Lamelo at A+ doesn't make any sense when he's such a China doll. I'd have him A- at best despite his talent.
100%. You can't give a guy an A+ and then say "he has the potential to be..." or "he could be..." or "he probably will be...". LaMelo is a really good player, and everything SROS said about him is true, but an A+ has to be someone like Ant, about whom there is no question - he's an absolute superstar right now.

Yeah I thought the same. But tbh I think it's because Boston get Brogdon in the Nesmith trade. Like Brogdon was a key piece, 6MOTY and was included in the Holiday trade I believe. So yeah in hindsight the Nesmith pick was good, while Jalen Smith gave the Suns Torrey Craig for 2 seasons or something. Now he's with the Bulls if not mistaken. I still think Nesmith pick deserves a C/C+ tho

Over the past 25 or so hes averaging 21 and 10 on efficient shootijg and good defense. Without kuz (nice sample size too) for the year hes put up 25 and 10. Just something to keep in mind.
Imo he should be an a- because hes an elite defender and guards 1-5 and is also a stud on offense. Steal at 9, has real all star potential imo, if the wizards can draft well this year and move on from kuz and win some games

i have wanted quickley on the raps for a while now so i was hyped when the trade went down. a lot of people trashed the trade and masai for not getting more… quickley has been ballinggg averaging 21 pts over his last 14 games… and RJ has been averaging 22 over the past 14 and has been extremely consistent. and we got the pistons 2nd round pick which is basically a late 1st rounder this year… i don’t see many other trades that would have been better… they fit perfectly around scottie too.

Interesting video but the grading makes no sense. Are you grading their draft decision or how it worked out? Even grading them as Great/Good/Meh/Bad would be easier to understand.
Bolmaro has a lot of potential, but he didn't development at all. In part was his lack of star mentality and in the other side, timberwolves never tryed to development his talent. They sended him into de g-league and that was the end for him
I remember them saying this was one of the worst draft classes of all time. Never agreed with that take and this is proof that’s cap.

I went back to the beginning of the video to listen to your criteria. You said the criteria is how that player has performed.
LaMelo Ball hasn’t performed anything like Edwards or Halliburton.
I get that he puts up great numbers and is unbelievably talented but he’s barely played and hasn’t shown he can lead a team.
Those other two guys, in the meantime, have become two of the best players in the league.

The take on not priorizing the development of P-Will is just untrue. He was a starter from the jump and always got a lot of minutes as long as he wasn't injured. Look at the impact that Jevonte green had despite not being prioritized in the offense. You mean to tell me that P-Will can't do that? He's got star talent with a 3rd string mentality.
Lamelo's grading is what's wrong with your grading system. U grade on potential not on what they've done. If U grade him based on what he's done it's definitely not a plus.

Confused with how this is graded. Aaron Nesmith was horrible with the Celtics, especially his 2nd year, but he got a B+ due to his time with the Pacers. However Jalen Smith got an F. Jalen played around 80 games for the Suns & Nesmith played around 90/95 for the Celtics. Just confused. As they were both bad for their og teams but graded differently on their 2nd team.
This is based on who they are today; think you missed the point of the players they are now. The development aka their value now.

Lamelo is a C imo he is a very good player when he plays but he is never healthy he has played 58 games the last 2 seasons out of 164 avalaible and he is yet to make the playoffs.

He is a good player (you’re saying it yourself). The Suns did not do a good job in developing him, but after the trade he showed that he deserved more.
So DRAFTING him was not a failure. The failure was in NOT GIVING THE RIGHT OPPORTUNITY to him. The draft itself is at least a C. Maybe C+ (sure, it could be said, in theory, of any F Draft Grade, but here the man has proven himself, and almost immediately).
I suggest that you correct this….

my grades for the top 15. My grades are based on them as a player, not necessarily as a grade from the front office:
1.) Ant: A+
2.) Wiseman: F- grade from GSW front office. They needed a center, a very good center. What they should've done was draft lamelo and then trade lamelo afterwards for a more veteran center like for ex. myles turner. Being a center on GSW has a lot of difficult responsibilities, no rookie can fill GSW center requirements. This was just not a smart move at all from GSW front office. As a player Wiseman is an F- & as for the front office drafting him its also an F- because of everything I said earlier.
3.) Lamelo: B+ injury concerns. He would be an A if he wasnt so dam injury prone. Also, tyrese haliburton is a better choice.
4.) Patrick Williams: C-. 4th pick and you draft a role player. As a player he is a C- but for the team to draft someone like him this high is an F grade from the front office. Nobody had pwill this high on their mock draft.
5.) Isaac Okoro: C-. 5th pick and they draft a role player. Same thing like the bulls.
6.) Okongwu: C+
7.) Killian: F
8.) Obi Toppin: C. 8th pick and they draft a role player; however, his stats in 2 years in college were good. Too bad he never improved. I did understand the Knicks reasoning for drafting him cause he was super athletic and he was from NY & at the time no free agent wanted to sign with the Knicks so by drafting a native new yorker they didnt have to worry about him ever leaving. As a player I'm giving him a C grade, but for the front office I would give them a B.
9.) Deni: C. Nothing special about him. He's a starter on a bad wizards team. He would be a role player on a good team. Heading into the draft, a lot of people thought he would have more upside and potential to develop into a 2nd or 3rd option on a mid to winning team in the future. Has not been the case. He is still very mid and average since being drafted.
10.) Jalen Smith: C. He's a very mid, mediocre center. Great for a backup center. He has more offensive potential than defense potential tbh. Still feel like his game has not been fully unlocked, especially on the offensive end.
11.) Devin: B+ love his improvement since being drafted.
12.) Haliburton: A++ but then the Kings traded him which is a terrible idea for Sabonis which was risky since Sabonis could've not resigned with them, thankfully he did resigned with them. However, giving away a potential franchise player on a cheaper contract for Sabonis thats a D grade for the front office. A++ for drafting him. D grade for trading him away for Sabonis. At least the sabonis trade has worked out for both teams, but in the long run, the Pacers are the real winners. Haliburton will have a longer nba career than Sabonis. Between the two, Haliburton is more likely to win a championship for the Pacers than Sabonis for the Kings.
13.) Kira Lewis Jr.: F
14.) Nesmith: B- as a player. However, he never got the chance to develop under the celtics. Celtics drafting him and not being able to develop him is a F. Him as a player is a B- since he a solid role player at #14.
15.) Cole Anthony: B. A very safe pick at #15 from orlando.

And the effeciency argument doesn't work since Jalen green is even worse in that department as well. Jalen Green shot 42% from the field this season and 33% from three compared to Ants 46% from the field and 36% from three.
