I can't believe what this crew did to get a gilded athena. What they did was so wrong and thusly earned the title of WORST kinda PIRATE! They BROKE the PIRATE CODE and we went out of our way to make sure the seas were restored.

For the record, yes this is crew griefing and yes you can get in trouble by doing it. You do not steal from an lfg crew. The crew bond is sacred.

Considering that people have been banned for griefing by just sitting at spawnpoints and killing people without reason they should definetly be banned

Totally blown away by the behavior of some ppl. Well done master Hitbo for keeping the seas a little less toxic. Can't believe those guys did that. As a father, I thank you for helping that kid hitbo. Reminds me of the time my kid was messing around on an outpost pretending to be a pirate and digging up worms, another crew rolls in and I say over game chat that it's my 8 year old, he won't touch him. And they just killed him, they could hear him screaming and crying but they just spawn camped him till I took over from my son and destroyed them. Some people don't deserve to play with others
"That's not Sea of Thieves" I'm glad you said that. The point of Sea of Thieves is to use game mechanics to pretend to be a pirate in a game. Using the LFG/Discord system to actually steal a game mechanic from another player? That's not Sea of Thieves, indeed.

@@disabledveteran1419 Idk, it's scummy but clever. Hard to take a side on this one way or the other. I wouldn't do what they did, but it's hard to fault them for doing actual pirate shit in a pirate game, but I do feel bad for the kid who got brigged. Nothing's fair, man.
When HitboTC used exploits to launch his boat away from a fight is that using game mechanics no that's using exploits
@@diaBTAS It's not hard. Is the piracy in game? If so, cool. If not, don't. Super easy. Don't pretend otherwise.
I'm glad they redeemed themselves, but they didn't deserve an Obsidian 6 Pack for what they did. If anything, the kid and the other sloop crew did. Glad this ended the right way though.
Disputes are settled on the waves. Abusing lfg and essentially kicking someone from their own session is completely separate from normal gameplay. Literally the scummiest thing I've ever seen in SoT. Those guys deserve a full-on ban for that, regardless of how it turned out.
i agree...i usually dont like people getting banned because it thins out the player base but this would be the equivalent of scraping gum of the bottom of tables.

Understand... I DO NOT watch youtube. But I DO play SOT. Not only have you changed my mind about frequently using RUclips for more than just how-to's, but in an increasingly nutty world as a dad of 4 with kids about the age of "Jumping", to see you take THIS much time and effort to be a HUMAN to a kid you had no other reason to help.... It gives me hope that chivalry and random acts of kindness are still a measure of HIGH CLASS my good man. High class indeed.. You now have a true fan, not just of your content, but of your character. @@HoesLoveCoCo For the week or two around Christmas, you can get one gilded voyage from Larianna for your trading company of choice. You can only redeem one per year, and can only have one in your quest inventory so you cant hold multiple over the course of several years. When you choose to actually put it down is up to you.

It is. Rare get final say on banning people from their game, and this would absolutely qualify from what I know of them. The fact this incident was turned around by Hitbotc may save them. We'll see.
I have personally had an encounter with this shooter fellow, he is indeed the culprit. I've witnessed first hand at what he was trying to accomplish. He targets younger crowds and or newer pirate legends. My crew is experienced so we didn't fall for it. 100% sketch ball. You are a legend sir, thank you for doing this.
If you did not know, Hitbo actually gave them a 6-pack to bribe them but did not even put it in the video because of his proudness I guess. *He is still a great content creator* but he just gave them something a lot rarer than a gilded athena.

There needs to be a way that when you spawn in you are tied to the ship as the captain so to speak and can't be thrown in the brig of your own ship. If I start a session and later decide to open or invite people I think I should not be able to be thrown in the brig because I am the one that has more to lose than someone that just joined in.
Yeah, the crew management in SoT leaves a lot to be desired. The Xbox party system and lfg doesnt help either. Honestly the quest should probably just disappear if the person who originally put it down leaves the session. That would fix situations both like this, as well as just general boosting and cheesing the system.
@@merylsmith5305 Yes but if people with bad wifi host they're more likely to get their quest abandoned if that's the case, it could undo a good hour of work.
@@vec1954 make it to where the original quest holder can cancel/pick it up at any time including while in the brig causing any and all loot gained to either despawn or they add a checkpoint system to all quests
Or whoever placed the voyage can either cancel the voyage in his pause menu while also not being able to be brigged.
Mutiny is one of the ultimate Pirate tropes. Making it impossible for the captain to be brigged would make the game objectively worse as a pirate simulation.

Sandwiches are defined by food being put between two pieces of bread. So a rolled up tortilla can't be a sandwich. A hotdog, however, is a sandwich, assuming the bun was cut all the way in half.

Are they only considered sandwiches because of their contents? Personally, I don't think the bun has to be sliced all the way through. I think the stuff in between the buns (along with the bun itself) makes a sandwich a sandwich.

It looks like you left out the part where they were in your chat saying they didn't want to get banned so they would do what you said. And then you offered them Obsidian 6 Pack codes in exchange for the Athena chests and they agreed. They didn't deserve those codes, accepting a bribe is not a redemption arc.
to negotiate you have to have leverage. I wanted this kid to get his chests back. That was my priority. So I used what I had to do it.

Funny seeing someone liked this just recently because I just had someone just gave me there gilded and they weren’t even part of my crew they just offered it to me and just put it on my quest table
I know this video was a year ago. But we have a major problem with newer pirate legends stealing veil stones. Now it's one thing to steal treasure but veils are a terrible grind and if you read please voice it.

I love you Hitbo but this should have ended with a ban, not a 6pack, they clearly are not remorseful for what they did and it shows. They may not have gotten the Athena but you have essentially rewarded them for their terrible behaviour with something rarer

I join an open crew not to long ago and a minute after I joined they locked me in the brig and told me to leave, they didn't want me there and I was useless so I just sat there, they got mad that I didn't leave and I wasted their time a bit, best way to get them is wasting their time and gettin them mad😂
