I agree Ian. There are way too many companies sitting around , not actually doing anything, but making bucketloads off the back of the men and women who are actually doing all the hard work. You started the company, and brought it to where it is. Even though you don’t do so much of the physical work now, you’ve certainly earned the right to reap the rewards of all that effort.
The only one of those I've found useful is a pest control industry magazine that also runs insurance and lawyers off the cover cost of the free magazine and advertising. Only marginally duplicitous since State of Florida runs a single-payer arbitration system in the first place.
This is why your channel is so popular because you show all the mundane day to day task's and tell the home truth's, so we know its not all glamourous and pretty, but it's still interesting viewing, and educational.. Keep up the good fight..
I, for one, like the daily insight into your world. You have your tree work, your little farm and your home life. It's great to see all sides of the coin Ian.
But Ian, not a lot is good 😃Doesn't matter what the content is, it gives us an insight into what happens day to day. As for what you can break tomorrow, nothing hopefully lol 😅 as for collection of wood for shredding, would they then bring the chippings back so you can use it for bedding etc. Take care all and the very best to Mrs P.
Well said Ian, ticking boxes and shuffling paper does not make us better at the job, in fact, it stops us doing the work we need to be doing. Take care.
Eeek you said a naughty word 😂 Green Waste a metal detector user nightmare 😡 Some farmers spread it over there fields. Chopped up pieces of metal fragments. All the best to Mrs Pullen.
Good evening Mr. P. I suppose the good news is it was the shear bolt which you might have weakened when you started it up with the grab in it. I agree with you about all these companies talking your hard earned money for basically doing nothing but giving you a piece of paper and a sticker. Hope Mrs.P. Is still getting on ok. Keep well and stay safe.
Ian another item you must consider with your decision on the shredder is how clean other people's green waste is. In another video you mentioned the service you're providing to landscapers etc. But if they're abusing the system and costing you money with downtime and repairs, maybe stopping others tipping and having your green waste taken away is a better option. Do check what's sheared the bolt before restarting and maybe the finding will help make up your mind. Having worked abroad I did not have current tickets to work in the UK's tunnel industry and when I took up a post on the new Crossrail project in London. It took nearly three months to get signed off with London Underground, British Rail, Tunnel safety and confined space working etc. The later used my brother as an incident in decompression sickness and they got that all wrong. I knew being the Senior Inspector on that project. The instructor was a bit red faced when I put him right. You site has been hit with the "Congratulations you've won a prize." Please tell your watcher not to fall for the scam.
OMG Ian - you are SO spot on in terms of your earning an honest living!!! I work in IT and you would NOT believe how certain companies rip off their customers because quite frankly, they don't know any better. I could write a book!!! The company I work for was recently quoted £10K for a piece of work. but after some testing and sussing it all out, we got it down to £1900!!!!!
hello from the Netherlands . luckily it's just a shear bolt and not the chain again . you are right Ian about those companies that actually add NOTHING to life at all but add a lot of Costs. actually the government should prohibit such companies from existing because they do not provide any services or anything. actually it's just a form of old fashioned scam thanks for the video Ian . Sincerely Hollandduck
You could also use an Eliet shredder to blow straw XD Certain your local guy has something you're more used to. If I can say I think having a crane claw for Doosan in addition to whatever grinder you look at is probably a VERY good idea.
Total agree with you on the accreditation’s rubbish, doesn’t help when NPTC started doing it as well 😒. And yes I know of all singing and dancing paperwork companies that aren’t all that.
have just seen your post on facebook. all that out of date stuff lol any excuse!! but in about your shredder...we could all think about the logic of if the machinery is earning its keep. we could apply this logic to many issues in this world right now and I am sure it would work!!!!
Dear Farmer P. What happened to the quality of this video? It's not up to your usual standard of 1080P (it is actually 480P) and is a bit difficult to handle visually. Sound also seems to be a little "hairy". 😎
with the shredder thing is it worth carrying on with if theres no income just someone else have it might lower the insurance with less plublic acccsess and not to mention got other things going on that take up time
Ah your not wrong there Mr P I reckon I’ve put thousands in the pockets of people that didn’t do very much other then give me a piece of paper to tell me what I already knew, that I know what I’m doing because I was apprenticed and told the right way of things 40 years ago, I had a boy in an office not long ago told me I couldn’t work for them because I had shorts on, didn’t care if I could do the job or not, great world we live in ah. Lol😢
Another ther great video has always farmer p ian and Mrs p Sam emma Abbi and holli and miss biskit miss crumble miss gypsy miss pepper and miss pickle 👍
it doesn't matter how many H & S accreditations you have as a company or a sole trader because at the end of the day it relies on you as the worker and that is usually down to common sense , you can train all you like and tick all the boxes but it doesn't mean your safe , like an MOT it doesn't guarantee anything
Would doing sums on repricing charges. Still undercutting competition (Council Authority) who will be most probably be increasing theirs. Prices of most everything will be going up. Do you just sell on compost material or would making and bagging your own actual peat free compost be too time and space consuming.
What does a professional or certifying company do for me? Are they respected/recognized by government authority having jurisdiction? Is my insurance recognizing that and lowering my premiums? If so how much? Will my employees benefit with included training and who enforces afterwards? Or, is it bragging rights and a sales tool? The pressure to join comes when nearly everyone else you compete with has it and you are left out. My opinion.
Evening farmer p mum p abbi holli emma sam bisskit and ur other dogs Good vlog again Hows mum p today? Please give mum p my love when u c her next Love u guys💙❤️💜
Couldn't agree with you more Ian. Personally I think they are just pariahs. One of my main client's changed their policy last year which resulted in me having to do exactly as you have just described. When I discovered what the real driver was behind it all, it transpired it was intended to be an Admin Saver for my client that has cost probably 500 Vendors something like £600 each. Appalling but what do you do?
do you think it got weakend by that little mishap when you first started it up with the grab ?. but i am curious ian, are there an smaller machines out there, take less space, but able to handle the work you do with it?. maybe a 3 point mount one, seems a hellish big machine for the job it does
for the age of the machine and the use you get out of it, id keep it, you know what will happen, you get rid of it and then you get sh!t ton of work for it and wished you'd kept it... id give it a good maintenance day and get it checked over and any repairs done and keep using it.
Maybe some of the stuff you shred branches to hard (ard)😜 just a thought I know nothing Registers yourself as a health and safety inspector you know your stuff ✔️ your own box in the end it’s common sense 🚜🏴👍
as for insurance its better to have it and not need it, than have a lawsuit against you for failure to ensure health and safety on the worksite, paying anything up to millions...
All ways someone after your ££ to make you get more ££ hard graft and word of mouth goes a long way and repeat customer look after your customers and they will return

