People always want to hate on these guys that rebuild the wrecks and sometimes re-sell them. Personally I have seen some pretty sketchy re-build techniques in person and the fact that this guy is transparent enough to show every cut and weld that he makes on a project speaks volumes to the quality of work he is doing. Keep it up dude!
Yeah I suspect the goonzsquad builds are pretty terrible that's why they hide from the public. They look ok on camera but if they ever did a public appearance with some builds they would look not too nice.
The hard work usually goes to vtuned, who I respect, but their actual work is super cringe. They get some cool stuff to slap crappy carbon fiber all over though. Their channel seems to be mostly for kids and people who don't really know anything about cars. Vehcor is an awesome channel, I'd definitely compare him to Dave.
Hi Dave. Been watching your videos off and on. I just want to say you are the King of your craft. It makes a good number of people working at body shops look like they are running around with their brains unplugged, if you know what I mean. Keep wrenching, welding and working, Dave. The day you ever decide to hang up your tools, it will be a sad day for the automotive restoration and maybe even the entire automotive world.
That is some great work. You have way more patients than I do. I can't wait to see it completed. Don't sell it when you are done, you will regret it. That is awesome rare vehicle. My wife and I bought a TRX a few months ago. We paid a little over sticker on it. It had just arrived to the dealer 2 days before and we happened to drive by it on the way to a farm supply. I texted our sales guy right away and said I was interested then bought it 2 days later. They said I could order one for sticker if I didn't want to pay more. The people that ordered are still waiting.
Awesome work Dave. It’s nice to see this getting fixed up the right away and no corners being cut. Can’t wait to watch the process on this and other projects.
I really like how you go the extra mile and change even parts that wouldn't be seen. At least here in PR, I doubt any bodyshop would do that. Great work
Bloody brilliant Dave, I’ve gotta say it that I can’t say that I’m surprised that you have managed to get top dollar for the vehicles that you have rebuilt, you go the extra mile to ensure that everything is spot on with your rebuilds and so far as I can tell there aren’t many other channels that go through such meticulous detail on the repairs. You’re by far my favourite builder creator and for very good reason too.
You have a great vision. It’s amazing how you just jump right in with which seems like no fear. I don’t have the confidence to even begin doing what you do. Mad props to you.
It amazes me how so many pieces put together are meant to be the main structure of the vehicle. It also goes to show how much damage can be underneath the outer skin. It's like bumpers. Just because the bumper has minor damage doesn't mean everything underneath isn't damaged. A friend of mine got bumped from behind. The bumper had a one inch crack. But when the body shop did their inspection, the bumper crash bar and supports were bent. The rear frame rails the supports were attached to were damaged as well. Yep! Good ole' crumple zones! This is why a minor fender bender could result in a fairly new vehicle being totaled because of the underlying frame and structural damage. Fortunately for my friend, his car was only a year old and the repairs were only 1/3 of the value of his car. They told him if the car had been going 5mph faster, his care would've been totaled because the entire rear section would have been damaged. Gotta love modern engineering and technology. I feel like we are about 100 years behind on automotive technology at this point.
Hey Dave, I've been watching for a while now and I have to say thanks for the entertainment. I used to be a laser technician for an automotive company and I did most of the RS/rt and ru programs for Chrysler as well as ford/ GM, Honda and Toyota laser welding blanks. Keep up the good work
Great content Dave! I rebuilt title is kinda shit for most repair shops/garages as you mentioned because they DO NOT do it properly in most occasions. You on the other hand sir, I would buy the stuff you're selling...ha ha ha! 100% great quality from you man!
Super dave!!! Good to see you in good health!! I am glad you went ahead and removed the 3 back pieces to replace them. In the end it will be correct and you won't have that thought swimming around of whether you should have done it. Good man!!
You are doing it right and it’s a beautiful job. I don’t see this type of work lately and I commend you✊I would love to work with you once on a project. I have no problem doing things right.Awesome buddy 👍🏽
Dave an amazing job as always! I like how you do your work at a higher level! I have seen many shops take shortcuts on a repair like this to get it out the door fast! Those shops could give a rip if it's a good repair or not as long as it's fast! Anyhow Dave well done! I am looking forward to the next video!
Lots of work but its well worth it 👌 can't wait for the parts to come in so we can see you weld them up hell yeah it would be a awesome daily and you have tv's on the headrest and the red in this is nice
even with some of dave's cars being salvage title, all the work is documented on youtube. no short cuts were taken. if i had an extra 90k to burn id buy the Durango off him once completed lol
Just as well that you found all the damage and stopped dismantling the Durango, otherwise there's be nothing left! That comes with being a perfectionist, everything has to be right. Like you said, a lot of shops wouldn't have gone to the lengths you've gone to. It will be interesting to see you putting it all beck together again. What settings and size wire do you use for plug welding?
Some people don’t care about rebuilt titles, they want the prestige of the vehicle at a lower cost, and could care less. Ask anyone that rebuilds BMW’s
I think it's absolutely hilarious how there's some critics who don't believe that you could get $90,000 for that Durango Hellcat after you're done when they obviously have not been to a dealership lately and seen the markups on just used cars alone. 🤣🤣
man ill be honest i love what dave is doing but you can go on cargurus or any other car sight and find srt hellcat durangos all day long for 90-100k as i said i like the content love the builds and i think it would be awesome if he got that kind of money but anyone paying that price right now would be a fool
I've transitioned from your Magnum Hellcat project to your Hellango rehab. It makes me want to do my own! While I realize it may be hard to estimate what the effort has cost you, (labor not withstanding), a listing of the tools used would be valuable. Most interesting is the induction tool you use to soften panel and glass adhesives. Where did you find that tool. One last question; why don't you have a helper? I see all the effort of going back and forth to get this or that or to fetch tools and it seems if you had an assistant, like an auto shop student(s) things would go much faster, less taxing on you and you could pass along some of your invaluable knowledge. Just sayin'.
It all depends on if he can get the engine and transmission he has for the Rampage (the official name of the car) rebuilt in time for SEMA. If not, he'll just use the engine and transmission from the Durango temporarily just for SEMA. That is if SEMA isn't cancelled due to the coof, or some other dumb ass reason.
You and Scott (at VEHCOR) are two guys I would 100% trust with a used vehicle or even fixing a personal vehicle.
Yeah I suspect the goonzsquad builds are pretty terrible that's why they hide from the public. They look ok on camera but if they ever did a public appearance with some builds they would look not too nice.

