I have to admit. You're the best "MTB-related channel" ever. You've answer a lot of my question about the bike cassette, bike derailleur, bike shifters, 10 speed with 11 speed, the combination of Shimano with Sram, review about Sram vs Shimano clutch, narrow wide chainring,... etc and a lot more. Thanks a lot man =)) Keep it going !!
Good stuff as always, LoveMTB. What holds me back from SRAM, aside from the cost, is that their cassettes are on one carrier/all pinned together. I tend to wear out the smaller (11T-13T) cogs on my Shimano cassettes on flats/descents, but they are easy to replace because they are modular. New cog is about $8, but a new SRAM cassette? Ouch.
Thanks for the description. My bike was 1180 but went to 1150 for cost.
Where can you get the 11 speed XX1 cassette for the smallest price? I'm from Quebec and no Bikeshop in my area can give me a smaller price than 550$? Thanks!
Great video again. Last year I went to the 1150 on my frame up RIP9 build and couldn't be happier. I use the 42T a ton, and with it being steel, it's still going to last forever.... Between the XD driver/cassette and the simple lock-out button on the RD, SRAM has got my money all day. Brakes and cranks however still go to Shimano. ;)
hello) please tell me, is it possible to change a big metal star on aluminum? sram xg 1150
No, you have to buy a new cassette
i’ve bought a 10-42t cassette (upgrading from a 12-36t cassette) and i’m aware i need to get a xd free hub however i have no idea what one to get and what will be compatible with my current rear hub
hi , i do have question , i do have using 1150 SRAM casette at bike on XD freehub, is possible replace for TAcx or direto trainer for winter 1130 which can fit to basic shimano/ sram freehub ? thhanks
I meassured my frame with where my rear wheels attached. It measures 149mm. I laso have shit cheap hub and 10speed cassette. Will my hub and bike accommodate this cassette ??
not sure what to do, i can get this 1175 for $244.95 cdn or the 1180 for $315.96 cdn.
is the 1180 worth the extra $80 ?
i need to know asap, really wanted 1 of the X dome cassettes but i'am Not that serious of a rider.
So I tried to put an gx casette 11spd where there was a x1 before and it went on fine, but when I reinstalled the wheel there wasn't enough room for the chain in the small ring. Do you know anything about this?
I have gx shifter 11 speed and it doesn't have that eagle print on lever 🤷🏻♂️
@@LoveMTB hahahah i was trying to say that all this options and functions and graphics depend on region.
Hi I have SRAM XG-1150, 10-42, 11 speed I need something bigger than 10-42 for the up hills please help me
The difference between 1180 ($149) and 1150 ($109), in terms of durability and use. Does it just come down to weight? So, just paying $40 for 100g?
hey Ian, where can you get the 1180 for $149?
Agreed. Steel is much, much tougher than Aluminum. Most people with 1x11 use their 42t a lot as their steep climbing gear.
@@LoveMTBmore expensive cluster could have harder wearing coating on to reduce wear rust nickel or special house brand high tech
Hi, good video. i have a question, i bought a SRAM GX groupset to upgrade my scott 750, is the SRAM xd drive compatible with the current hub my bike comes with, it is a Formula DC-25 RQR disc, or which hub should i use to be able to installed the cassete XG-1150 without the need to replace the wheelset.
thanks
Thanks for the compatibility info with Shimano shifters I’ve been wondering about that.
LoveMTB thanks for that, I can see by the comments that other people also appreciate the volume of information you pack into each video for us DIY types:)
Hi good video.. i have question, just curious only. I buy this sram gx 12 speed groupset and can't find a 12 speed xd driver for my koozer hubs.. only 11 speed available.. my question is "can aither two of this cassette work on sram gx derailluer and shifter 12.speed???" Thank you. From.philippines
Some DONKEY years down the line, this video still can be considered toward educational credits. #Rideon!
Hey :) Nice vid! What would you choose if the money had something to say?
LoveMTB 11 speed specific. My 2016 Spec. Camber Expert Carbon 29er is originally with the 1180. I’m about to change the 1180 and was wondering if I should save some money and go for the 1150.
Can you really couple an 11 speed XX1 cassette to a XTR or XT derailleur? If so, it's the best combination with a DI2 setup...
For me, there is no way I'm going electronic shifting until it's 100% wireless, which it eventually will be..... Right now it's like we're in the '70s with the $400 (70's money) VCRs that had a wired remote. lol
@@ThunderStruckMTB wireless makes absolutely 0 sense on a bike. Tell me a single situation where you'd use that useless wireless feature on a bike, where all the components are bolted into place.
The only thing is that it is slightly more tricky to install, but that is a one time job and for me is worth the much longer battery life.
Does the 1130 cassette also have the xd compatible thing with the threads?
I will be curious to see if you still have the back pedaling issue with the SRAM cassette?
axxxxman SRAM cassettes are not immune to the back pedaling issue. I have X1 cassette and it drops to the third cog when pedaling backwards but it's not really an issue on the trail...
Nice vid! I`ve installed a 1150 on my Scott (took of a XT 11-42) and the 10t makes a nice difference in top speed. Thinking about put a 1190 and some 44 or 46 cog from these aftermarket brands...
Actually you`re right, I was thinking about the 1150 cost plus some extra cog, but 1195 and 1199 are much more expensive. I think the 9-44 would meet my needs. Thanks!!!
ps.: It will be a war to get one of these here in Brazil, hehe
Unfortunately, only the 1195-99 have a removable big ring! Big ring on 1150-75-80 pinned to cassette permanently.
Awesome review. Looks like you will be saving some weight for climbing the kelso hill :)
Hey, GX 1150 cassete will work good with X1 system?
ty!
cool
