The early geodetic planes by barnes wallace didnt have bombay cutouts because they were afraid itd weaken the overall fuselage structure, the wellington later fixed this problem via a heavy metal " collar" around the bombay to support the strength of the missing area of geodetic structure.

I'd recommend if the decals are opaque on the carrier film to leave them in direct sunlight for a week (I use modeling tape and attach them to the window). Great video though and keep modeling!

Well that's one of the most remarkable bits of advice I've ever had... thank you so much. I'd better get another old model so I can give it a go.

These really do evoke a now distant era. Just the box art and the graphic design are amazing.

Bleaching decals of age old kits takes a long time in the sunshine, trust me. 70's and 80's decals take a year of sunshine over here. In Mid Western Europe. When in a hurry you can always buy a Nail Polish Dryer Machine. You don't need a real fortune and it will do the work overnight. If you can afford the electricity. 😜 It's also a good argument when the missus is a nail fetishist. Or when you are. It takes all kinds nowadays. The sun is free, of course, but it has its own peculiar way of timing. And it's not alone. There's clouds. Sometimes for longer periods. You know the drill, get away from your workbench and look outside, it's a marvel. Or tune in with your local weatherman/woman, you'll see: I'm not lying.

this is my bomber of choice to support my ground troops when wargaming against those 'eyeties'. on its first apperance all the surrounding players held their breath; they were afraid, very afraid! since then it has bombed succssfuly straffed targets with its single mg (it only needs one) and shot down fiat interception aircraft, every sortie; home in time for tea and sandwiches.

Nice bit of creative writing. You should chronicle your adventures and publish them.
Anyway, you can't beat a Welly ! Cheers. MM.

If you have anything else that was used by bomber command then you could join the bomber command buddy build group on facebook😁

I'll have to try that some time. As it is I'm still working through the back log of films I've mounted up, I'm over a year behind. Cheers.
