Did you know that many smart phones not only allow people with vision loss and blindness to use them using various adaptations like magnifiers, colour inverters, and screen readers, but also allow people to braille on screen instead of typing using the standard QWERTY keyboard?! It's pretty cool how adaptive tech allows me as a blind person to interact with my digital space in new and exciting ways every day!

I wonder if one day there will be a holographic screen to type Braille...but maybe that's just me loving sci-fi too much. 😆
I think there is a keyboard In bluetooth to your phone but maybe i'm wrong
@@EclecticallyEccentric I type braille on my touchscreen smartphone. Does that count? 😛 close but so far. Maybe the Apple Vision Pro will do that with its holo keyboard in the next gen.
Braille screen input is what enables me to type on my phone, typing with the on screen keyboard is too slow and I find that using dictation requires too much editing.
I love that that is awesome. I use braille on my phone all the time when I don’t want to speak my messages.
Im a sign language interpreter - my deaf/blind friends blow me away with their iphones...
So many cool ways to interact. Amazing. I'm always in awe how interpreters can convey information in real-time. I know a few signs due to a previously HoH partner but have never had a huge amount of luck finding accessible ASL courses online or near me. Any advice where to start? Always trying to up my accessibility game. :)
@@UnsightlyOpinions I'm surprised there's not a community college in your area with a decent program. I learned at the University of Pittsburgh - I had no idea it would change the rest of my life- I only started to fulfill my language requirement.
I don't know how successful online classes are - it's so much easier if you have access to someone who knows the language IRL.
Great channel - I love your content. Teach me editing and I'll teach you ASL!
Best of luck ~ I look forward to more from you.
This is fucking brilliant. This is one I didn't know about!
This is great support you!
Thanks!
This is so awesome!
Blessings from Argentina. You are a Beauty Princess.
Girl! That dress and belt combo is 🔥 Need!
I had no idea you could do that on smartphones, that’s so cool. I love that dress on you btw.
Huh! That's so fascinating. I like this.
Would've been extra cool if a case existed with those buttons at the back
I love your dress/outfit!
I hope AI learns to read with a melodious intonation in the near future. 😅 If I went blind my PTSD would cause a lot of trouble with some of the devices you use due to my trauma related noise sensitivity / misophonia. And I can imagine that there are indeed vision impaired persons with a similar problem.
There are a lot of fantastic ai voices that sound very human now. I think the thing for me is the faster those speed up the weirder and less clear they sound. The robot voice makes it easier to hear faster. But I totally see your point. I’m just glad there are options for everyone exist because one size never fits all :)
@@UnsightlyOpinions Thank you for your lightning-fast reply! 😃 I am really captivated by your channel and your personality as well. Glad the algorithm found you. 🥰
@@amerubix185 Thank you so much! :)
When did you learn Braille? My Mom asked my vision teacher in third grade if I should learn it, but she Said no.
Its cool how many skills blind people have we sighted people don't think about. Like, it seems like yall have thousands of little skills to learn, seems hard but impressive
I'm sure there are 1000 skills you have and don't even think about that I have never even considered either! Just a different experience I think :)
Name of the app?
Not really an app. VoiceOver which is built into all iPhones/iPads has that as a built in typing feature
Hi ^^
Can you read this
"NEVER GONNA GIVE YOU UP
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around or desert you"
