftorble, and a perfect setup.

    • @pspvita99

      guns4funcajanajustin Also now that I look at the specs/ diameter/ the dimensions of the water bottle I just bought, and the water bottle holder your reviewing, the water bottle I just bought would fit in this water bottle holder. The water bottle I got is 64 ounces. I might decide to get this at some point, I don't need it, but it would add a little more space in my backpack. I really like my backpack now too, Upgraded to one with one huge main compartment, one big smaller compartment, two side pouches, that are removable, and attached with molle, I also have an edc pouch, filled with knives, fire starter materials, a flash light, Which is also connected with molle, The back pack also has a decent scout pack that mounts to the bottom of the back pack, I also have a molle/carabineer mounted pouch, that I keep my portable battery packs in, two are twenty eight thousand mah, and two are sixteen thousand mah, I also have a solar powered portable battery pack as well, so my power needs are handled for a good while, I may get a few more portable battery packs in the future as well, just to add to the collection and be sure.
