Travel anxiety and panic issues are very real things! Thank you for sharing, as it will help others know that they are not the only ones going through these issues.
Honest, and quite profound. Maybe it's only when you're alone and empty of ideas that you're open to the world, and the new. I can agree after a lifetime of travelling that you encounter this existential loneliness in a new place, especially a different culture, pretty much every time. It's your mindset which takes a few days or weeks to adjust.
Its good that you discussed this topic. I suffer from severe anxiety when I travel as well and thought I was the only one. Now I take a pill once a day and I no longer have that problem. In fact my life has changed for the better. BTW, if I traveled to some of the places you travelled like India, I would have a nervous breakdown, so kudos to you.
Thank you so much for this. Arrived in Japan 2 days ago for the first time. I’m travelling alone as I usually do. I am also pretty well travelled. But I experience all the stuff you speak about and I’ve never heard someone else describe the feelings I’ve felt. I thought maybe it was just because I’m an anxious person. This is insanely validating. Thanks man, I appreciate your content a lot.
its insane how much you changed in a year, i started watching you from the end and its night and day. Here you speak of being not as confident as you thought you were. Little did you know that by the end of this trip youll be smoking tobacco out of a bong in-between train cars LMFAOOOOOOO
This is so motivating it super cool to see someone throw themselves into uncomfortable situations despite there anxiety and insecurities and be transparent about it especially with the youtube culture trying to potray traveling in this perfect almost fairytale style, the honesty is what has me hooked on these videos it also gives me some courage to just go somewhere new and figure it all out on the spot instead of planning everything. Love the videos man keep it up!!
Im planning to start my travel around the world at the beginning of next year and vlog while traveling. Yesterday and today I've had more insecure feeling about the whole thing and now I found this video just by browsing youtube, pretty wild huh. Thanks for the supportive message.
I’m glad you’re enjoying my country bro! If possible be in touch constantly with Colombian people you trust to avoid bad experiences as a visitor, have a nice stay here bro, if you need anything in bogota let me know! And it’s completely normal to be looked at a lot, we’re not used to see gringos haha
Thank you for this. I’ve binged a lot of your videos and I’ve been wanting to travel like you are, but I know that I’d have anxiety. I’ve traveled a bit before and dealt with panic attacks and got through it, but it’s comforting and reassuring to hear someone like you, who’s traveled so much, to share similar struggles. You’re awesome and inspiring dude, appreciate you. Hope to run into you sometime on the road
This video was just recommended to me, and I instantly clicked it thinking it was a new upload. It was interesting to watch this with the knowledge of how much better you're doing now. Keep up the great work, I love your videos, you deserve all the success you've earned.
tbh would like to hear more things youve struggled with and advice for us who wish to travel as well, would be really nice. appreciate this vid a lot! and your other ones, thank u!
You’re great at what you do. I’m quite surprised you don’t have tons of views. I recently flew out of the states for the first time to Japan. It was a powerful experience. Ever since I’ve gotten back, I’ve been noodling trying to chase that feeling. Your content has given me tons of new ideas for future destinations. Keep up the good work, bro!
Oh man, big thanks for showing this. Really appreciate seeing this side of it. Gives me hope for my own future travels as I struggle with these feelings a lot at times.
This is so true. I don’t know if I could have dictated it as well. I went to Europe solo one summer and just explored but after two weeks when I made it to a new city, I was so beat and ready to go home. My host turned everything around though in a short interaction that turned into drinking wine late into the night on a night in a central Amsterdam canal. Travel is beautiful. It’s be cool to explore with ya one day. Keep pushing and enjoying.✌🏻from Bama
Digging the Chance shirt. I remember when that came out I met one of his buddies in Boston. Visiting from Chicago. He was like check out this record, this dude is about to blow up 😂 2013 was an awesome year
thank you for your honesty. ive been watching numerous of your videos, but i clicked the vid bcs of the title, having had a perception that you are fearless, and wanted to see what u had to say about this. ive felt a little unsure about how i will do these things traveling alone, not knowing the languages. but knowing that this is more normal than i thought and coming from YOU helps sm. ill get through it, and it is important to remember that itll get better, and its normal to feel homesick or afraid to do things.
Thanks for your honesty. I've had that feeling of uncertainty when entering a new country as well, but was told that I should be excited rather than uncertain. Thanks for showing that it's normal to be uncertain when in a completely normal environment, and what fun one can have by overcoming that uncertainty.
I recently found your channel and I fell I love. It’s so encouraging and I am discovering with you (vicariously of course) lol you are amazing. Keep inspiring 💕
As a seasoned traveler, I can tell you that nothing can bond you more to a foreign country than finding a partner there and emotionally "invest" on him/her. And nothing may mentally isolate you from that country more than the breakup with said partner.
Surprised you had the anxiety issue. I've been to Japan twice (planning on going back this year) but I've had days were I didn't leave until night time, ordered pizza etc cause I was to nervous to go out.
Interesting. I feel alive when i'm traveling. But I also don't keep much company at all and force myself to spend a lot of downtime in order to de-stress. So maybe different personalities.
Would it help if you knew the language perfectly? I've spent 3 years maxing out on Spanish and it's almost as good as my native language but I'm still nervous about traveling in Latin America. I work in a restaurant in the states with non English speaking Latinos and could make a video of me talking to them if you like.
You know what? Sometimes, it helps not to know the language perfectly! Not knowing when you're being subtly threatened or intimidated can be a good thing. I asked a Spanish gf why Colombia wasnt a big destination for her and the Spanish in general, she said it was because they understood the language, and were consequently afraid. Personally speaking, I've made 7 solo trips to Colombia without incident, and I speak worse Espanol than your average 4 year-old.
@@cargumdeu That makes sense. Ignorance can be bliss. I was also thinking that millions of English speaking Americans have anxiety over every day interactions that only got worse during the pandemic, so you can have that anxiety knowing a language perfectly, or not at all!
We think we have freedom in the US. Tell me about it when you pay your car insurance, house taxes, gas tax, and state and federal income tax..or go to the Dr.s for some antibiotics.
All of that stuff is necessary to live a good life in Colombia as well. Sure you can get by with no insurance or paying taxes over there, but it sucks.
There is such a thing as insurance in other countries. Take the accident that happened in the street. Somebody has to pay for damages. Not everybody’s walking around with a lot of cash to cover cost of a vehicle or personal injury.
Lol the genuine effort of that man to recall how many drinks he had had. Perfecto
Travel anxiety and panic issues are very real things! Thank you for sharing, as it will help others know that they are not the only ones going through these issues.
Thank you for being so authentic and not censoring or compromising your expression at all in this modern era

Do Canada coast to coast in the winter lol.
That old man only had one drink…. After another… and another…
dude colombian food is fire! la glorias in envigado, thats the spot!
drunk guy spit all over your pizza it looked like!
wait that one girl that would be in his videos was his girlfriend? why did they break up
I’m Muslim . There is a saying by prophet Muhammad about traveling that on should travel with at least 2 or 3 people
Empanadas. Just not the deep fried ones. Colombians eat to live, rather than living to eat.
We think we have freedom in the US. Tell me about it when you pay your car insurance, house taxes, gas tax, and state and federal income tax..or go to the Dr.s for some antibiotics.

Love my pizza with extra spit, yum yum.
Empanadas suck
Lovely woman😏
The fuck is Medajean?
That is how the name of the city, Medellin is pronounced.
Why would you feel shame of eating pizza. But not in Columbia?
24:20 That lady in white definitely wanted my guy Conner's attention. 🫡
