If you crush the garlic before slicing you get more flavor, add a pinch of salt as well, it boosts flavor
"we've got a chopping board today...."
chops onion in hand. :) love your videos dude.
i must say it really great so see you putting female crabs and smaller yet still legal catches back and protecting the future generations ..many dont .... thank you for that .. good to see that young conger eel .. hard to believe the monster fish it will hopefully one day become ( but still quite cute ) i used to see one when diving of lulworth quite a friendly girl ... i used to take her some squid
Thats the sign of a true sportsman. We take what we NEED, not what we WANT!!!!!
love how "hell yeah" replaces periods 😂👍
shrimp at 23:05 : "maybe he'll let me go and not eat me"
guy : "thats the sort of shrimp we're after BABEY WOO"

learned from The Fish Locker you can humanely put the crab down, by putting it in the fridge to make it go into hibernation, it pretty much slows the system down to a stop. Also, while you're steaming everything, you can toss in the sea lettuce and steam it till it's tender, then saute it in the frying pan with some butter and garlic.
Love the video's lads, but need to relax on the slow-mo 🤙
I think the slow-mow is good
Slow-mo garlic chop BABY! WOO!
This is so satisfying.
It's Zen to watch you.
This makes me feel calm.
i think you mean clam! aye!
heh, i'll see myself out
Here in America we fill in the holes we dig so others can enjoy a stroll without looking for ankle snapping landmines
need to bring some little potatoes and some corn on the cob
This is literally my favourite RUclips channel. You are amazing to watch and I love your positivity, knowledge, kindness with the smaller creatures (letting them back) and just general awesomeness. Thanks for your great attitude and content.
Is it just me or was that eel absolutely gorgeous
Excellent I love it. I am now going through all your videos. I love you and Sam so much. I have to watch all your videos so I can know what you are talking about in upcoming videos. Yes I will share your videos. I want you to succeed. I want these videos at least twice a week.

Nice. Yet exciting. Thanks for sharing
Yes , A Lovely Day indeed. Thank you for sharing. Always enjoy you two .
If you take the syphon off the gaper clams and blanch them in boiling water and peel the skin off they taste amazing. Sauté them in butter with garlic, rosemary, basil and chive and add them as a topper to a crab cake or fish sandwich. Discard the skin, its what gives them a not so great taste.
My brother and I went down to Dewey Beach, Delaware and did some foraging. We live in the United States. We got clams and Blue crab Not as good as the UK, but damn good.
Y'all are a trip! Thanks
Hey Sam! Yeah for sure!!!😂🤣😂🤣! About 30 times 😂🤣😂🤣😂

Amazing forage and cook guys. Well done I've never cooked Abalone like that before as it's too expensive. I'm surprised it's not tough, you are lucky where you live as you have amazing seafood. Keep up the forage guys wooooh
i think you should add some beer too. hell yeah
I like what you do , have same passion for the sea and have done same foraging , but in Sardinia, were I come from😊 I am about sure that those big round venus are the species " Dosinia exolenta Linneo,1758 and the smallest one with concentric ribs, is still a Venus and is name Venus nux Gmelin, 1791.
I just came across your videos, i really love them. A lot of fun to watch and i like all the info you give.
Grate video guys and grate to see our beaches hold such wonderful sea life,👍🦀🦞🦐🐟
and who dislikes these videos ? don't get them at all, the guy puts in huge effort to make them and doesn't deserve your pettiness, if it's not your thing don't watch them.
I’m from the south shore of Long Island, New York. As a child, my cousins and I would dig for the clams you use as bait. We called them steamers and when cooked were quite edible. We would also go crabbing using either a trap or net. Now, you need a license to clam or crab and must be knowledgeable of where you are due to water pollution. I enjoy your videos.
We do this at broadchannell here in New York. Great video guys .I'm doing forge fir sea food
Never tried rockling, but have eaten greater weever,. Tasted a cross between gurnard and bass. Another great video guys.👍🤘

