@@michaelsmusicinstruments9980 You're welcome. I also like your flute videos too. Check out my cover of Bright Eyes. I'm using the keyboard plus the flute in this song.

Are the strings of the three instruments made of different materials?
They all have a distinct sound.

This is a very good question. In the past, silk was used, today nylon is mostly used. I think the Sanxian and the Sanshin try to sound the same mostly. In shamisen there are local and cultural differences in how the strings are tuned.

@@michaelsmusicinstruments9980 yes we all know which one always stick to the original xD. sanxian or pipa isn't even played with plectrum no more.
the truth lies in gagaku biwa which is suprisingly authentic from tang dynasty period drastically different then japanese modern biwa and a little bit different then modern pipa.
since its gagaku biwa from tang dynasty, its safe to assume that other instruments should have used the same string as gagaku biwa. anyhow japanese have a good collection of tang pipa

The computer read voice completely butchering the pronunciation is annoying AF. It’s too bad, as the rest of the video seems rather decent.

    三味線の撥が奇妙な形なのが気になる…
