    Practicals are 15% of your exam grade, this could be the difference between a grade 4 and a grade 5 or the difference between grade 7 and grade 9. There isn’t a large amount of content but there are a lot of skills that can be tested, to help you with this I’ve made videos of all the practical and written a workbook full or exam style questions.
    AQA students can buy the book from Amazon (links below) students sitting other exam boards can get a free ‘top up’ ebook from my website www.primrosekitten.com/collec...

    I want to help you achieve the grades you (and I) know you are capable of; these grades are the stepping stone to your future. Even if you don't want to study science or maths further, the grades you get now will open doors in the future.

    The 'whole of the topic in … minutes' videos DO NOT comprehensively cover everything you need to know for your exams. It would be impossible to include 2 years of teaching in 1 hour. These should NOT be your only source of revision • Do the 'whole topic in... My exam predictions are just GUESSES!! I don't have any insider knowledge just years of looking at exam papers.
    Disclaimer; You should not carry out any of these practical’s without carrying out a full risk assessment of your own first.

    This was helpful, thank you! In class today I happened to ask my science teacher to go over this specific page in the revision guide (as we are going over C2) but he didn't get to it, so this was perfect timing!

    Urgent question! Why is hydrogen attracted to the cathode instead of sodium? Is it something to do with their reactivity?

      @Primrose_Kitten  7 лет назад +1

      +Lucie Hulin yes, it's the reactivity

      Science and Maths by Primrose Kitten is it because sodium is more reactive therefore hydrogen is discharged?

    Why are there more Hydrogen gas bubbles released than chlorine ?
    Is it because there's just a larger volume of water and so more hydrogen particles forming? Whilst there's less chlorine, i. e solution is quite dilute. Or is it something to do with Hydrogen's density or lower solubility in water?
    Or even molar ratio, with H2O meaning molar ratio of 2:1 between hydrogen and chlorine in the solution , but we're taught that it dissociates into OH- and H+ meaning the molar ratio wouldnt occur?

    What do you get if you change both electrodes to iron?

    My question is how do you know that the hydrogen will form at the cathode? Is it always going to be the fact that as long as the metal is more reactive then hydrogen, hydrogen is produced at the cathode? Else, less reactive then hydrogen, the metal will form at the cathode?
