I fitted those reverse light units on my L322 a few weeks ago. I wasn't crazy about them at first but they've grown on me. I like how they sort of echo the circular design of the taillights.
The main problem with those fresnel lens style LED lights is that they look utterly terrible. It's an L322 not an L320 Sam, get that tat off it! ;) I've gone for the DIY option on my L322 like you used to have, and they work great. Since most L322 reverse lights basically fall apart anyway with the glue failing, fitting them is very easy.
They are a bit chinsy looking, but wanted to try them out regardless. I might buy another set of standard lights and then try upgrading them a bit more professionally next time. Cheers!
I find that warmer dipped lights dazzle me less than cold ones, which can be a big problem when they are mounted on comparatively high vehicles like this. Warm dip, cold main seems a good compromise. I'm not sold on the reversing lights. They do look very non-original and rather cheap. As opposed to inexpensive.
The style of those reversing lights actually mirrors your additional lights above quite well... the only thing I'd like to suggest is that you start to mention the CRI of the LED's you're using, this is generally considered way more important than the colour temperature - a lot of warmer temperature LED's have much higher CRI's, which is why they're preferable as things look more recognisable, even if they're technically not as "bright". Colder colour temperatures LED's tend to put out more lumens, but don't necessarily make for better vision!
I can sort of see that! Now they’ve been on a week or two I don’t really notice them. Regarding CRI, good idea - but unfortunately the vast majority of LEDs don’t list CRI. It’s not something I’ve ever seen listed for automotive applications but it would be useful!
I just love led lights such better then old style fittings, I had a Merc and the bulbs were endlessly blowing so replaced with led bulbs and never blew again, same goes with my house so many bulbs used to blow, take the kitchen underneath of the cupboards lightening they used to go all the time and were quite expensive for a silly little bulb and again changed them for led lightening and still have them about 15 years later they were worth the extra money. I own an evoque and must say tempting to change the boot bulb now for a brighter white led one.
Do you have the Aliexpress link you used for the mirror? I believe you have the "Split housing" mirror as well. Mine is a 2006, and just wanted be sure if I was ordering the correct one. Thanks.
Love a light video.. Always been in the fence with those main beam type ones but they look epic.. I don't mind those reverse ones tbf but I guess the plastic will age over next 12month n look yellowy. When we getting the auxbeam vid 😮
Dipped Beam Osrams Xenarcs are different for 2006 - 2009 L322. Need to be the DS1 (not the DS3) I rushed to Ali and ordered without checking first! Egg on face and down on funds.
I previously had a Saab 9000 CD. For him, the outer ~1/4 was curved so that the driver can see wider. Has anyone seen such mirrors for RR? I miss the field of view of the l322. The mirrors seem small.
Bit of an unfair comparison, we can't expect a Range Rover to match up to a Saab! 😜 I find the mirrors to be OK on the L322... you could add the little inset "blind spot" mirrors if you wanted though I guess?
Hi Sam. When looking at the Headlight upgrade, did you look at LEDs and what specification? And any conclusions please, looking for a Cool white against a Warm white. Followed you with the other LED upgrades....all good. The reversing lights aren't for me, have a white L322 and don't think the black would suit it, instead I inserted LED bulbs in my reversing lights. Will have to wait until you display the item in the outro...."or is it" before I purchase anything headlighty! 😱
Hi, do you mean HID replacement with LED? I have looked into this yes - there are quite a few options available - even Bevinsee does one now. It might be something I try out next winter - we're sort of coming the end of 'headlight season' now!
Hi sam i wondered if i can ask you a question as you seem really knowledgeable about the L322, mine is an 04 vogue and i recently took the battery off to recharge it and when i put it back on it cranks but wont fire. Ive checked the fuses and relays to the fuel pump and all seem fine. Ive come to look for the inertia swith that cuts off the fuel in the event of an accident( its not been in one) and there is not one anywhere that i can see. Is there any other way you know of that will get fuel in to fire the engine. Many thanks Will.
Are the headlights on the facelift different to the pre facelift? I’ve got a 2008 vogue and there’s a little metal clip that holds the main beam in place and I can’t get it over the Bevinsee LED bulb?
If you remove the adapter from the Bevinsee (twist to remove) and insert that first, you should be able to then insert the LED and twist it to lock in place.
There is actually a smoked version of those reversing lights available - Which would probably look better for a blacked out look. However, like most here - The actual light output is more important 😂

