    Oh Maannn, boy I know about car fires. Lost my Vette waiting for the Fire department. Plastic cars burn Fast. Right after the body shop work, I'll never forget the smell of burnt fiberglass. I have other interest besides Foxes & Foxes. lol It seems when you get past 4 items that still need TLC things start to get Over Whelming & loss of motivation. That's how Life goes & you gotta "Keep pushin' On."

    It’s a blessing and a curse. Something always needs repair, but when it’s garage cleaning day and my yard is filled with foxes/older mustangs it always puts a smile on my face.

    i live in the rust belt, so it helps when rust prevents me from loosening a fastener to hose it down with penetrant and move on to the next project. but when you own many registered vehicles, you're just constantly deciding which has the most gas versus makes the least noise when you grab the keys. you chase problems and eventually i avoid buying "new" ones by spending that money i don't have to work on what I still have.
    when you no longer can store another vehicle in a way it won't rust by the time you get to it, you've hit your limit.

    I have 1 Fox and not enough time for it. I’d love to have 1 or 2 more though lol. Finding them, acquiring and just having is also fun. Seems to me that you enjoy that entire process. Which I would too. But they are not going anywhere. You’ll get to each one when you can. I admire your collection and think it is great for your channel. I never know what I’m going to be looking at because of your many cars and the many cars you pick up. Much much better than looking at the same 1 or 2 cars that the normal guy has for his channel. Between the cars you have, the cars you pick up and the DYI videos you have one of the best channels out there, if not the best!

    I put a limit on myself and try to keep it. I couldn’t imagine trying to own that many cars by the costs alone. Insurance, fluids, maintenance, putting plates on them, and repairs. I get the thrill of the hunt to find certain cars or the desire to have variety. At some point it gets overwhelming though and gets out of hand and you’re doing yourself a disservice.
    You’re obviously successful at what you’re doing right now. I’m not sure if you have another full time job or if RUclips and rebuilding these cars is now your full time thing. Sounds like you could make fox restoration a career too. Have you ever thought about building a car such as your Cali coupe for the soul reason of selling? Do what you do now with the content you create while making a video of the progress. Then sell the project. Do a few of those a year and depending on the market/price point you could make a decent living what you already do.

    The most successful car guys I know really know themselves. For example, I know dudes that don’t do body work, they could build a car and it would stay in primer forever…so they buy clean chassis’s and stick to drivetrain work. Another guy I know is a perfectionist and he doesn’t start a project until he’s sold the prior car. I think two cars would be analysis paralysis for him.
    Another thing that seems to help is to find a niche and stick to those cars…like you do with fox bodies. You learn the tricks, know the parts, accumulate parts. It just makes things way easier. You’ll probably spend 10x the time on that Lincoln than a similar foxbody project.

    Damn Chris i have a hard figuring on how many cars you have in your main shop space, i could not imagine trying
    to keep up with so many awesome looking vehicles is well beyond me. You have a great collection,
    You have a lot of motivation in what you do.

    I usually have a few fox bodies at any given moment. I really do try to stay away from project cars now. Just keeping the drivers going is project enough for me.

    If I just had one project nothing would get done. I have 8 foxbodies and get burnt out on a car many times and will jump to the next and it helps with my motivation. Sometimes no matter how much you like a car you will always get burnt out working on it. Really liked your take on having many projects.

    You can either hire someone to help as a shop assistant, or just downsize to half the cars. That's a very large collection for anyone. Not sure what the purpose is of having so many cars. Are you trying to make money, or holding them just to have.

  • @trbstang
    @trbstang 2 года назад

    Having a lot of cars is work! Lol! Personally, 5 or 6 would be a good number for me since I have just enough garage room if I remove a wall in my garage. My 87 LX hatch, my 16 GT, a 65 fastback restomod (Revology?), a 93 Cobra, a S550 GT-350, and something new for a "daily" like an Explorer ST or a Maverick ST if they build one. But first I need that lottery win to buy them!

    Amazing collection. Always enjoy your videos. You’ve got more than most can handle but you manage and I enjoy watching. You’ve got even more out back of the shop in Texas. Yeah parts cars and what not. The Godzilla swap F1 back there. I’ve seen a square body Chevy in the background. Where’s project come and take it? You didn’t mention it and I didn’t see it there.

    Owning to many cars is like putting to much makeup on a supermodel, you end up with a clown. 🤡 it just becomes lame and boring to have so much. Not trying to offend but to much of anything isn’t good for anyone.
