My mom tried making chilaquiles for the first time for breakfast bc my dad was craving them and she burnt them, they tasted to bad but we still ate them
@Vladimir Преображенский It is very different because the Koreans were already civilized, the Spanish invasion was not an invasion at all, the Spanish simply colonized the land and then the Native Americans annexed this civilization, practically when the Spanish colonists became independent from the kingdom there were still 3 million of free natives, who joined the Mexican civilization and multiculturalism began take philipines as an example, they joined the spanish civilization but they use the same lenguages and theyr names are strange like mixed, they are no single white philipines like us, as i know

I just want everyone to be aware that the guy who made "chilaquiles" actually just made a plate of nachos. Chilaquiles are covered in sauce, and you have to use freshly fried tortillas. If you use tortilla chips you buy at the store, which this guy clearly used, your chips are going to instantly turn to mush.
2 things, in korea is difficult to find tortillerias, second tortilla chips quality is a big difference, example I get the organic ones due to my body after cancer, my family now use them since they last longer without mushing or going bad while bagged, the flavor is more "Great Grandma" taste and they are not oily. That is why totopo quality varies from tostilocos to nachos to chilaquiles to seafood to botanero. :)
@@KiryuSeiran I'm not saying you need authentic, fresh-made tortillas that you can only get at a tortilleria. You can use common corn tortillas that you would find at popular grocery stores. Any store-bought, packaged corn tortilla that you cut up into triangles and fry yourself would be better than tortilla chips. Also, even if he had used freshly fried tortilla chips, he still didn't cover them in sauce; which is what you do with chilaquiles.
I think it was a mistake to get someone who lived on "the other side" cause you get this type of "what the fuck are you doing?" kind of moments lol, chilaquiles are delicious and nachos are too, but they're very different.
@@KiryuSeiran the problem was that the technique for the chilaquiles was completely wrong, the chips that he used was the smallest of the problems. Imagine I make chilaquiles with store bought totopos like he did in the video, they might be a 90%, pretty good as ong as I prepare them correctly, make a salsa, dunk the chips, add the toppings... however if I make my own fresh fried corn pieces and prepare them like he did in the video, those would be 15% chilaquiles, pretty bad... or pretty good nachos, but completely different
I’m CHICANA (Mexican American) I love that these two cultures are coming together thought food. I love that they are speaking together in there native languages. 🇲🇽🇰🇷
I'm so glad she said, "Taco Bell isn't Mexican food." My non- Hispanic friends always say "I ate Mexican food yesterday." and then continue to tell me what crunchy taco they ate at taco bell.
For anyone interested in the history of tacos😊... Let’s jump back to the origin of tacos. This amazing dish is a historical symbol of Mexican culture and it’s gastronomy. A taco is based on a corn or wheat tortilla with a wonderful variety of fillings. It's unknown the origin of tacos, but it is believed they were created in Mexico. The word taco comes from the náhuatl ‘tlahco’ which means “half or in the middle'', referring to the shape of the taco. In the 1800, hispanic females would send men who would work on the fields, food wrapped in a tortilla. It wasn't until 1908, Morelos Mexico brought emergence in the famous Taco acorazados: tortilla, a bedding of rice, and finally the topping. In 1950 Tlaxcala Mexico brought the iconic ‘tacos de canasta’, people carrying a basket full of tacos would go out to the streets and sell. From there on, many varieties of tacos exist like: beef, pork, chicken, seafood, vegetables, cheese, and many more. Comment your favorite dish and it's history! Thank you for reading🥰
@Captain Howdy because this video is focused solely on Mexicans and Koreans. It has no mention of Trump so I'm not sure why you feel it should be mentioned.
Maybe they don’t like football? Things like that would never come up in conversations I have, just because I wouldn’t think about it so it wouldn’t occur to me to talk about it!
Guys, almost everyone outside an english-speaking country speaks english, when they have a second-language, because a lot of people do speak it and it makes it easier to communicate online. then there are people who are interested in yet another language besides their own and english :v welcome to the world
I was surprised to see so many people saying how uncommon it was to see a multilingual, but at least in Mexico (or just the North) most schools teach english as a mandatory subject, and some of them even teach english and another language. Guess it is not like that in english-speaking countries, as you said.
I think it’s impressive to see Koreans speaking Spanish, Mexicans speaking Korean because they are geographically so far away and not similar languages at all. I think it’s just something really cool that jumps out about the video, that they can connect so fluently
I think Mexican food will become more and more famous in Korea although it's still famous. Hot pot, wasabi, and sriracha are sweeping once in a while, so it's about time for Mexican food to deserve. ㅋㅋㅋ
I love how everyone is able to communicate in a language that is not theirs or can speak the other persons language that they are with. It normalizes talking to someone in their language and seems to be less embarrassing as i thought. Makes me want to learn more languages!
I’m not even paying attention to the actual topic of the video but the fact that essentially everyone featured is multilingual. I don’t follow this channel so I’m not sure if it’s a normal thing to have on the channel or if multilingual/trilingual people are more common in Asia as to the States. Really makes me want to pick up a third language.
@@sosasoseante8757 late af but I just got a notification for this comment. But yeah Spanish. More so at a heritage level. So I get how the language and culture around it works. My vocabulary just sucks since I only speak it around my mom and haven’t seen my relatives in Mexico since 2017. I recently picked up Japanese and Korean though. Japanese primarily due to growing up hearing it a lot from the anime my mom and siblings would show me since I was a toddler. Korean because I’ve recently befriended a Korean and figured I wouldn’t let the chance pass on knowing a native speaker.
When I was in Mexico visiting family, one thing for sure every morning had to be there. Coffee and some bread, there I am with a concha bread. One breakfast also, well I had this a lot, is eggs with spicy salsa and some tortillas and queso fresco. I like watching these types of videos. Seeing what other people thing of other food.
My aunt would make us huevos refritos con frijoles fritos machucados, salsa de molcajete, queso cotija and tortillas recien hechas 😋😋😋😋 it was sooooo good!
@@vickyslams6666 Ingredients has nothing to do with that. The difference between nachos and chilaquiles is that nachos are hard and crunchy, and the latter are cooked in a sauce until they're soggy.
I'm loving that they are interchanging languages so easily and talking comfortably. I think that's it's absolutely beautiful to speak or understand another language so that you can communicate and share things with more people.
te das cuenta por como pronuncia el nombre de México como si fuera de estados unidos 😅 no quiero ser negativo pero siempre escogen a ciertas personas que no representan tan bien al país.
Being from Texas, I can vouch that we eat a lot of similar foods to Northern Mexico. Even those of us who aren’t Mexican (I’m Black) can cook quite a few traditional dishes and a lot of what we call “Tex Mex”. I always find it funny when my friends and I eat at Asian restaurants and they warn us about the food being spicy, but it’s always mild or medium. My family cooks mainly creole, Cajun and soul food, so I would eat raw and pickled peppers as a snack growing up. Lol.
I'm from Texas too, I grew up eating spicy food from my parents and when we used to go to Mexico to visit family. My girlfriend right now is Indian and she and her friends are always amazed when I can handle their spicy food at restaurants when they can't.
I've never seen a channel or video like this before. Koreans speaking spanish, Mexicans speaking Korean. A beautiful blending of cultures. Really amazing stuff
Amando el hecho de que dijera"solo porque soy mexicana no significa que no me enchile, solo que me gusta" jajajaja totalmente de acuerdo, is like I still suffer but I do it on prupose
The pair with the Mexican woman and Korean man who started speaking Spanish but didn't quite understand English really wowed me. How awesome that English isn't the common language. ✨
I don't understand why people take offense on the "belly comment" I'm Mexican, overweight and I'm also a cook and i enjoy cooking and eating way more than exercising and so does most of the people i know, we use a lot of fat in our traditional dishes so it's a given, our food is amazing, the variety and cheer amount of styles in a single dish (like tacos) is ridiculous, just enjoy and embrace who you're, we love eating good food. If you dislike being called fat the just stay in shape, and if you do comments like those shouldn't affect you, since they're not directed at you.
The problem is that it's 2020 and everyone gets offended out of the most random bullshit while jumping through all the hoops to justify its racist or bigoted just to cancel you.

