Remarkable how close Ohio and Iowa were. Nowadays we tend to think of them as likely Red states. Even if Trump loses the election later this year, I think Ohio and Iowa will be called very early for him.

@@Charles-ik6ip Yes, but much like Iowa, Obama didn't win it by a big margin and Republicans won gubernatorial races in these states two years ago even in an otherwise very bad year for them. On the other hand, Obama didn't come close to winning Arizona and it's now a swing state. Things have changed a lot in these past ten years.

@@Charles-ik6ip The most impressive case of all, however, is West Virginia. It was one of only 10 states that voted for Dukakis over George H.W Bush and Democrats won it by a bigger margin than New York. Now it's one of the most Republican states in the nation thanks to their anti-coal rhetoric and going further left on environmentalism. Missouri also used to be a swing state and Republicans now win it by 20%.

This was the first election I could vote in. I grew up in Boston but thankfully my family didn’t raise me to be a democrat! I knew I was going to be voting for President Bush and I subsequently joined the military the following year as soon as I graduated high school (no I was not held back by the school my parents decided to wait a year and send me to school when I was 6 instead of 5) I served for 7 years including two tours in combat AOR’s before I was forced out via a medical discharge with a 70% VA rating. I now have a 100% VA disability rating and at 36 years old I move around worse then someone who’s twice as old!! I don’t regret serving my country and I don’t even regret voting for Bush the second time because Kerry would’ve done what democrats have ALWAYS DONE which is make a BAD SITUATION A THOUSAND TIMES WORSE! Unfortunately bush revealed himself to be a RINO (Republican In Name Only) and Kerry has since revealed himself to be what 90% of the left has become…. Anti-American COMMUNISTS!!!
