Painting options for Mandalorian Helmets: Show and Tell

These are the Mandalorian Helmets that my son Mark has made over the last year and a half. In this video he discusses the different painting options he used to make them. The quality of these helmets have improved over time along with the capabilities of his workshop. Depending on your shop's capabilities some of these techniques may be useful to you.

Spazstix and Alclad work best over a 2k base coat. Or you can buff the graphite into the 2k and it looks much better than your previous graphite attempts.

agreed, 2k clear coats are too expensive though for the average person in the hobby

@@JeffMarxWoodworking 36 Euro for 1,5 Liter of clear coat wich is enough to do 15 full Armors easily. HVLP Gun around 15-20 Euro. You just gotta get your hands on a Compressor or buy one for around 130 Euros.

Yes, I'm not an "expert" on airbrushing but this is the one i Use for armor www.amazon.com/dp/B000BQKFA8/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_apa_gl_i_37GNWWHB4KJZ1XMVS5XR?linkCode=ml2&tag=jeffmarxyoutu-20 its much easier to spray large areas with a bottom loading airbrush. there are plenty of cheaper options on amazon as well.
I've recently painted a set with an HVLP gun from harbor freight with pretty good results