Great foraging skills good for SURVIVAL in an Apocalyptic situation.
So that my daughter can learn from your videos I am subscribing to your channel.
well damn.. good deal as usual gents.. life form soup! sies mares! lol
If your "gapers" are the same as our "soft-shell clams" or "steamers" (Mya arenaria) you are wasting a lovely clam by using it mainly as bait. Leave them for a day or so in saltwater sprinkled with coarse cornmeal (polenta will probably do...). Then either steam them or shuck them, remove the neck skin, dredge them with seasoned flour/cornmeal/fine bread crumbs, and deep fry them. Steamed you strip off the neck skin and dunk the entire clam in leftover clam juice from the steaming pot, then in melted butter. Fried you can eat them plain with salt, squeeze lemon over them, dunk them in tartar sauce, splash 'em with malt vinegar like fish-fry, or stuff them into a hoagie with mayo or tartar sauce to eat as a po'boy. Any of these options are marvelous. The texture is closer to mussels or oysters than to the bouncy little ball of delicious eraser that is the beach clam or hard-shell clam or quahog (pronounced co-hog in the States...). But the flavor is just as good.
I don't know where you are at but the scenery is gorgeous
Awesome work guys really feeling your passion for foraging and eating straight from the sea. Love your videos. Merry Christmas 🎅

Sam has such a baby face, cute.
Another badass vid! You guys eat well as always!
woohooo. you love it. i love it. you guys are so lucky to live so well. i love the Norfolk coast where i live but i have never seen such abundant coast as this except for another online foraging show based in West Wales. What coastline are you foraging on?
Fantastic as always fellas! Do you ever do beach long lines? If you pick the right tide they're awesome. I do 25 hooks at about 3 feet apart, anchored each end, walk out into a low tide paying out your baited hooks as you walk back up the beach. Let the tide roll in over them (best on a fast incoming surf beach). I either cover the bait with sand if the tide is slower or fish with a couple if rods either side of my line and move back as the tide covers each new long line hook and bait. I then fish until its covered full or do a low tide to low tide long session. Great for fishing for your freezer and to get to know an area of a beach well. You can return anything undersized or unwanted if you time recovery of your line to meet each hook as it is revealed or add an extra emply line up the beach of the top anchor and draw the whole thing whenever you like before next low tide. Keep up the great work guys!
J W thanks dude , Iv done long lines on boats before but I don’t from the shore as we have a lot of swimmers in the bays so I don’t do it , to be fair I don’t keep a lot of fish as I like catch an release unless a fish is injured then il do a catch an cook with it , thanks for watching 👍
If you've had a bit of wind take Beano for it LOL just kidding
I love the way you respect the size law and put things back but could you please kill the crabs before you chuck them in that boiling broth cos that can the a nice way to die. Thanks so much for your brilliant videos

William Jones I lived in America for a year and I didn’t see any difference from here to there.
@@seanranklin2733 it's a joke ..it may be only a American joke ..idk
William Jones yeah I’ve heard the stereotype many times, I don’t get it.
@@seanranklin2733 I'm not smart enough to explain it to you ...Google is your freind 👍
You sound so much like Litamatoma. It's weird. Love your vids!
Abalone are also severe hemophiliacs as their fluids will not clot in the case of a laceration or puncture wound. So those that you let go may very well die anyway.
I appreciate that you are trying to be good stewards of your environment but the way you remove these from the rocks almost certainly means the ones you return will die.
Love your vids .
Subbed.
Has chopping board, proceeds to cut onion in hand lol
If you see a big sea urchin the black ones they taste good eat the inside raw only the orange part
"Wooo!"
Them velvet swimmers are now a protected species lads, you doing well though well done.

Hell Yeah!!
Those flat fish get way bigger out here, that's probably where the momma drops her litter at to grow then they head to the bigger ocean sea bed check out mark Mann you tube he was spear fishing for the flats.
Don’t think it’s a good practice to remove the abalone from the rock if your not going to keep it.
Once cut the animal will bleed to death because they lack the ability to heal.
Just a thought
