Do NOT worry about pausing too much if you have something meaningful to say. If they want to hear the video they can go listen to it. This here is a REACTION VIDEO, so the point is actually YOUR REACTION. Just try to pause at the end of musical phrases so you’re not interrupting an incredible riff or something, and then roll it back a little so we can hear what you’re talking about in context.
    Great reaction! Keep it up!

I'm not sure if anyone mentioned it, but this is filmed in Eli's old high school. One of the basement rooms has an old dental chair with "blood stains" on it--some horror movie was filmed there too. I was (eeek) in high school when this came out and this song was iconic. Of course, nobody singing it could hit that Tyler scream but VoicePlay nailed it. And in harmony no less! Omar was perfect for this one and Layne's vocal sound effects were amazing. Geoff's low notes balancing the tenors, and Cesar and Eli killed it as always. Those harmonies! It's kind of a post apocalyptic theme, but the "costumes" were pretty spot on for the late 80's. It's slowed down a bit from the original, but the video makes the lyrics that much more powerful. VoicePlay can do it all. Geoff is releasing a new one tomorrow on Patreon too.

Rob Dietz is an arranger that they have worked with occasionally for some time now. He did We’re Good, and a lot of their minis and TikTok videos. Usually if they use Rob he gets complete billing even if they tweak the arrangement some. So in this case, Geoff must have made significant changes or just collaborated with Rob. Otherwise Geoff wouldn’t be named.
But usually either Geoff or Layne do an arrangement, then whoever does will take the lead on sets, costuming, makeup design, directing and editing the videos. (These days Eli does most of the lighting and they send the audio to Ed Boyer for final editing.) When a makeup artist is needed, their go to choice is Rick Underwood, who has been working with them for years. Sometimes Geoff and Layne control the camera(s), but most often they have a cameraman and his assistant. Geoff and Layne alternate videos, but since they are doing almost everything themselves it would be nearly impossible to do two full videos a month. (Believe me - I think most of their fans would wish for more.) and that’s without doing live shows. (Things got a little backed up last month when they opened a show in Colorado for Ryan Tedder.). So unfortunately I think all we can expect is one full video and a handful of minis and/or TikTok videos. But we know that whatever we get will be the highest quality, because they control everything.

Firstly I don't know why people watch reactions if they hate pauses the original video exists! This is a fantastic arrangement by Geoff I just love everything he does tbh. Although a month seems a long time to wait we also get one a month from solo Geoff. I'd rather have this quality once a month than a half arsed affair more regularly. I do love Omar with VP but I also like Ashley & Rachel etc. The four boys plus whatever extra voice fits is my preference. Glad you enjoyed this so much.

Great reaction. Every single one of your pauses was about the music, and I never have a problem with that. Rob Dietz did We're Good, Magic Dance, Halloween Singers go Psycho, Remember Me and Holiday Movie Mini Medley. The first was full length, the others are minis. (And if you've been skipping over the minis, you should go back and pick them up, 2-3 at a time. They're little gems. My personal theory is that Layne was trying a lot of new stuff in the sound effect minis, and it was fun to hear everyone doing them. But I could be dead wrong.

Pausing is the point of reaction videos, to stop when you hear something cool or interesting and talk about it. some people prefer to listen to the whole sing without pausing, and then talk about it at the end, or play it a second time with pausing then. but most reactors do what you do, pause when they hear something they want to talk about. people pausing just to pause is annoying, but when you have something to say about what you just heard, it's totally valid to pause. a good middle way could be to wait with pausing till the end of a sentence or verse, and then rewind a bit to catch the transition. but just pause when ever you feel like it, there will always be people who get annoyed about any pausing in the music at all. the benefit of pausing and then do a small rewind of like 5 or 10 seconds, is that you don't accidentally ruin the experience of a really cool part that you might overlook due to pausing at that exact moment. i've seen reactors accidentally pause in some of the best parts of the song that people specifically come to watch them get mindblown over, and then totally miss it. :-)

Unlike a lot of the others, this has never been one of my favorites. A lot of the 80s bands were just full of too much loud screaming for me. I like to hear the lyrics. Bad music? Absolutely not! Just not normally what I enjoyed.
However… This has transformed the song for me. Some viewers have complained that it was too restrained, but I thought it was phenomenal. I loved the poignancy of the way they treated this. And I am glad they did that iconic “dream on” up in the stratosphere that paid honor to the original while still making at their own. But for the first time since that came out I actually listened carefully to the lyrics and as a result I’m gonna go back and check out the Aerosmith version - maybe my tastes have changed. VP is a powerful thing!
And don’t worry about the pausing - you always have something good to say. I did have to laugh at the end when you put on your little pouty face. What it do Dave had exactly the same expression on his face when it got to the end.😫
