I agree, holy crap. An amazing cover. I've listened to some of the other covers of this (hadn't heard it before VP performed it) and while there are some other versions I like, to me VP just killed it. Beautiful song. Thanks for the reaction!!
Whiskey in the Jar is a song about a notorious Irish highwayman Patrick Fleming who was hanged in 1650, has become one of Ireland’s most beloved songs, a true rebel air that stirs the passions. This song has been covered by Thin Lizzi and Metallica and many others. This is so beautiful. When it came out on Patreon, I had to some research on it, but I love how they made it their own and still showed respect for the original.
My husband watched this being a fan of the song but not acapella and he loved it. He said they did this song justice more than he was expecting. Its absolutely brilliant
And that's why I watch yours to the very end.... Voiceplay is just the very best, really. It takes me at least 7 times to figure their stuff out. Once to hear everything, once for each of them, and then finally another listen to see if I can catch it all. Great reaction!
Thanks for the reaction, Pappy! What draws me in on this one and keeps me watching is the harmonies and the interplay of all the voices. I focus on different voice lines and hear something different each time, but somehow, the whole is always more than the sum of the individual parts - and then I have to listen to it again.
I heard it by the Dubliners back in 1967 was only 13. Tin Lizzy did it in 1973 I was 19 by then. I have also heard The Irish Rovers cover that's really good.
English is hard. So I understand. I'm glad you left it in it makes intro funny and feel more real. Ya I think that Eli was given his part and told to have fun with it. This was such a great reaction. Ya trying to keep track of all five of their voices when they are all doing something different is a challenge but it really lets them all have a bit of fun with the what they do best. Looking forward to what you get up to next have fun and stay positive.
Brilliant reaction. Love the honest raw reactions. This arrangement of this was brilliant. It has been anything from Irish folk to metal with the likes of the Dubliners through thin Lizzy to Metallica. And this brings it to today.
why are they ripping your head apart? because they’re Voiceplay what else do you need to know. 😄 they always bring something different to any arrangement they do I love this one! ❤🏴
Geoff: what do you wanna do?
Eli: Yes
🥃in the VP jar is always on 🔥. Thanks for the reaction! I am hoping their concert with Chicago goes really well... 🤞.

It's an old Irish tune from the 1600s. Oh and Geoff had an F1 sustained chest.
You are adorable Pappy D...I love watching your reactions. Thank you for another great reaction to Voice Play ❤
Love your reactions to my favorite guys!

So, being curious, I looked it up, and apparently "Whack" means to take a drink or a shot.
The singer is asking for a shot of whiskey to keep singing.
@@susanfulbright4898 Ah, I see.
I wasn't familiar with this song but know that now VoicePlay has ruined any other version that I may ever hear from now on!
