Love these conversations, particularly on the subtlety of history and how it is remembered.

Great stuff as always. Have the Tod Carter letters been published? Or available online somewhere?

Very nice description of the many ironies and tragedies of those 3 days from the lost opportunity in Spring Hill to the suicidal charge converging on the Carter House, I took your half day battle tour last year which was very inciteful in trying to piece together the psychology of this disaster. What surprises me is why Todd Carter wasn't at least temporarily assigned to the General Staff due to his intimate knowledge of the area. Perhaps he could have identified the unfavorable angle of attack, creating such a small killing zone at the Carter House. He did approach from the southwest which was the least fortified by Union forces. I am also curious why his grave seems to be somewhat distanced from the rest of his family plot. Thanks for the video.