Vehcor is an awesome channel, I'd definitely compare him to Dave.
Don't trust Mr. Spotty though, he hangs around in very questionable places.
Yeah buddy, got the day off work and my favorite youtuber hooks up a video 🔥
Lucky you. Once again I have to wait till I'm off work to watch
BROTHER DAVE NEVER FAILS US, I LOVE HOW YOU GO THE EXTRA MILE TO PERFECT YOUR PROJECTS, HELL I WOULD PAY 90k for it...IF I HAD IT TO SPEND!!!TO BE 100

Your attention to detail, is impressive..great to watch
It is so nice to see repairs done the right way!! Nice job Dave
I really like how you go the extra mile and change even parts that wouldn't be seen. At least here in PR, I doubt any bodyshop would do that. Great work
You're turning into a US version of Arthur Tussik.... What a huge amount of work, good for you for doing the right thing.
" I just sell stuff when people have the money to buy it." JYD ~ Love it!
Any car's beauty is only sheet metal deep. Dave's knowledge of how to strip down a wrecked car and rebuild it is simply amazing!

Wish more people had your level of excellence Dave... well done on doing it right!
You have a great vision. It’s amazing how you just jump right in with which seems like no fear. I don’t have the confidence to even begin doing what you do. Mad props to you.
Any body else would have yanked the drive train and junked it. I don't even think body shops would have attempted that. Super Dave!
BOY YOU ALL THE WAY IN NOW!! CANT WAIT TO SEE THIS PROCESS OF PUTTING IT ALL BACK.
I do appreciate your %100 attention to detail. Your work ethics and skill level is outstanding!👍🏽
never fails to amaze me on what dave does next .great vid.

