Myself and family just came off odyssey of the seas and we had the most beautiful experience, we loved everything ,so much to do and the food was amazing , the staff was extremely efficient and made sure your stay was a memorable one. I love it big shout out to our servers Tarina, Marvin, Vernie, Gener and Arnel you guys are the best.
I watch many videos of cruise ships and am amazed at the classy looks and wonderful style of Royal Caribbean ships! I sail on NCL and wish when they do yard rebuilds that they could add at least one more pool!
This is complete introduction to the ship "Odyssey of the Sea". Thank you very much. I had booked my trip Transatlantic on this ship in late 2022. Looking forward to this vacation. I have a question: If I don't drink alcohol nor purchase the package, can I sit in the bar to listen live music in there?
My wife and I are looking at royal for our girls cruise. Because they have do many activities on board. Carnival doesn’t. We’re just not sure which one yet.
So far nothing has appeared to go that way. Royal did cancel Serenade of the Seas sailings a few weeks ago but not for covid reasons. They decided to dry dock her early. At least that my understanding.
A real disappointment from what could be a great ship!!! Food? ...at best it was mediocre and at worst it was cold and poor quality! After being on half a dozen RCI ships, this was the biggest disappointment! (To make matters worse RCI pressure their dining room staff to get patrons to give high marks for the food or it affects their standing! The water has NOTHING to do with the quality of food... Shame on RCI!) ...RCI have introduced a new food game on this ship... it might be called "Guess what time the food venue is open". The times of most food venues changes which makes hunting some food down a bit of a chore. The fact that all nearly the food venues are closed between 3:30pm and 5:30pm is astonishing especially on port days when lots of people return to the ship during this hours!!! ... speciality coffees... RCI offer a deal for special coffees but there are only two places on the ship where you can get them and that often means a line and limits the time you can get them! Entertainment? ...on the one hand the entertainment in their key shows (The book and the Effectors) are technologically stunning but one is pretty childish and pathetic in storyline and the other doesn't have a storyline at all. ...outside of these two shows and one other (the Showgirls) there is little more than pub entertainment which is a huge disappointment... especially as the "lesser" ships have nightly good shows. Movies? ...they have lots of movies on the main pool deck but there's little point in trying to watch any of them! The best seats for the movies is reserved for suite guests and then there's only a few other seats to get a good view. Really poor for a ship costing so much. Pools? ... looking forward to some relaxing around the pool? Forget it on this ship. We know and accept that pool areas will be crowded on sea days and there's often going to be noise around the main pool areas........ but on Odyssey there's noise around both the pool decks (on one loud live music and the other loud movies that nobody's watching). ... then there's the adult pool area, the Solarium. It has three pool areas that are pretty pointless. They are 30 inches deep (so can't swim) and so if all you want to do is sit in warm water, they're great but forget swimming or full immersion. ...Jacuzzi's. There are six of them... all equally disappointing. They seat anything up to 12 people but in most there's on big jet and on the others there are two. It means you're either luck and get the jet or you're just sitting in warm water! A $1billion ship and they can't get a single jacuzzi to work right? The APP? ... well the app is crap! It's not intuitive and there's no search facility which means hours of scrolling and trying to remember where you saw stuff! How can a multi-billion dollar company not provide a search facility? In fairness it wasn't all bad and if you've never cruised before, you'll be impressed. Embarkation was the best and fastest of any other ship, the ship was spotlessly cleaned, most staff were eager to please and the ship has plenty to offer. It's just sad that implementation and some small design elements spoil the experience such that I'll choose another ship, even another cruise line before going back on the Odyssey of the Seas
GEEZ, why even comment with all your negative reviews in every aspect of the ship I may add your reviews are not accurate or true you can watch movies at any level or room doesn't matter if you are in a suite or not. The foods good if you don't like buffet style then go to specialty restaurants that serve 5 star cuisine. The app works very well and easy to manuever compared to the website. if you work for Carnival an economy cruise line just say that opposed to giving unfairly and inaccurate reviews for RCL
