I think Rapala/VMC have really stepped up their game in the past 2 years. I was used to the same lure from 1989 being at Bass Pro Shops in 2022.I have never had luck with the jerkbait what rod and action are you using?
Love that twitching action you do with them jerkbaits . I have got a few different colours and sizes. Mainly smaller ones for trout and perch. Would that action from the rod tip still work from the bank as I don’t have a boat.? I’m not the most experienced of Anglers but just thought I would ask the experts. Much appreciated and all the best. 👍😁🎣
Yes, it should work from the bank as well. With a smaller jerkbait for trout or perch you may not need to jerk your rod as hard to get good action out of the bait.

Set up a lighter spinning rod so you can throw floating jerkbaits. Fishing from the bank, you want jerkbaits and cranks to be able to float should you start getting into weeds and slop as you get shallower and shallower. Piers and deep holes, you should be able to throw suspending baits just fine.
