Thank you so much for you posting this video. I had replaced the thermistor and thermostat fuse per the F01 error, but never thought that it could be the back of the board like that. I pulled it out & didn't have a big burned spot like you had, but did find that the solder on that same spot was cracked a bit. I refreshed the entire solder spot and boom! worked like a charm! Much appreciated for saving me $900 on a new dryer.
Thank You! Your Video may have been 3yrs ago, but it definitely helped me a lot. I had the same exact issue and now I had it working again. The best part is my Wife thinks I’m a hero by saving us from spending a lot of money. 🤭 🍻
Wow, you dont solder. First clean the tip, let it get hot enough to melt solder before you touch the pin, also tin (coat the tip with solder) before you touch the pin. It should be fast, you don't want to overheat, hot enough for good flow and to solder the pin in say 5-8 seconds. And you need to use rosin core solder. Obviously you fixed it, but that solder joint looks terrible. Good job finding the problem, this will help me out a lot.
Yea I bought a new relay desoldered the old one and soldered the new one in and added a jumperwire on the throw side which was a side that was burnt out. Seems to work fine now.
I have the exact same tryer with the same fault code F01. I had the exact same problem and repaired my dryer this same way. The problem I'm having now is I can't change the the drying time or the temperature. Any suggestions on how to remedy this problem?
I am wondering why all of us have the same issue - and if this repair could potentially create a fire hazard - since some sort of blow out happened. Was it just crummy or inadequate solder at that junction? Why did it blow out? With the jumper wire - am I creating the possibility of this power surge might happen again?
This is a great 'Band-aid' solution but it doesn't address the root of the problem. The real issue is the Relay. As they age, the Relay will build up corrosion inside it on the contacts. This corrosion causes the Relay to heat up due to the added resistance, this in turn damages the connection to the Circut Board. Often damaging the Board itself. A jumper wire can be installed but this still doesn't address the actual problem. The Relay should be changed, it's a $20 part.
Thanks @@RustyNipples - can any one help me find the relay? I already did the jumper wire - but would order in the relay and fix it better once the part came in. have done a bit of soldering - but haven't bought a ton of parts.
I just ordered mine off of Amazon today. Type in the numbers printed on the old Relay, you should get several results to choose from. Mine was $20 and expected to arrive tomorrow. I've repaired several appliances this way. A 58" Smart TV was $6 to fix (got the TV free), my Refrigerator cost me $25 to repair ($2K to replace).
@@SonOfAHerbert I talked to an appliance repair guy and he said that from my description, i would likely need to replace the board. And that dryer was old enough that it probably wasn't worth the investment.

Thanks. It worked for me. Same issue and same burnt joint. Now we’ll see how long it lasts.

Exactly my dryer and error code. I’ll be attempting this fix tomorrow.👏🏼
Thank you so much for this great video, it helped me with the repair (I replaced the entire board) but it was still helpful
Worked great my 16 year old grandson took care of it.

I did same thing and works fine
Good video. Thanks!
Thanks for the video. It worked 😀
Thank you, worked wonderfully !

I have the same problem. I have removed the board, but there are no burn marks on the board. Any suggestions for what I should do?
Same here. What did you do?

@@adamsartist496 a refurbished board is $30...
Get some clothes pins from the Dollar general and some rope string it across your backyard and problem is fixed
My research suggests the burnt wire is the symptom of a faulty relay.
Damn my he2 just got this code. Turns on press start F01 error code.