Hey Sam, for those reverse lights. Did you find them to wiggle a bit once put into place? Mine seem to. It seems like it would be hard to install them incorrectly. When off the lens is completely black. They look a bit different then yours. As far as I know I ordered them from your link. I like them, except for the wiggle.
Sam, great video as always - thanks for uploading. Your L322 makes the exact same weird noise as mine at 17:17. Any idea what the clicking noise is? I've been told it's the viscous fan clutch and nothing to worry about. Is it something you've looked into? For reference I've also got the 4.4 TDV8. Thanks!
Hi there I have a2007 Land Rover Range Rover sport the trouble I am having is some time the dash cluster goes dead and the radio will say system fault shutting down and will not start I need your help
It's a cheap Amazon one but I got it because it has a current clamp too. amzn.to/3TtbXi9 I've also got a nice old Fluke 123 in the tool box for when I need a bit more accuracy!
Hi Sam, long time subscriber, and I just wanted to check, would these new Headlights & Reverse lights fit straight into a 2007 L322 Supercharged 4.2 Ltr model? Cheers
No. That’s what I have have. Ordered the D3S and the V55. Neither work. Need the D1 and think the vendor shows the V26. I have the wrong sizes for sale now if anyone wants them as i can’t ship them back to ali express.
Haha, you cute Brits, inserting extra vowels in words since the 5th century. Say it with me: alooomiiinuuum. Not aleeeoohmiiineeeuuum. Great content as always Sam. You’ve finally convinced me to get some stuff for my 322. Thank you for your efforts!
What globes are in your high beam (the extra lens which are halogen stock)? & I dont want to be rude but you asked for opinions on the reverse lights.... i think they look awfull sorry 👽
I had Bevinsee V45 and just fitted Bevinsee V55 in this video. Was really happy with the V45 for over a year - the V55 seem brighter so far. Fair comment on the reverse lights, they are a bit plastic fantastic! 😅

Just added these to my truck, they look great. Thank you. I also love the LED for the boot!!!
I like all the upgrades you've done to L322 Sam keep up the good work.

Suspect there would be a pretty good market for pre-modified original reverse lights with LEDs fitted.... I'd buy some anyway
Any ideas on the parking lights that stay on to color match? The white lights below the yellow on the outside

Yeah it’s a whole new world of good efficient lighting that we’re in now!
Great content video and informative thanks. 👍👍👍👍👍😊
Lovely job good video 🚘🚙🚗👍👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Can't wait for Ali-Express to move to the UK & Ireland much more choice than Amazon & alot cheaper, Great video Sam !
Now that would be really interesting if they did!

Same question! Link to mirror?
Team Forged Ember 🔥
But is it Aloominum or Aluminium? 😅😉
Interesting upgrades, Sam. Have any of your LED upgrades caused the "check xxx light" warning on startup?
Nope - I think the lighting module and BCM etc are a bit smarter on the later L322s. No errors at all.
Thanks for the video 🤠
No problem 👍 Thanks for watching!!

A bit of "light entertainment" ... ho ho ho.
Auxbeam will be coming as part of the Overlanding series in the next few weeks. Cheers! 😁
May need to get a bit of UV protector on those reversing light lenses Sam!

“A wiggle and a pull”, huh? Funny, that was the nickname I gave my girlfriend back in college!
Love all your vids sam as regards the reverse lights no not for me put the others back on mate
Nice video and good content
Glad you enjoyed
L320 has the best revese lights outhere
They must have learned from the abysmal ones on the L322!

Yeah I saw those and discounted them for the same reason.

Nope!
Have you got the link for the bevensee lights?
Do you enjoy your tires?

Hey Jerry. Did you transfer over the rubber gaskets from the back of your old lights? If not, that’ll probably cause them to be a bit loose.
Cheers
I did not do that. I’m sure that is the answer. Thanks so much!

It’s a feature of most 4.4 tdv8
Yeah Rob says, normal 4.4 TDV8 noise caused by the fan clutch. From what I've read even brand new fan clutches make the same sound.

They have grown on me a bit. I'm not noticing them when I walk up to the car now which is a good thing I think!

Pet hate! Please clean behind the part taken off. Otherwise, I love the videos
I did the first time, honest! Just shows you how quickly they get mucky again though!
Dunno if it's just me, but none of the linked to items can be shipped to the UK. Brexit just saved me a few quid there....
