I like Escaflowne and I like Florence and the Machine so it seemed like a decent fit. I've wanted to edit with Escaflowne for a long time and was glad I finally got around to doing it.
I ended up commissioning some artwork from Hagaren Viper so I could put together a few scenes.

This AMV is the reason I decided to watch Escaflowne. Really glad I did because it's an amazing anime.
Cool, because I'm also really considering if I should watch it - I think I'm going to watch it. Did you watch sub or dub(just wondering)?
I watched it with subs because I watch pretty much all anime subbed. I'm not sure how good the dub of this show is but you could always quickly check both the sub and dub out and see which one you prefer though.

***** the dub is old, and from ocean studios so none of the english voices are in any other dub you have ever seen and thats kind of refreshing. english Hitomi and Van are a little over dramatic, but Alan Shazard was completely awesome in the dub. So its a little hit or miss. watchable and fine when compared to other old dubs but a little sup par when considering more modern standards. Definitely a classic, and I recommend watching this Mech show before you watch a lot of the others because it will help realize most Mech shows try to copy this one and it isn't the other way around.

This video is so beautiful, it gave me chills. I love how you put a kiss scene at the end. I always felt that was missing from the anime.
Oh yes!!! I always hoped for a Kiss between Van and Hitomi, but there was NOTHING!!! T___T But wasn`t she kissed by Allen?
This is my favorite AMV in Otakon 2013. I remember watching this on Fox Kids in my younger days. I rewatched the series a few days ago and I can't get enough of it.
Sometimes I just have to come back and watch this again.

This AMV gave me shivers. Seriously, I've never come across a better portrayed representation of what this show was about, the song fits it perfectly and the editing is beautiful. It reminds me why I love the show.
Words cannot describe how much I LOVE this AMV. God I wish more good Escaflowne AMVs were made. A classic anime like that deserves better treatment.
Man such nostalgia. Got me to watch Escaflowne again and remember why I never take it off my top 5 list even over a decade since I first saw it.
I haven't watched Escaflowne in a really long time. Close to ten years now. I remember loving Escaflowne when it was new, but over the years that love has faded. But watching this... Wow. It made me remember why I loved Escaflowne in the first place. I need to break out my old DVDs and watch it again.
You. Are. SO. BAMF, I can't...thank you! Thank you SOOOOO much for this WONDERFUL AMV! You took EVERYTHING I love about Escaflowne and puts its epicness, it's incredible story and characters and Van and Hitomi and edited them together so beautifully, and all in under five minutes! You sir/miss, are now my hero! Please, don't EVER delete this!

I watched Escaflowne when i was VERY young. I don't remember the names. I don't remember the characters and i have totally forgotten everything about the plot but what do remain is my innate love for it. its the feeling that you get when you see your brother after a long time. you don't know what he did when the both of you were apart but somehow you still love him
I am kicking my ass for not seeing this at Otakon and I go every year. Escaflowne is my favorite anime above everything else. And you, Shin, have made me so emotional and tearful..T_T I get chills every time I see this video. I love this so much!! Amazing editing. I love the Tarot cards at the end and the artwork used in the video. Absolutely amazing.

Seeing this at Otakon pretty much made the con for me. Esca is one of my top three favorite anime ever and it was fantastic to see it get some love. I really liked how well you used the lyrics to resonate with canon events and themes.
You have no idea how awesome it was seeing such a breath-taking amv for Escaflowne....right after I had bought the anime series at Otakon and came down to the amv contest on Saturday :)

that kiss was custom artwork I commissioned from Hagaren Viper to incorporate into the video. The other scenes that looked unfamiliar were either from the video game or altered from other sources.

Really awesome :) I remember when I watched this :') It was a pretty cheap boxset and an anime I hadn't really seen so I picked it up and I'm glad I did. I also edited with this in one of my first Vegas AMVs. I love this and it's really well done.

Wow, I never thought of commissioning art for use in an AMV--that's actually a brilliant idea! This video is really great, I saw it at Anime Boston and I was impressed to see such a great Escaflowne video. =) Maybe I'll finally go back and finish that anime, started it years ago but stopped halfway through.

I just got done re-watching the Escaflowne series and what do I find? An Escaflowne Amv from one of my favorite Amv Editors!! :)
It was good, and I love your work, but unless I'm not getting something, I think there were a few too shots of the pendulum, to the point where it started to detract from the overall experience. I think it's probably because your work is often so original with each scene that it stands out a little to me.

Was there a movie version of Escaflowne - something other than the original anime? I don't remember seeing them kiss or a few scenes in here, but it was a while ago...
