same hardware give or take with a 3700x...yeah, 5fps boost..

It's not that negligible... Take a good look at the numbers. There are parts of the game where they make a difference. Furthermore, at this level, any increase, even if it is just one FPs, is always very welcome, especially when it results from a free driver update.