A very good Saturday evening to you sir
Love a rant! You're not wrong.
I, for one, like the daily insight into your world. You have your tree work, your little farm and your home life. It's great to see all sides of the coin Ian.
I'm with you Ian,nothing wrong with Health & Safety etc but why private companies should make a profit from it is beyond me.
Thanks for sharing your vid with us

Better a shear bolt than a knacked PTO shaft.👍
True.
Great video 👌
I so agree Ian 👍 👏.
Cheers Ian, I’m with you on this!
ian if the shear bolt keeps failing make sure the new on is to the correct tensile strength for the machine
Great update -agree totally mr. P. 👍👍👍
hello from the Netherlands .
luckily it's just a shear bolt and not the chain again .
you are right Ian about those companies that actually add NOTHING to life at all but add a lot of Costs.
actually the government should prohibit such companies from existing because they do not provide any services or anything.
actually it's just a form of old fashioned scam
thanks for the video Ian .
Sincerely Hollandduck
Hi lan, you could always hire in a mulching machine with a convayer, loading it yourself with your skid steer for a reasonable hire cost. Stephen.
It could be possible to put a PTO shaft with a sherpin on it might be an simple solution for the future
You could also use an Eliet shredder to blow straw XD Certain your local guy has something you're more used to. If I can say I think having a crane claw for Doosan in addition to whatever grinder you look at is probably a VERY good idea.
Ian you always know whats right I'd say with the amount off brush coming in I'd say invest in a new 1
You’re 100% right in what you are saying
Great update - agree totally!
Evening ian, great content again cheers 😄
Could the shear bolt have half broken when the chain broke?? I carnt remember if you changed the bolt when you did the chain. Great video.
Total agree with you on the accreditation’s rubbish, doesn’t help when NPTC started doing it as well 😒. And yes I know of all singing and dancing paperwork companies that aren’t all that.

Fair play to you Ian , it had to be said
Always big fan of your videos. Not sure if you noticed, but this video is only showing up for me in 480p.
No idea why, its uploaded in 1080 HD ?
Dear Farmer P. What happened to the quality of this video? It's not up to your usual standard of 1080P (it is actually 480P) and is a bit difficult to handle visually. Sound also seems to be a little "hairy". 😎
Hi Ian I agree with you 100% mate It's all a bloody RIP OFF I stopped paying out years ago and still got the work.
9:41 great content again
Hi Mr P
Personal I keep completing on site as it just paperwork take it else were. Plus you could take smaller company green waste to off set the cost
Is it possible the shear bolt got weakened when you turned it on with the grab in there ?
with the shredder thing is it worth carrying on with if theres no income just someone else have it might lower the insurance with less plublic acccsess and not to mention got other things going on that take up time

An MOT is only good for the day it was issued, after that the tester does not know what's happened to the vehicle.

How much is a bag of logs Ian?
£120. But we are only selling to regulars now stocks are getting low.
Hi mate farmer p

There are smaller versions of the Zago.

How come its only in 480p, ?????
No Idea, I upload in HD
@@FarmerP OH OK, Normaly see it in 1080p, mmm mystery there.,...
I agree so many earning off of everyone else
Put the extra cost of a outside company onto your pricing for jobs, then less hassle, and more yard storage for you.
👍🙂
Maybe some of the stuff you shred branches to hard (ard)😜 just a thought I know nothing Registers yourself as a health and safety inspector you know your stuff ✔️ your own box in the end it’s common sense 🚜🏴👍
It is unlikley the check companies will tell you that you are not safe or upto spec because they want a share of your earnings.
Comment for engagement
🚜😃🐄
If the green waste operation doesn't make you money then I think that you have the answer there.
I couldn't agree more these companies are a joke
👍💪🤩
as for insurance its better to have it and not need it, than have a lawsuit against you for failure to ensure health and safety on the worksite, paying anything up to millions...
always a rip off somewhere
👀🙄🐾👍
Big decision. To be ripped off or not. I do not know the answer to that.
If a professional mechanic can't fix it, it is junk. The days of baling wire and pliers are gone.
All ways someone profiteering from a solution of a problem that either don't exist or that they created.
If you take away the green waste, you will no longer have shreds for the cows...
All ways someone after your ££ to make you get more ££ hard graft and word of mouth goes a long way and repeat customer look after your customers and they will return
Sheer bolt👍👍👍😂😂😂
