I put these Recoil REM ECHOs 6.5 components in and the Recoil RCX 6.5 coaxials on the Recoil DI550.4 amp. I'm High Pass filtering them at 120hz that gives 12db roll off to their Fs of 60hz. The same High Pass filtering on the coaxials. I set the tweeter passive crossover to the lowest setting db on the 2 pin. Giving them about 60 watts of real power to them and the sound WAY better than I thought they would. The are clean, articulate, and accurately represent the music I'm play. I use all lossless recording from a USB drive and man price to performance they are amazing. I paired these up with a Stinger 12 inch subwoofer combo with it's Stinger ported enclosure which is set to 1ohm by their wiring. The box is tuned to 35hz and I set to manufacture's specification the subsonic filter to 30hz. I'm using the Stinger MT1000.1 amp also. This set up tuned and balanced correctly for sound quality but can hit over 100 SPL. It surprises even the pickiest of so called " street audiophiles " 😉 When I tell them I have $800.00 invested total cost they walk away shaking their heads...You don't need to invest thousands of dollars if you buy great price to performance audio gear and know how to specifically tune it in correctly to your vehicle!

I'm blind and I'm using speak to text, but I have a timpano tpt500.4 which is a 500 watt 4 channel amplifier. I plan to use it with a pair of Recoil REM 6.5 inch component speakers in the front and use recoil echo coaxial 6x9s in the rear. Also could be wrong but I think you've made a review on Amazon and responded to a few videos on RUclips regarding your setup with the recoil speakers and amp. I was curious if you could make your own video or if there was a way I could reach out to you and ask for your help with this setup because you seem to be very knowledgeable from what my voiceover has read to me. I have some technical knowledge, but I just want to make sure that I'm setting up everything right and that it'll sound really good.

Put a set of these in my winter driver. Front, stock location. Old alpine 50x4 pushing them now and they jam better than the $120 infinity components I have in another car. These are worlds better than the $50 alpine components(1751s) which are terrible. Have a set of RF components that are about $100 that sound great but they had a major workout for a year or so daily and these Recoils are very similar as far as the build on the mid and tweeter. These fosgates are more for running off a deck, not so much a good amp. The recoils sounded clear running off an alpine HU but the punch of the mods really came alive running a solid 50wrms thru them. I’d recommend a decent inexpensive amp to push them. I’m running just the alpine hu, little alpine amp for these components and a pair of 20 year old fosgate 12s in the back Sounds surprisingly good. The recoils do sound just fine off a deck that has maybe 15 watts but the mid bass driver really gets punchy for a little 6.5 with 50 watts moving it. You can definitely run them off a decent deck or factory HU/amp and the tweeters just get louder with an amp. You do get more kick and I could crank em louder with the amp when my deck would just run outta juice and you get distortion. That was still pretty dang loud on just a deck. They’re good quality speakers and outperform many that cost 4 times as much.
I’ve been cranking em long enough now that if they had some defect it would have shown up by now. Can’t go wrong with these. Just buy em

What was the rms voltage that was applied when you burnt the coil? Burnt coils are typically a sign of signal clipping. Higher wattage being applied than what the speaker is rated for usually rips the spider apart before it smokes the coil. Not always the case, but usually. Can you replicate this and measure voltage signals with a labscope so you can have and show hard evidence that you are testing it properly? Also, the free air environment is completely impractical for product testing. You can pop any speaker that way when you start throwing operating voltage to it. TS parameters matter, young buck. Glad to see you are into this at such a young age. You're going to master this field if you stick with it. Kudos, homie.

If i didn't know any better. These look just like a set of Boston Acoustics 6.2 pros. Right down to the crossovers. Those speakers were around 150.00 in 1999. Lets hope they sound half as good as The Bostons. The crosses are exactly the same right down to the case.

That's a very interesting observation, I have no experience with those Bostons, but I do plan on doing a review on how these sound. just giving them some time cuz I wanted them to break in so I can give them an honest review ,but spoiler alert ...you can't beat them for the money! Tweeters are bright imo.

These components image really good in my suv...I'm impressed by them and so are a lot of other audio enthusiast I hang out with...My favorite tweeters are the M-shape reverse dome tweeters that Focal make but I just can't justify to my self spending $800.00 on a set of their components.
