Idk i'd kinda expect something like that. It'd be freakier if it was something usually uplifting like "welcome home" or "we've missed you" or a recipe for the best lava cake
Since there are apparently other endings, would you guys consider revisiting this and see if you can get them all? Love you guys so much thank you for being awesome! xoxoxo
This game kind of fascinates me. I feel like there's more to it that we haven't found. The flyer changes after seeing Rotgut and I feel like there's something more to do with it. My first attempt I missed the tunnel, walked through the forest, and fell off the edge of the map and died. After that I walked all the way down the tunnel and back until it ended. I feel like there are secrets here. Probably not a true ending, it's the journey afterall, but more to said journey. Also the height thing really bugged me, I fell off the cliff to get to the party, so I thought I had partly clipped through the ground. Wait, holy crap! I just fell over coughing and died outside! So there's gotta be at least 3 endings! I really hope people dig into this one and find a lot of cool stuff.
I got an ending where I climbed on top of the Rotgut skeleton then there was a loud noise and it faded to black. I don't think any of the endings are particularly thorough but this one (with the cat comic) is pretty fun.
@@legendaryseph9406 Alright, but Spoiler warning in advance. You begin seeing things. There're graffitis on the wall with, but you can only see some them when you turn your flashlight at them. Otherwise it's just an empty wall. Sometimes a creature resembling Rotgut randomly walks into your field of view, only to disappear when you turn away. When you get back to the party, the people are gone and the entrance to the tunnel is locked up. At that moment you lose movement control of your character. You can only look around, breathing heavily and then...it ends. Ending explains, this was the story how you got stabbed and died in a tunnel.
So, I guess that implies that the only thing keeping Rotgut from killing you is the presence of other people in the tunnel? That still leave so many loose ends open, though. What the hell does that pink sheet have to do with anything? Why does your invitation change halfway through? What do those faces mean and who are they? Do any of the graffiti have any hidden meaning?
I think I liked this game the most. I can understand why others did not, but I think it was really creepy... it worked with so little but still... it really made me feel uneasy.. first, they were walking away from the party, into the darkness- and I kept thinking: there must be something in the shadows, and they are walking towards it! - But after they have reached the tunnels end, it actually got worse, because walking back to the party ment, that the person ( they were playing as ) is the last living human between the party and the evil in the tunnel, and if there would have been a monster, moving towards the party, the player would be the first who gets killed.. especially the last few steps were very intense.. I thought: Okay, NOW the monster will attack - but it didn`t!.... seriously, have you ever been at a party, outside, when it was already dark, leaving the majority to maybe take a leak or something, and when you went back, the last few meters felt somehow creepy and when you finally returned, finding yourself in the middle of the people again, you felt somehow reliefed? This game really got me 😂
I’m totally with you. The tension just keeps building, and you start to panic when the payoff doesn’t come. It’s a paranoia simulator, which is great to me.
I know this is a 3year old comment but what do you mean thr pay off was clearly the guy getting a great story about almost getting stabbed did you not see the comic at the end?
That man straight up lied to his cat. He did not almost get stabbed in a tunnel. He saw graffiti talking about getting stabbed, but at no point did anyone actually attempt to or threaten to stab him. Don't lie to your cats, my guys. That ain't cool.
Davis's take on ROTGUT was hilarious, had me laughing the whole time at the end there. 💯👌 I can also see where Alex is coming from tho too, it really was a simulation of the kind of conversation they'd have in a tunnel full of weird shit.
I had the exact same take as Davis after playing it as well, I’ve seen a little bit of speculation on what the game is about but I think most agree it’s a drug induced walking simulator. They missed quite a bit of the “hallucinations” I found in the game but like I said all it is, is hallucinations, so I was never scared besides the initial start of the game
I think given the markings of the people on the walls that there are 7 endings. In the middle of the group of strange people shapes is the one I'd assume to be RotGut with the 6 arms. So I'm thinking there are 7 locations or endings in the tunnel. Across from those 7 figures are 7 lockers. I'm curious if the lockers "open" when you have experienced one of the endings.
Wait, it really wasn't Alex (or anyone else) that said "Rotgut" at first? Editor isn't trolling us? That first thing seemed to come from one of the guys (as they sometimes do).
Davis is probably my favourite person whom I disagree with 99% of the time. Love the guy but it's hilarious how our opinions are permanently polar opposites :)
This game really played on the extremely specific memory of watching those railroad safety videos in school where they'd make you face away from the screen and then you'd just hear the sound of a train behind you as they jumpscared you, just so you'd know that by the time you hear the train, it's too late I hope theres an ending to this that's just a train appears somehow
A. Rotgut is cool and also rad. But B. Dread X has such "the best dreamcast sampler disc" vibes. just like no whole games, just super weird/cool experiences.
This game had such a nice concept, and probably could have pulled it off if it was either shorter, or had more elements to it to pull in interest. It kind of reminds me of the backrooms game. Alot of potential but there needed to be more.
I had a mug of hot coffee to drink whilst I was watching this and I'd forgotten that this was supposed to be a horror game until they reached the woods and the thought popped into my head that if there's a jump-scare in this game i'm gonna scald myself real bad. And that anticipation of fear is what I find most scary about horror games.
Loved the game. Sure, it's just an atmospheric walking simulator, but it does the atmosphere well. I think the fact that the breathing sounds continued to be scary/he asked every single time whether it was real or in the game instead of just brushing them off is testament to that. I can see why it's not everyone's cup of tea, though.
The constant asking of whether it was real or not is kind of an issue, but also not.. It got annoying how none of them would give a clear answer if it was them or not, and even when they said no I couldn't trust them.. Luckily Jesse drops in an edit saying it's from the game. I love and hate audio that can be so well done you can't tell if it's real or not. I've played a few games where the ambient sounds of night (crickets and such) are so great I thought it was real.. then realized it's only afternoon lol. That alone can be kinda terrifying in it's own way.
I played this game before watching SGS and I completely agree with Davis. Ultimately I was just walking around waiting for something to happen and no amount of breathing and creepy voices did it for me. Coming off of intense games like Pony Factory and Summer Nights I guess made me expect something different. But like you said it just isn’t for me
Seeing as this has multiple possible random endings, you guys should play this again, except each one on a separate game, simultaneously, and make the video a split screen of 4 games with different outcomes.

Bogglemanify I went all the way down the tunnel, like past where the squad went if I remember correctly, and then when I turned around there was another wall behind me. I left it alone for a while and the walls started getting closer, very slowly and I was hyperventilating again. Then they closed in and it just ended.
It would be so cool if you guys did something like this IRL like Alex said. Im sure there is some "haunted" tunnels near you guys I've heard of, Devils Gate Damn is in LA I think, there is a tunnel you can go in there
What do you mean? All of the letters from what I saw kinda explain the thesis behind what the game is about or trying to say. Like the letter for Rotgut was about correctly fixing drugs, which then makes you understand the hallucinations you are experiencing in the game

@Ty Bey Well but he meant seeing that on a dark and scary tunnel, nowhere to run, no one to hear you scream.