@Vladimir Преображенский It is very different because the Koreans were already civilized, the Spanish invasion was not an invasion at all, the Spanish simply colonized the land and then the Native Americans annexed this civilization, practically when the Spanish colonists became independent from the kingdom there were still 3 million of free natives, who joined the Mexican civilization and multiculturalism began
take philipines as an example, they joined the spanish civilization but they use the same lenguages and theyr names are strange like mixed, they are no single white philipines like us, as i know

I feel like every couple in this video could star in a k drama and I would be hooked
They are beautiful people.
Nice to see that there are Mexicans in South Korea and that other Koreans learn a bit of our culture :)
I think Mexican food will become more and more famous in Korea although it's still famous.
Hot pot, wasabi, and sriracha are sweeping once in a while, so it's about time for Mexican food to deserve. ㅋㅋㅋ

El: La comida Mexicana es muy buena se nos nota en la panza.

The Mexican dishes in this videos didn’t do the actual food justice imo.

they don’t have access to certain ingredients :) they tried their best w what they have
@@vickyslams6666 Ingredients has nothing to do with that. The difference between nachos and chilaquiles is that nachos are hard and crunchy, and the latter are cooked in a sauce until they're soggy.
They're more like the American version of Chilaquiles which I tried but they're not nearly as good as the ones my mom and I make.
he didn't let the fried tortilla soak in his sauce but I'm guessing it was intentional on his part since it's probably how he grew up with it

Lol.
Tex Mex and actual Mexican food is very different
I'm from Texas too, I grew up eating spicy food from my parents and when we used to go to Mexico to visit family. My girlfriend right now is Indian and she and her friends are always amazed when I can handle their spicy food at restaurants when they can't.