Since you live in Colorado you should consider a wrecked 392 Wrangler when one shows up. Keep it or not it would be a win there.
Loving how you to the extra to make it right, you are a hard worker my friend.
Wholly smokes! There's almost nothing left now. It's a bummer the salvage yard didn't cut that half off for you in actual "half".
You're making good progress on this! Can't wait to see it finished
You make it look so effortless. It's like you have a hundred years of knowledge. Keep it going fam. #JYDTheChamp
Good job, keep going.
Don't worry Dave you are still finishing builds faster then Trevor ha ha.
BAHAHAHAHA IM ACTUALLY LOL'ing. Dave and Trev do need to do a collab video though soon :/
Can it be fixed? yes Junkyard Dave can
# 🚗 🚘
Hey Dave, I've been watching for a while now and I have to say thanks for the entertainment.
I used to be a laser technician for an automotive company and I did most of the RS/rt and ru programs for Chrysler as well as ford/ GM, Honda and Toyota laser welding blanks.
Keep up the good work
Please do a break down of how much it cost to rebuild once ur done rebuilding it !
You are doing good with the Durango:no more Durango Hellcat in 2022!👍👍🤘
With the shortage of parts probably not going to have 3000 made either
Great content Dave! I rebuilt title is kinda shit for most repair shops/garages as you mentioned because they DO NOT do it properly in most occasions. You on the other hand sir, I would buy the stuff you're selling...ha ha ha! 100% great quality from you man!
Loving this build series!
Dave is the only one I’d trust with buying a salvaged title. Anyone else forget it.
Another good one is vehcor. Have you seen his videos? He does an excellent job on rebuilds.
Super dave!!! Good to see you in good health!! I am glad you went ahead and removed the 3 back pieces to replace them. In the end it will be correct and you won't have that thought swimming around of whether you should have done it. Good man!!
You always do it right, if I was buying one I would definitely prefer yours over anyone else’s that was “restored salvage “.
Lot of work.Keep up the good job
Dave you really stripped down, its going to be beautiful,. Keep up the great work and God Bless you and your family. 🔥💯💪🏼👍👍🙏🙏✌😊✌
You are doing it right and it’s a beautiful job. I don’t see this type of work lately and I commend you✊I would love to work with you once on a project. I have no problem doing things right.Awesome buddy 👍🏽
Oh yeah, she’s all coming together!
Brother I like you and your videos.
Thanks for these intellectual efforts.
👍
You did another great job can’t wait to see it when you get it done.
Late getting to the video today but again top notch keep it up man! the hard work will pay off!!
Hi that’s the best way of doing it as you got all the parts anyway really good videos to watch
Good job don't cut corners;)
Dave an amazing job as always! I like how you do your work at a higher level! I have seen many shops take shortcuts on a repair like this to get it out the door fast! Hi so happy that u r doing it right
Lots of work but its well worth it 👌 can't wait for the parts to come in so we can see you weld them up hell yeah it would be a awesome daily and you have tv's on the headrest and the red in this is nice
Holy shit Dave that’s a lot work my man. 50k for the Durango plus all that labor wow!!
Lot of work, but you´re happy and we´re too
Anything can be fixed with the right amount of money and talent
Knew you could pull that truss down with the lift post and ratcheting strap! Movin along nicely.
Top work, Id personally be happy with you doing the work over a normal body guy
Dave, thank you so much for sharing this project, love the level of detail that you are doing, keep up the good work!
Good morning Dave and thumbs UP to you !
Cool! Glad you are making some progress on this vehicle! It will be a sweet ride when you finish it.
Thanks for the great video content!
You are doing a great job
Great job Dave, your doing the perfect job!
even with some of dave's cars being salvage title, all the work is documented on youtube. no short cuts were taken. if i had an extra 90k to burn id buy the Durango off him once completed lol
Dave you are a FUCKIN animal ..how you attack these projects...keep up the great work .still waiting for the magnum to get finished..
🙏 hellwagon. In the words of VanHalen come on Davie finish what you started I'm incomplete 😅
Amazing work...
Me I appreciate the extra work u do?! Lik I’m going to drive it! The job u do is awesome man! U don’t cut corners at all!!!🦾🦾🦾🦾🦾
I think the peace of mind from having some fresh, structurally sound sheet metal in there is worth the money.
Best ocd ever 😆 making things right. Nice work.
Cant wait to see the finish buddy
That's a lot of spot welds.
You know this would be a awesome giveaway car..just saying
Awesome Repairs as Always
Junkyard Dave is problem one of a handful of people I'd ever consider buying something that was this bad from bc he cuts 0 corners
Love all the videos man!
Some people don’t care about rebuilt titles, they want the prestige of the vehicle at a lower cost, and could care less. Ask anyone that rebuilds BMW’s
That's a hell of a job awesome hell yeah
Curious why you won't flange and splice in the back corner you have from the white one? If you're already doing the lower portion of the rear door????
Attention to detail
Wonder what total cost in labor and parts it would cost?
Great video Dave. Where can I get one of those machines you use to heat up the glue to pull parts apart?
Demaciado trabajo
Pero passion es passion.....
One hell of a good job Dave keep up the good work your videos aren't inspiration.
Where are you I am waiting for the video every day❤️👍
Nice work.
Question Dave on a 2016 durango 2wd is it possible to make it positive track wheels did ask at some shops but no real answer
What is that electric spot heater tool you keep using?
What was that you were using to heat the metal?
Nice job
It's a lot of work but at the end its going to worth it 👌

It all depends on if he can get the engine and transmission he has for the Rampage (the official name of the car) rebuilt in time for SEMA. If not, he'll just use the engine and transmission from the Durango temporarily just for SEMA. That is if SEMA isn't cancelled due to the coof, or some other dumb ass reason.
nice work
What about the SEMA build? Are you going to be able to finish in time? It's only 55 days away.
Do the roof of carbon fiber too
Amazing job ❤️
Wow!! She’s definitely going to look worse before she looks better 👍🇺🇸
Great video as always, just keep doing what your doing 😎😎😎👍👍👍
Nice work on this, however it should not be plug welded, or section at a laser weld. This is not a custom build like the wagon.
And heeeee's back with me good content...
Your music ran a bit short there. lol
