I Timothy 4:14 -Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. Acts 13:1-3 reads, Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.
As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.
And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.
I Timothy 4:14 -Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.
In Christian churches, the practice called laying on of hands is used as a symbol and a formal way to call on the Holy Ghost during; baptisms, healing services, blessings, the consecrating of priests, ministers, elders, deacons, and other church officers(usher board, nurse, prayer warrior or etc.) Also. The laying of hands are for church sacraments and holy ceremonies.
Laying the hands part of the service can be used to rebuke demonic spirits and Satan.
Hebrews 6:1-4 reads, Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God.
Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgement.
And this will we do, if God permit.
For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come
The laying of hands were throughout the Old Testament. Too.
Numbers 8:10 -And thou shalt bring the Levites before the Lord: and the children of Israel shall put their hands upon the Levites:
And Aaron shall offer the Levites before the Lord for an offering of the children of Israel, that they may carry the service of the Lord.
Numbers 27:18-20 -And the Lord said unto Moses, Take the Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit, and lay thine hand upon him;
And set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation; and give him a charge in their sight.
And thou shalt put some of thine honour upon him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may be obedient.
Others and Jesus laid his hands on people to bless and to heal them.
Luke 20:17-21 says, And Jesus beheld them, and said, "What is this then that is written, The stone which the builder's rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?
Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder."
And the chief priests and the scribes the same hour sought to lay hands on him; and they feared the people: for they perceived that he had spoken this parable against them.
And they watched him, and sent forth spies, which should feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of his words, that so they might deliver him unto the power and authority of the governor.
And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly
But the devil servants can put their hands upon you.
Luke 21:12 -But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's(Jesus' name) sake.
Jesus laid his hand on betrayer Judas.
Luke 22:47-53 says, And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.
But Jesus said unto him, "Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?"
When they which were about him saw what would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?
And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.
And Jesus answered and said, "Suffer ye thus far."
And he touched his ear, and healed him.
Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, "Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves?
When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness."
Jesus healing touch often described as "laying his hands on" the one to be healed.
Matthew 9:18-26, While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, "My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live."
And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples.

Jesus healed the blind man in Mark 8:22-25.

In Acts, Jesus ascended into heaven, while his apostles becomes his hands. Being like Jesus they healed with their laying of the hands. Ananias lays his hands on Paul, three days after the Damascus road encounter, to restore his sight.

For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.
And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, "Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
Then Paul's hands become miraculously.
Acts 19:11-13, And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul.

Fear
Any fear is coming from the devil.
II Timothy 1:7 -For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Isaiah 43:1 -But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.
Fear will make you buckle and settle for less than God's best.
It'll rob your peace and joy.
Deuteronomy 31:8 -And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.
Romans 8:28 -And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
The enemy uses fear to mess up our hope and faith.
I John 4:18 -There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
God is love. Perfect love. The closer we come to him the less power fear has over us.

We must also know -for they persecuted the prophets.

They persecuted Jesus. And we shall suffer persecution just like Jesus.

Acts 28:8 -And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.
Acts is about the giving and receiving of the Holy Spirit through the laying on of hands. As the gospel makes progress from Jerusalem and Judea, to Samaria, and then beyond, to the ends of the ends of the earth.
Acts 1:8 -But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
God is pleased to use the apostles' laying on of hands as a visible marker and means of the coming of the Spirit among new people and places first in Samaria and then beyond, in Ephesus.
Acts 8:14-18 reads, Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:

Laying on of hands like anointing and fasting is not magic it is God's means of grace.
It is a means of God's grace to the congregation, and beyond, in showing who are the official leaders to whom they will seek to submit to.
Hebrews 13:6 -So that we may bodly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
God is the giver and the blesser!
